DDA Chapter 4

I haven't been feeling right today either. I noticed a bit of vertigo when I went to bed last night and boy did I notice it this morning. I tried to stand on one foot while putting on my boot and thankfully the wall caught me before I could fall. Otherwise I feel fine :confused3 I'm guessing I have an inner ear thing going on, but my ears do not hurt. I finally took a Sudafed around 12:30 and it seems to be much better now. Here's hoping that it lasts until I get home from work.

I've been fairly productive around here too. I was able to find shorts for the boys yesterday which motivated me to sort through some of our summer clothes/Disney outfits. Now I have an idea of what I still need to find to finish up. Since the kids have grown I need quite a few items here and there. I ended up placing an order for blank t-shirts this morning. Those will be to finish up the AK outfits and the Mickey Swirl outfits. I also got red tees for under our Mickey Hawaiian shirts and some plain navy blue polo shirts. I will probably just leave those as is an pair them with tan shorts. They will be a step up from t-shirts every day. :thumbsup2

I've done 3 loads of laundry and I made the cookie dough and fondant. The fondant tastes wonderful, but what a sticky mess it was to make. Hopefully it will work well with the cookies.

Now I need to pull our tax stuff together :headache:

I have, Denise. I loved our room location, and thought it was very quiet. The only problem you might run into with the BC is that the resort is pretty "thin" width wise, and so a lot of the rooms are going to be further from the main lobby than some other deluxe resorts.

That said, we were about half-way down the resort's west-side, overlooking a courtyard (we could see Crescent Lake to our left), and we had a full balcony on the 2nd floor. I can't remember the room # off the top of my head, but I'll see if I can find it. It was a king-bed room, so that exact room obviously wouldn't work for you guys, but I think all the rooms around us on the 2nd floor had the balconies.

Here were the views, to give you an idea of resort orientation:

We were also very close to the quiet pool on that side of the building, and you could use that entrance door when coming back from Epcot, so you could walk inside in the a/c!
Thanks for the pictures, Lindsay. Where was your room on the map Elin posted? I like the view of the garden.

Amy are you around? I have sugar cookie questions. I made the dough and it is resting comfortably in the fridge :goodvibes I also made marshmallow fondant and that is resting too. When I make the cookies do I need to frost them before the fondant? What makes the fondant stick to the cookies? HELP please :worship:

I'm glad I decided to "escape" my children and check in. :goodvibes

For my glaze, I use a dry fondant. It's kind of like powdered sugar and all you do is add hot water. I frost my cookies with that and Kevin sprinkles the colored sugar crystals on each cookie while the fondant is still hot. Then, if I'm feeling really ambitious, I add a little piping, and let the cookies sit out for a couple hours to set.

I'm not sure what marshmallow fondant is, but this website for Sugarcraft (the store where I buy all my supplies) has a wealth of information.

Have fun! :)

Theresa, I hope your week is better. Thinking of you.

Deb, feel better!

Tia, I hope Terra feels better.

Vicki, safe travels today and prayers for a good MRI.

Hope all the rest of y'all stay warm and the wind doesn't blow you away! I have been subbing almost every day I don't teach. Just got home, and I'm off to get the kids off the bus and then take Rees to therapy. Have a good afternoon!

How do you make the pictures smaller when you quote instead of full-size?

Our weather isn't too bad today. It is windy and overcast but not cold.

I need to go get Princess and stop at the grocery store. I went to Target earlier.

Deb - Good for you for getting started on your boys' summer wardrobes! :thumbsup2 DS HATES to try on all of his stuff from the previous year.:scared: I hope the Sudafed continues to help! Cookies sound good. Maybe Princess & I will make our other package of place & bake today!

Hope everyone who is feeling bad is on the mend soon.:wizard:

It is a rolled fondant like you would use to create a cake. For a cake it says to lightly frost with royal icing then apply the fondant. I wasn't sure if I needed to do that with the cookies or not. It tastes divine.

Hmmm... I like to see everyone's 5 lists.. Very interesting what we all think is attractive.

My 5 would be..Totally based on physical attributes only not necessarily personality.

1-Johnny Depp
2-Hugh Grant
3-Hugh Laurie
4-Chris Noth
5-Jude Law

Thanks, Elin. What map is that? Is there a full size version? So looking at the map, Epcot would be South, lake and BWI are to my West?

Lindsay, where was your room on this map?

Thanks so much for the help.

Denise - you can find floor maps for all floors here: http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm

Looking at the map for the 2nd floor, I think we were somewhere in rooms 2575-2581. I'll have to check my file from that trip tonight for the room #, but it was definitely somewhere in there. When I booked, I asked for a courtyard view.

And yes, you're right about the orientation of Epcot/Crescent Lake/BWI to the map.

Colby is adorable!

I'm sorry I can't be of help...I'm a rolled fondant virgin. :teeth:

Quick question - does anyone still have last week's AllEars newsletter? I need the code for subscribing to the Touring Plans.com website that always appears at the bottom every week, and I deleted mine (and don't have time to wait for tomorrow's). It apparently doesn't take past week's codes. :rolleyes1

Thanks!

Tia - I'm glad Terra is taking her meds. Though I agree with Bernadette that it sounds gross!

It does to me too, but I have a feeling that the Ovaltine overpowers the medicine taste. The medicine does not have that strong of a taste and the Ovaltine does. We mixed it in milk first as it worked for Chase last week. I tried that one and it wasn't too bad and not very flavored at all, hence my thoughts on the Ovaltine version, which I won't taste as I don't like Ovaltine to begin with.

Out a th_ before the file name in that long address line. On Elin's it would be between the / and BCFirst.
