DDA Chapter 3

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I am so sorry you had to deal with that. I've had a few "unmagical" (or just downright misinformed!) CM's in the past, but never anyone like that! That is inexcusable! :sad2: She's probably purposely garbling her name, so no one can report her!

I just called back to see if they could send me my confirmation. Guess what - my e-mail is still wrong. :headache: Seriously, it's just becoming funny at this point. The CM assured me she saved it in the right place this time (that's what they all say!), so I'm not holding my breath. Maybe I'll be surprised, though!

I hope she didn't ruin your day! :flower3:

Not mine! I figure hers must be awful every single day... poor thing!

Well, I started calling the insurance office at 8:30 AM. They didn't turn their phones on until nearly 9:15. I got the head guy, told him I had a problem with a bill, and he passed me on to the little girl who handled our refinance. She is all of 20 years old and I don't know if she knows what she is doing or not.

I told her the bill is completely WRONG and somebody needs to fix it. Well, of course the billing isn't done in their office, it is done in some big central billing office and she couldn't tell from pulling up our account what they have done. Perfect. And she hasn't called back.:furious:
She did say that the premium they originally quoted us for DH's life insurance was a "preferred" rate. That infuriates me because he has a pre-existing medical condition that knocks him out of preferred and they KNEW that. They NEVER should have presented the rates for preferred because he doesn't qualify for them! That almost feels like bait & switch since they KNEW he didn't qualify and the policy that was ending was NOT issued as preferred.

I had DH call the Nissan automated system and the car still isn't paid off. It looks to me like maybe State Farm is going to drag their feet until we HAVE to make the February payment because the payoff amount from Nissan won't be valid anymore. So now our savings over the course of the loan is down to $267 and we won't get the Feb. payment back because we will actually OWE that payment to Nissan.

We had "gap" insurance through Nissan that can only be canceled IN PERSON at the dealership if we want a refund on that. And I am willing to bet DH has to be the one to go because the Nissan paperwork is all in his name.

I am so mad about this that I am ready to cancel ALL of our policies and start over with a new insurance co. I don't know what sort of underhanded billing practices they are engaging in, but I refuse to pay an extra $150 that nobody can seem to explain where it came from.:headache:

So there you have it.

We had swimming today. Princess is in a class now with 3 other little girls. Those little girls have been in class together for 3 semesters, so they are quite the tight little clique. And one is a TERROR. The mother just sat there, too. Never made anything that even resembled a serious attempt to correct the behavior. The poor swim teacher is obviously uncomfortable getting really stern since the mom is RIGHT THERE.
I ended up not getting in the water today, which was fabulous, but I may leave there with my tongue bleeding every week if I have to keep biting it to keep from saying something ugly.;) If Princess starts to misbehave because that other girl is being naughty then I am afraid I will say something, to the girl and to the mother. The mom was saying how she is applying to a particular private school and I was very tempted to tell her the child will NOT get in unless she learns to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.

Princess was VERY well behaved and sat on her little mat unless it was her turn in the water. I was very proud of her. :)
You are just not having a good January, Elizabeth. Here's hoping February is much better. :wizard:

Tammi, when the picture layer that you want to rotate is selected, you can move your cursor towards any corner of it... when the arrow turns into a circular looking arrow, you can click and rotate the picture freehand as well. I hope that makes sense!

Elin, I hope you love the Segways! We love them so much we have planned trips to a couple of cities just to do the segway tours they offer. Kyle thinks we should open up a tour in Cincinnati. I say we just move to Celebration, FL and buy our own! :thumbsup2
Thanks.

After Elin learns how we can all go on the DC segway tour!

Well, CRO is driving me crazy too. I called back this morning to double check that all was well with my reservation and I got the NASTIEST CM I have ever encountered! She was so rude I almost ended the conversation before we really got started.

