DDA Chapter 3

Good Morning DDA,

Tammi -prayers for your father, , I don't think I mentioned how much I l liked your book, it's wonderful.

Jennifer - I hoped you listened to "Mom" and got some rest.

Anne Marie - I hope poor Katie is feeling bettter.

Elizabeth - Congrats to DS on the science fair, sorry about the locker.

Elin - Congrats to Kathrin, good luck getting her all moved in.

Bernadette - Glad you like the stroller. Between all the chaos over the holidays I never did tell you how much I enjoyed the kids notes in your Christmas card. Joe's song made me laugh, and believe me I didn't do much of that at the time. :thumbsup2

Well, it's off to work with me, I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, we'll see if she's happy with my progress so far.

Have a Great day,

Debbie

WTG Kathrin!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

poor mama!!

We expect to hear about the sockless co-workers!!

Good Morning DDA,

Elin - Congrats to Kathrin, good luck getting her all moved in.

Well, it's off to work with me, I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, we'll see if she's happy with my progress so far.

Have a Great day,

Debbie

Thanks, guys! FYI - she is on her own on this move, probably. I am in the midst of my SevenDaysAWeek work time right now and it will continue through March 8. So, unless there is a miraculous addition of an eighth day to a week in there somewhere, I can't break away to help her. Or, if she chooses their second start date offer of March 17, we might be available. I don't think she knows this yet, either... :sad2:

Debbie - I hope the doctor sees that you have been working at this!

Although the Hearts On Fire diamond company did not budge on the salary offering, they did promise Kathrin a salary review in June if she "knocks their socks off" at her new job. She called the other company and told them she had accepted another job. She is beyond tickled, to say the least. Oh, and she told me that when I meet her new co-workers they will all be sock-less. :rotfl:

The plan is to find an apartment and roommate already in an area she is interested in and be moved in no later than March 15!
Good for her. I like her positive attitude. :wizard: finding an apartment!

Good morning and happy hump day. :)

It is a balmy 68 degrees at 5:30 this morning. I only wish it would stay like this.

Glad it was a relatively painless night

got to say the girls (Cassidy)wants to see this....:confused3 I can not imagine paying that much to endure the screaming girls.

It was cute but I don't think it was really worth the $. The start time was 6pm, the previews started at 6pm and the movie didn't actually start til 6:30pm. And it was all over by 7:35. But the girls liked it and it was a whole lot cheaper than going to the concert!

I'm glad you all had a good time!

Thanks!!

Debbie, here's some :wizard: that your appointment goes well.

Good morning and happy hump day. :)

It is a balmy 68 degrees at 5:30 this morning. I only wish it would stay like this.

Crazy weather, I woke up and couldn't breathe. My head is just not liking this at all.

You talk too much ;)

Congrats!!:cool1:
Trouble maker!

WTG Kathrin! wow..march 15..that seems so close

Good morning all--i stayed in bed a bit too long this morning, so im headed to work now..oops :) Have a great day!

my job is an after school counselor hired on by the ymca. its kinda ironic because i am at a school that was named after one of my mom's principles she worked under. also i might be doing an at home csr position.

Karen I'm so happy you found a job.
Ramiro went to the YMCA 1st - 6th grade after school.
He enjoyed it very much.

Good morning!

It was"Kids Night on Broadway" last night. Katie & I went to see Hairspray. George Wendt (from Cheers) was Edna Turnblat (the mom). He made the show..he was great. The rest was o.k. not a blockbuster but Katie absolutely LOVED it!! Thought it was the best thing ever. We got home at midnight & surprisingly I am not that tired..I guess it will hit me later!;)

Checking in...

Not sure when I'll be able to check back in with you guys.

I told a couple of you on this thread last week that I believed I was pregnant....which I am.

Unfortunately, it has turned out to what doctors believe is an ectopic pregnancy. So joy has turned into sadness/fear very quickly in this household. Not really sure what the future holds right now....I am on daily monitoring...if levels do not decrease on their own I am facing possible surgery maybe even emergency surgery if the pain persists. As awful as it sounds, the better thing would be to have have a natural miscarriage......and unless something resolves very quickly, there will be no Disney trip.

Bill is completely out of his mind right now....after the doctor pumped him full of the ectopic risks (mainly the death one) he has been hovering all over me.

I did instruct him to call Marti & Marci should something happen.

Well, there you have it.

Kristine...

I hope you are not in alot of pain & can rest. I am so sorry. :grouphug:
I hope you know we are all thinking about you.

Argh. :headache:

DH just called. I had mentioned how DS NEVER uses his locker. For some reason today he went by the locker to get his art supplies out because art is over - he is in computer this semester. His lock is gone, all of his art supplies have been stolen.
That stinks!!!!!!

I was inspired for about 2 and a half days. The moment has passed and now it just seems like too much work.

Any advice?

Nicholas got his report card today. They don't get letter grades yet, just numbers, so he is at where he should be, although he did get a comment saying that he makes careless errors because he works too fast and rushes to complete things. I've noticed this in the in-class work that he brings home. Any suggestions on how to get him to take his time and make sure everything is complete and correct.?
Katie does the same thing..she rushes to finish like its a race or something. No advice but I can commiserate with you.

