Karen, you and Shocker are in my prayers! I know how sad you are right now, and I pray for peace and comfort in making your decision.
I'm glad the surgery is scheduled! Take care of yourself. I'm sure that was very scary!Sorry to be MIA so much lately, life is at a fast pace as usual. The long awaited surgery will finally be Monday, although it was a stressful ride, they will definitely be much better off going this route than they would have been trying to make payments.
I had my first "low blood glucose" experience Thursday, a little over an hour after I took my meds I got extremely lightheaded, so much so I thought I was going to pass out, I took a reading and my level was 44,, so I had my first sugared soft drink in over a month and that brought it up to 58 after an hour, I napped, or passed out in between the readings, after the second reading I had some chocolate candy and got it up to 80. I will be taking the meds with dinner from now on, that isn't an experience I care to have again.
Has anyone heard from Jo lately?
I think I'll go by our storage unit and pull out the Easter table decor, and hopefully I'll be productive and get the laundry caught up.
Hope everyone has a great weekend
Hi Penny. Welcome back!Well - I decided I was going to try and keep up with this board, but it just did not happen. I tried and tried and when I came on this morning I was 20 pages behind. So I skipped here and there.
THere are so many things I wanted to say to different people and so many cyber hugs I wanted to send, but I kept loosing the names. I wish I knew how to respond to many people like I see others do.
Anyway, I see people are talking about a Philly meet. Please keep me in mind if you do. I would love to meet other Philly people.
Take care everyone one & Mrs. Heg (the mousekeeping envelope lady), good luck with your operation.

I am so there!!!Did someone say DDA Philly meet!!! If its not the last 2 weeks of August then I am there!!!
One certainly can't beat that deal! You'll have to let me know how DS liked Spiderwick. Nicholas wants to see it.I took DS's Nike shirts back to Nordstrom. They didn't have the smaller ones, BUT (and this is where Nordstrom kicks Macy's butt for service) the sales associate looked up the shirts, found a store that had all 3 in a smaller size, called to verify the other store had them, and arranged to have them shipped to our house! No shipping charge! On CLEARANCE shirts!Every time I vow to stay out of Nordstrom they reel me back in.

I agree with your thoughts completely. I hope whatever decision is made is the best for your grandmother. My mom just called. My grandmother has breast cancer and will have surgery on March 7th. I don't know any details (neither does my mom) as my grandmother lives by herself and didn't ask the doctor what type, prognosis, nada. She's 85, tired of living, and personally I'm not sure treatment is in her best interest. She has a myriad of lung and heart issues, and I just am wondering if 6+ weeks of radiation is a good choice. My mom agrees and is calling my grandmother's doctors to have a long talk. I'm not being crass. God knows I love her more than anything. I'm not sure she'd make it through general anesthesia. She is very lonely and depressed since she had to quit her job a year ago. My grandfather has been dead 10 years and she misses him desperately. I would rather her have a good quality of life at the end vs suffering with treatments that might not work. My mom and I said if she doesn't get the radiation, then we will plan a huge trip this summer as a family and go celebrate all together! I really thought this year would be better for our family.
I just spoke with the receptionist at my vets office yesterday. I may be looking at having to put my dog down soon. Jen or Deb, how did you know they were in pain? I've heard that dogs mask their pain well. My dog has a horrible time getting up after sleeping all night, falters sometimes going up and down the stairs. I just don't know how much he is hurting. We had to put my dog, Champ, down in April..It was so hard to do, but we knew that we had to do it..He was just in too much pain. He wasnt in a coma or anything, but you coudl tell how much pain he was in
I miss him all the time and i really miss having a dog. Hang in there, Karen
Me. I mailed them on Tuesday.Who was sending me their coupons for the lithographs? I received two - the one from Elizabeth and the one from Deb. I don't remember who else was sending them. We leave on Thursday after work.
This weekend is perfect for me.i think the june 28-29 would work better for me..but i could find a way to make the other one work
Pictures please.I keep forgetting to post (though I told Deb on the phone), we got the shirts and earrings from Deb. The small is a little tight on Katrina but she loves it and can't wait to wear it to Animal Kingdom. The other one is a little big on Becky, but they are going to make it work. They want to match. The bigger one is a little small on me but would work so I may wear that on one of our trips without kids. Katrina and I will be wearing the pirate earrings with our costumes. Thanks Deb.

Well, I do think that Chuck & the girls might be a little unhappy with me if I said "Hey, they are having a DDA meet this week-end. Let's trash our Disney plans and head to Philly!" They'd put me in an insane asylum!

i changed my post..how about THAT weekend in June?:
Thanks. It seems like Shane is in the beginning stages of how Champ ended up. Once he is up he is okay, still runs around like usual. He's already had a cancerous tumor removed several years ago, and I'm sure it is growing back. The vet described it as having 'legs', meaning it was growing into the muscle, so they weren't able to remove it all. He is almost 18 years old!Tammi--So sorry to hear this! With Champ, it started out as he was having a hard time getting up in the morning and we noticed that he wasnt moving around much during the day...but we said that could have just been him "getting old"...we knew that he had cancer as you could see one of the tumors. Soon, his back leg (the one with the tumor) was giving out hwen he tried to stand up..He would kind of "scoot" to come sit near us so he didnt have to get up. Later, we had to bribe him to get up to get him to go outside and he just looked so sad...
i hope that helps..im sorry you have to go through this![]()
That week-end works for me!![]()
I just couldn't resist. I see that Tammi also said this week-end but she was quoting the June week-end. Interesting Philly is only about 9.5 hours from Lansing. It is about 7.5 hours for me to Lansing. That really might be doable if I come by myself. Not sure I could talk Chuck into it. I could go to Lansing for the week, then come out there, then go back to Lansing for the next week and then go home. Not too much driving too many days in a row. Hmmmmmmmmm. Or I could have Chuck come with me and he could work in Lansing (as long as he has his laptop and cell phone, most of the time he can work from anywhere for a week or so).