She told me that they had already sent out an email confirmation on January 27, and I had to have it... must be in my spam folder. I explained that it was not in my spam folder and that was why I was calling them back. She kept interrupting me to tell me it had already been sent on January 27. I finally stopped talking altogether. After a pause she said, "Is that all you want?" I asked if she could check if there were any AAA discounts available for the room we had booked and she said nothing at all to me. Just hung up the phone!

Unfortunately for me and every other unlucky soul who is going to get her on the line, I could not understand her name at all... none of the three times I asked her to repeat it or spell it. I was also WAAAAY too mad to speak to her supervisor. I cut my losses this time. But if I ever get her on the phone again (and I WILL recognize her voice) I will ask for her supervisor immediately or hang up without explanation.

Oh, and I STILL don't have that email confirmation! :rotfl:

Yikes! I think I would have hung up on HER!

I love Boston too and my brother and his family live there so that make her mama feel a little better. ;) Since I know Boston well, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why someone who was born and basically raised in the south would really want to go where it is so cold! :rotfl:

We lived in Brockton when I was little. I love New England but I am not good in the cold. I guess if you LIVE in the cold you own the proper clothing and equipment to deal with it. But I am still better off in a warm climate. The thing I DON'T miss about FL is the bugs. The giant flying tree roaches and the huge wolf spiders, to be exact. Which is funny, because while they are all over the St. Pete area I never see them in WDW.:confused3

I hope she didn't ruin your day! :flower3:

I signed up for a planning DVD yesterday in DH's name with an e-mail we don't use that often. Of course the street address is the same, but maybe we'll get a code anyway!:rotfl2:

Elizabeth, how frustrating! I can't believe how much trouble this has been already!

Yeah, I'm thinking I am just about at max capacity for dealing with insurance. :headache:

Not mine! I figure hers must be awful every single day... poor thing!

Perhaps she would enjoy a lucrative career in the insurance industry...

You are just not having a good January, Elizabeth. Here's hoping February is much better. :wizard:

You know, I didn't think it was too bad up until I opened that stupid bill!

I'm so sorry, Elizabeth.

For what it's worth, we used to use State Farm for everything, but when we moved into our house, their homeowners policies were a joke. So, we switched that and our auto insurance to Amica, and have been very, very happy with them!

I'm trying to motivate myself to start sewing. Right now I'm freezing and just want to curl up in bed. That would be a bad idea as I would fall asleep.

Well here is my creation. I'm just starting to play around with things have haven't really read any tutorials. Hopefully I will get better.

ChristmasPage1.jpg

I love the picture and the stuff you've done to it! It is such an incredible picture of both you and Bob! You look so tremendously happy!

I'm taking the afternoon off from work because I'm cold and not feeling well. I don't think I'll get any sewing done today. I hope you get yourself motivated. I'm curled up on the recliner with my blanket.

It is FREEZING here! I'm so cold I want to turn the heat way up to some horrible number! I'm wrapped in a sweater, a shawl, and the fleece blanket Karen made me for Christmas. Brrrrr! Alan just called and told me that we are going to see our niece in a high school production of Hamlet tonight. All I want to do is soak in a hot tub and then curl up in my flannel jammies with a good book! Oh well!

It rained here today - the weather was unseasonably warm. I wish I could pass it on to Glynis and Deb and Vicki! I think I'd rather have snow and sun over rain and gray.

Feel better soon everyone!

We have major snow coming down now. I just hope the temp doesn't drop anymore. It was above freezing and things were melting. That usually means slippery roads.

I'm so sorry, Elizabeth.