I spoke with my parents tonight. My dad had a stress test yesterday and evidently their is a concern. He is going in Monday for a heart catheterization on Monday. This isn't the first one either. He had a mild heart attack about 18 years ago and has had further blockages on an off throughout the years. Luckily they have been able to remove them with stents and angioplasty. If you could send good thoughts/wishes his way I would appreciate it.
Tammi, he will be in my thoughts. Hope all is ok.

So here is how my week is looking for August:

Mon 8/11 - arrive at BC. Walk over to Epcot. Early dinner at Biergarten.
Tue 8/12 - Blizzard Beach in AM, B&C for dinner, Fantasia golf
Wed. 8/13 - MK, early dinner at 1900 Park Fare, MK (hoping for P&PP this night)
Thur 8/14 - sleep in, HS, dinner with the DDA gang, HS
Fri - 8/15 - Epcot

I've asked the kids and Bob if there is anything that they don't want to do, and all said that they could skip AK this time around. That makes planning easier!
Sounds good!

Absolutely -- prayers said.

So DS won 3rd place! Yay! :yay: Now we don't have to fight about who has to drive the display board to the other school! He got a nice medal and a certificate. He did very well playing the snare and the bass drum.

I am starving so I am going to go find some dinner!

Congrats to DS on the Science Fair!

That is wonderful news. I'm sure she will knock their socks off. PD for an apartment and moving.

Have a Great day,

Good luck with the doctor appt.!

Kristine -- still sending prayers and PD your way.

Anne Marie -- that sounds like a lot of fun -- good for you for taking Katie.

We had crazy weather yesterday. Warm and humid when we got up, thunderstorms and hail around lunch, then cooler and lots of wind in the afternoon/evening. PD to those who had terrible storms yesterday.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Congrats!!! Remind me what his project was about. I filled out Nicholas' entry form and he will turn it in tomorrow. He is also staying after school for the student meeting tomorrow.

We washed flame resistant material different amounts of time to see if washing it made it burn differently. They gave awards in all 3 grade levels in several different categories (life science, physical science, chemistry, etc.) so it was a lengthy process! The awards started at 5th place, but not every category had 5 winners. I wish we would have had time to go look at the projects but the evening was so packed we didn't have a chance.

Congrats Jen! That is a huge personal milestone.

Congrats, Jen!

Wow! That seems like a pretty tight turnaround! I am happy for her, though! :)

Anne Marie - The play sounds like fun! Glad you aren't tired!

Robyn - I'm glad the girls had fun! I can't handle screaming. :scared:

Jennifer, Janet, Bernadette & Tammi - We are booked for dinner at Cape May on 8/14/08 at 5:45 PM. Our only other choice was 8:55 or separate tables. Hopefully that works for everyone! :thumbsup2

Princess has school today. Not much else on the agenda! We're supposed to have play group with the "clique-y" moms at a McDonald's but we will probably skip it. That particular McDonald's has the most inaccessible parking lot in town so I have never been inside, but Princess is too small to climb in those play scapes. Not to mention that the way they have play group timed means we encounter all the elementary kids as they get out of school.:scared1: We really need a new play group!

Elin hope your daughters move goes smoothly!

Anne Marie sounds like you had a nice evening!

Debbie good luck at the Dr's today :wizard:

Bernadette :yay: on getting the stroller, glad you are happy with it.

We had a cold rain yesterday that started around noon. Now it is snowing, the boys are bummed because there is still school :rotfl:

I got my few ADR's made this morning for our August trip. Now I just wait to see if there will be any AP discounts or P&PP's!

Argh. :headache:

DH just called. I had mentioned how DS NEVER uses his locker. For some reason today he went by the locker to get his art supplies out because art is over - he is in computer this semester. His lock is gone, all of his art supplies have been stolen.

We aren't sure what all was in there. Sketching pencils, colored pencils, crayons, markers are definitely all gone. With all those blasted supply lists that came home and all the duplication on them I have no clue what else might have been stolen. I don't think the monetary value of it was all that much.

Now there is no way he will start using a locker. He will continue to drag 35 pounds of stuff around in his backpack and he will be completely paranoid about people stealing his stuff. DH is mad because DS doesn't even know how long it has been since he went to the locker so he doesn't know when it happened. Doesn't matter, really, because his stuff is gone. I guess it is good that it happened now when he is finished with art so I don't have to go replace all that stuff! He has plenty of art supplies at home.

When Laura was in 7th grade, her locker was jammed. She told the main office and then had to go to class. The custodians fixed the locker and left it wide open. Do you want to guess what was left in her locker when she got out of class? Almost nothing except her textbooks. Her binders, pens/pencils, a calculator, a jacket, etc. were all gone! And the main office didn't even think that was a real problem when I contacted them.

Tell DS that I am sorry. And frustrated for him. It's not his fault! :headache:
