Well, I started calling the insurance office at 8:30 AM. They didn't turn their phones on until nearly 9:15. I got the head guy, told him I had a problem with a bill, and he passed me on to the little girl who handled our refinance. She is all of 20 years old and I don't know if she knows what she is doing or not.
I told her the bill is completely WRONG and somebody needs to fix it. Well, of course the billing isn't done in their office, it is done in some big central billing office and she couldn't tell from pulling up our account what they have done. Perfect. And she hasn't called back.
She did say that the premium they originally quoted us for DH's life insurance was a "preferred" rate. That infuriates me because he has a pre-existing medical condition that knocks him out of preferred and they KNEW that. They NEVER should have presented the rates for preferred because he doesn't qualify for them! That almost feels like bait & switch since they KNEW he didn't qualify and the policy that was ending was NOT issued as preferred.
I had DH call the Nissan automated system and the car still isn't paid off. It looks to me like maybe State Farm is going to drag their feet until we HAVE to make the February payment because the payoff amount from Nissan won't be valid anymore.

So now our savings over the course of the loan is down to $267 and we won't get the Feb. payment back because we will actually OWE that payment to Nissan.
We had "gap" insurance through Nissan that can only be canceled IN PERSON at the dealership if we want a refund on that. And I am willing to bet DH has to be the one to go because the Nissan paperwork is all in his name.
I am so mad about this that I am ready to cancel ALL of our policies and start over with a new insurance co. I don't know what sort of underhanded billing practices they are engaging in, but I refuse to pay an extra $150 that nobody can seem to explain where it came from.
So there you have it.
We had swimming today. Princess is in a class now with 3 other little girls. Those little girls have been in class together for 3 semesters, so they are quite the tight little clique. And one is a TERROR. The mother just sat there, too. Never made anything that even resembled a serious attempt to correct the behavior. The poor swim teacher is obviously uncomfortable getting really stern since the mom is RIGHT THERE.
I ended up not getting in the water today, which was fabulous, but I may leave there with my tongue bleeding every week if I have to keep biting it to keep from saying something ugly.

If Princess starts to misbehave because that other girl is being naughty then I am afraid I will say something, to the girl and to the mother. The mom was saying how she is applying to a particular private school and I was very tempted to tell her the child will NOT get in unless she learns to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.
Princess was VERY well behaved and sat on her little mat unless it was her turn in the water. I was very proud of her.