Amica, huh? Hmmm...
Well, basically the little 20 year old girl can't make heads or tails out of my bill, either! And she is tired of trying, so she has decided to let the more senior agent handle it. And the more senior agent ISN'T IN THE OFFICE TODAY! Ding ding ding! I told you that would happen!
The Youngster was able to shed a little light on this whomping bill. DH's life policy (the new one) is retroactive back to the date we APPLIED for it. So. They undercharged us for December because they quoted us the wrong rate. We now owe the difference between the quote and the premium for Dec, ALL of the premium for January, and now ALL of the premium for Feb! AND they have made us pay for the OLD life policy for Dec and Jan and it is on the bill for Feb! WHY are they billing us for 2 separate policies for THREE MONTHS?:headache: Then there is an outstanding balance of $42 that nobody can explain.:confused3 It's just $42 that we owe because they say so. I have a little news flash for them. If they want to bill us for Dec and Jan for the new policy then they need to refund us what we paid on the old one, AND they need to deduct the charge for Feb for the old policy, too. DH's old life policy should have been canceled as soon as the new one took effect, which was APPARENTLY back in December BEFORE he had any of the lab work done. Boneheads.

I could use a nap. ;)

Elin what a nasty CM you had

Elizabeth sorry things are still not taken care of with the Ins. Sounds like a big mess :sad2:

We are under a blowing snow advisory till midnight. Our temps are sitting at 19 right now, it is snowing & the winds are gusting! Our forecasted windchills aren't looking to good for tonight  Deb, Vicki, & Glynis I hope you all stay warm. I am in my pj's wrapped up in blankets on the couch.

Hope you all stay warm, I won't tell you that I came home and turned the AC on. . . . .

Jennifer, you have started something very addicting, in a few months you'll have two little additions that will require "LOTS" of pictures.

Jennifer (bear74) it's been a while since we've seen any pictures of your two princesses. (hint, hint)

I almost got motivated...then I realized that I hadn't washed the fabric yet. I'm about to throw it in the dryer now. Colby just fell asleep on the living room floor. I guess he must have been tired :rotfl:

Well I'm sorry for you north and midwesterners, but we had wonderful 50 degree weather. Nicholas rode his bike around the neighborhood while Alyssa and I walked. Then he and I played football in the yard while Alyssa chalked the driveway. We just came it because it was starting to cool off.

Hope you all stay warm, I won't tell you that I came home and turned the AC on. . . . .

Another cute design. I'm going to have to go find that free WDW stuff.

Well I am feeling worse & I sound funny when I talk..my chest hurts but I have great news!!!!

First, Katie came home with her report card. 7 A+'s & 1 A!!!!!!!!:cheer2:
I am so proud of her!!!!!!

She had 6 days absent (when she had strep before the holidays) She will have 4 more in April;) Thats the most she has ever been out for a year but she kept her grades up..I am so happy for her. And she's pretty thrilled right now herself and in a good mood so I will enjoy that while it lasts.:lmao:

The other news is (not sure if you all remember/know that I teach 3rd grade religion.) The boys in my class are rather disruptive to say the least. It has been very difficult getting them to do their lessons or even listen to a story. 2 of them just yell throughout the whole class & draw circles all over their work. One is just downright rude. :headache: After every meeting my head aches & I know the kids get nothing from it..all they want to do is go outside & play football. Then I have to sit with Daniel separately & do the whole lesson over. Well I called a mom from Daniel's school who mentioned she was doing religion next year. I asked her if she had room for Daniel & she does! So he will go to the religion class with his peers from his new school. And I will not have to yell through an entire hour lesson each week.
Can you say ..."Double bonus points!!!!!!!!!":dance3: :yay:  :worship: :upsidedow :woohoo:

I have Sophie in a class of a friend so she is taken care of. I will continue to teach the 6th grade girls who are an absolute pleasure & be able to focus on them all the more.

I'm sorry you are still feeling sick!
Yay for Katie's grades!
Those boys sounds like they need to be kicked out of the class! It also sounds like they need to be evaluated for autism or something. I'm sorry, but if they are that disruptive then it isn't the place for them. They are WAY too old to act that way. Sister had a pair like that in her Jewish education class but those boys were like 4 years old. I guess your students are what the boys become after several years of being allowed to run rampant. I'm glad you won't have to deal with them anymore! :thumbsup2
