DDA Chapter 3

Phew! I was worried about even mentioning it, because I knew there were codes available just the other day! :rotfl: I have to say, mypublisher is now 5 for 5 on gorgeous books. The cruise one came while I was in Tampa, and it's breathtaking! (The print, not the scrapping. I'm more modest than that ;)). I opted for a book jacket that has a full-bleed design of my cover, and I can't stop looking at it when I pass by. They do such a phenomenal job!
Pictures please!

Jennifer - I'm going to play "mom" here! You get off your feet NOW! Don't mess around. It's very important for you to take it easy right now. Nothing is as important as those babies you are carrying. Take it from me, the house will still be there after the babies are born, and you don't need to be worrying about it.

Now, young lady, you go lie down for a while and RELAX. Watch a chick flick, read a book, take a nap, just get off your feet for a while. Do it now before I jump on a plane and come out there for the next few months and make sure you are taking care of yourself!!!!!

I'd listen to her...though having Glynis around would be a treat. :lovestruc

You need to take care of yourself and those sweet peas....your house will still be there in 18 years:goodvibes

Any advice?

Nicholas got his report card today. They don't get letter grades yet, just numbers, so he is at where he should be, although he did get a comment saying that he makes careless errors because he works too fast and rushes to complete things. I've noticed this in the in-class work that he brings home. Any suggestions on how to get him to take his time and make sure everything is complete and correct.?

Elizabeth - I'm sorry about the whole locker ordeal. :sad2:

Thanks Marci. :goodvibes I miss Texas, so I wish I could help you out!

My guest room is finally free... you could always come visit! ;)

Elizabeth -- sorry about the locker -- Middle school is certainly not fun!

Kristine -- I'm sending prayers and lots of PD for you and Bill. You know we're here for you 24/7.

I guess I'd better go -- I just wanted to check on Kristine.

Andrew wants to play on Toontown. :scared1: (that is Andrew's favorite smilie...)

My new stroller came via UPS today and I love it! It feels several pounds lighter than the old stroller-maybe the old one has a few pounds of dirt on it? The seat is about 1/2 wider, 1" deeper and 1" taller. I think Emma will like the mesh seat in the heat of FL and the rear of the shade also rolls up for circulation. The carry strap is great-seems like it would very easy to get through airport and on/off busses with that. I am so glad I made the purchase!

That is great!! and such a good price too!!

Tammi-in one of the classes that i did my observing in, there was a girl that would rush through her assignments. The teacher started saying that they couldnt move on to another activity once they were done---what was happening was that the teacher would say after this paper, move on to another project...she was in such a rush to get to the next activity so she would rush...

not sure if he rushes at home too, but maybe set a timer for 20-30 min and say he cant get up until the timer goes off---maybe he will get bored and start rechecking

Good Morning DDA!

Just got Leighanna off to school. I should have put her arm floaties on! It is raining sheets! And... it is supposed to be "heavy" tonight! Whoa! What is this?!

Don't have time to respond to everyone's posts!

All the scrapbooking pages are great!

Deb and Vicki, good job on your sewing projects.
Alot of time when I am testing out new patterns, I use very inexpensive fabric $1.00 a yard or less. If I don't like how it comes out, I am only out my time and thread!

Time for Breakfast...... Hmmm..... I haven't taken out the trash yet!;) Wonder what everyone had last night....The good thing is, we're out of Bleach and Windex, so I should be fine!;) Time to dig something up!:rotfl:

Have a great day all!

The material that I used was about $2.50 a yard and it was less than 1-1/2 yards so it didn't cost me much in material. That was one of the things I was looking for when I picked out the material. I was thinking the same thing! :lmao:

Maybe we should get Lizzy & Joe together with Nicholas (and my friend Terry from FL's DD Halley). Lizzy & Joe are SOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOW. Joe's teacher said Joe's handwriting is great but it slows him down. I don't think Joe is as bad as Lizzy. I would love to know how to speed them up. Halley is too fast like Nicholas. I'll ask Terry if she's made any progress with Halley-she's just about Lizzy's age but since she was born 9/4/99 she's only in the 2nd grade. Terry wishes she had put her in private Kindergarten so she could be in 3rd grade now. She thinks Halley is bored.

No advice but I understand how frustrating it.

Here's Joe's handwriting and it isn't this neat because of the lines. It actually isn't as neat as he sometimes is.

Agreeing with everything Glynis said.

Checking in...

Not sure when I'll be able to check back in with you guys.

I told a couple of you on this thread last week that I believed I was pregnant....which I am.

Unfortunately, it has turned out to what doctors believe is an ectopic pregnancy. So joy has turned into sadness/fear very quickly in this household. Not really sure what the future holds right now....I am on daily monitoring...if levels do not decrease on their own I am facing possible surgery maybe even emergency surgery if the pain persists. As awful as it sounds, the better thing would be to have have a natural miscarriage......and unless something resolves very quickly, there will be no Disney trip.

Bill is completely out of his mind right now....after the doctor pumped him full of the ectopic risks (mainly the death one) he has been hovering all over me.

I did instruct him to call Marti & Marci should something happen.

Well, there you have it.

Oh Kristine. I'm so sorry to hear this. I was so hoping that it was going to be great news. Prayers and pixiedust: that if this is an ectopic pregnancy that you have a natural miscarriage.

:rotfl: Don't worry, I have hardly moved. I'll take a few things upstairs with me on my way to bed later. :rotfl:

Yay! I'm glad it is what you wanted! I appreciate the thought if we lived closer... we're currently looking at craigslist and freecycle, etc to stock up on things for my parents' house. I hadn't even thought about that initially!

Guess what came today???

Two Disney packages:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

A Disney Cruise planning dvd:cool1:

and

our Little Mermaid Soundtrack from the Broadway Show:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We are playing it now:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Elizabeth-I am sorry about the locker debacle!! The MS will not allow what DS does here....the kids are given lockers in their core classroom area. Both girls hated their locks and Abi's lock actually had to be replaced at the beginning of the year.

It's strictly an "at school" issue. At home he is sitting at the kitchen table doing his work, usually while I'm fixing dinner. Then I check it, and if there is something wrong, I'll give him a general area of the wrong thing. He has to then go through and find the mistake. His teacher did write a comment that she was going to try to come up with something to help him. I tell him to not rush, go back over answers again when he is finished, etc etc, but he needs to be able to do that on his own, not have me over his shoulder telling him that. Thanks Jen.

Thanks, Bernadette. Nicholas is ahead of a lot of his classmates so he thinks he "knows it", rushes through and makes careless errors.

Joe's handwriting is very neat. Maybe he could help Nicholas with that. ;)
