DDA Chapter 3

Stephanie, please tell Terry that I hope she is feeling better soon. :wizard:

Well here is my creation. I'm just starting to play around with things have haven't really read any tutorials. Hopefully I will get better.

Looks wonderful Tammi! Did you do this in photoshop?

Well here is my creation. I'm just starting to play around with things have haven't really read any tutorials. Hopefully I will get better.

I just looked at all of Clare's pages. There is no way mine could ever be that good. I just don't have the time or the creativity. Deep sigh.

Looks wonderful Tammi! Did you do this in photoshop?
Yes. I downloaded a free Christmas kit. I haven't figured out yet how to angle the picture. I guess maybe I should read. :rolleyes1

Thank you.

September 27-October 1... AKL CL. We are going to do at least one of the concierge safaris and a Segway tour. And probably no special F&W events.

That sounds delightful! :goodvibes I think we're going to try their CL level in Dec. for a few nights. I'm excited to hear what you, Elizabeth, and Kristine think of the safaris!

We were supposed to do a Segway tour in May, but I'm having to cancel, since it will now be my mom instead of Jonathan coming with me, and she doesn't want to do it. Maybe December!

Blackberries are great unless they are for work! :lmao: Then it isn't so great! The good part is that I don't have to worry about setting it up and making sure it works. I have someone to do that for me. The problem is that it is up & working! :lmao:

You know, I've had a BB so long for work (I think I got my first back in '01 - they just looked like texting pagers then - no phone function!), that I'm used to it. I actually think it makes my life easier. I'm not necessarily expected to respond if I'm out of the office/on weekends, nights, etc., but it's nice to know what's going to hit you when you get to the office the next time!

Since I have to have one for work, I figured it was time to add my cell phone to it so I wouldn't be carrying around 2 devices all the time.

Oh, and the internet function still isn't there this morning.

We talked about it too, but it is just not his thing. And I am not going to go alone since I would never be able to eat everything like we did in October, Lindsay!

It looks like it will just be the two of us. Kathrin got a job offer from one of the firms in Boston this weekend. She is "thinking about it" mainly because it is the firm at the bottom of her list, but they offered her everything she asked for. And we are all very hopeful that Kristin will be a gainfully employed actor (or waitress) before September rolls around.

Congrats to Kathrin, and best wishes for Kristin too!

Yes, we did a fair amount of damage last October. :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

I just realized I blew through my milestone! I've been watching for it for 5 days. :lmao: Oh well, happy 9000 to me!

Congrats, Vicki!

And congrats to Chanon who had one earlier, and to Elin for the first one on the new thread!

I notice that Lindsay has had email address problems with CRO. There are a bunch of threads about how horrible it is. I have not received anything as confirmation that I have my reservation for September. I said something to the CM last night about never getting any emails from Disney and he double checked my address and said I would receive my reservation confirmation within a couple of hours. Well... it has been over 24 hours and nothing. I give up! I will call tomorrow and ask that they snail mail me a confirmation.

I'm thinking there is a new glitch in their system. I have always received e-mail confirmations from them, and I made a 1-night reservation at ASMu the other night, and I still don't have an e-mail (but can view the reservation on their website, so I know it exists!). Even if my e-mail address reverted to my work one, I should have still received it.

You think with all their $$, they could get a system that works!

Cassidy stayed home from school today...part mental health day and part just whatever we all had over the weekend. We spent a lot of the weekend in bed.....there was a malaise in my house...not sure it's completely gone and I must have stepped wrong sometime this weekend as my whole lower left side is in pain.

I hope you both get to feeling better! :wizard:

Chuck is still not feeling well. His throat is sore and he was having trouble talking without having coughing spasms. He is off to bed.

Lots of :wizard: :wizard: for Chuck, too!

I don't think I will try to make the girls outfits, but was thinking of making a light weight blanket for Virginia for WDW to cover us when she is nursing. '

When I was nursing in the parks I bought a white sheet with a Mickey Print, twin sized. I cut it in half and hemmed the raw edges. This gave me 2 sheets that I used for nursing and to cover the stroller when the boys were sleeping. The white color helped reflect the sun and the sheet wasn't too hot. We had the fans blowing on them too. Since you have girls you may be able to find a pretty light colored princess sheet. Just a thought.

Good Morning DDA,

Claire - great to see you, your photos are amazing, you and your mother look exactly alike.

Elin - Congrats to Kathrin on the job offer.

Deb and Vicki - love the patterns and material, can't wait to see the finished projects.

Jennifer - Glad to hear that you don't have kidney stones PD :wizard: for your back

Steffy - Good to see you, tell Terry that we are sending her lots of PD :wizard:

Bernadette - your pictures of the castle at night were awesome, I only aspire to take pictures like that one day.

Tammi - I hope that Alyssa is back 100 percent today, sorry about your X, my X dissappeared from his daughter's life, and in many ways it was better, we definitely didn't have a friendly divorce. Bob definitely sounds like a keeper, it reminds me of the day I saw my DH in a "different" light. My DD was sick with a bug but hadn't kept anything down in quite a while, he took us to the emergency room and stayed there with us for hours, she was showing signs of dehydration and they were going to admit her if we couldn't get some fluids in her, between the two of us we kept her sipping water until she was showing improvement. Watching him with my daughter really made me realize the kind of person he is, I can honestly say that I love him more today than I did 22 years ago when I married him.

Elizabeth - sorry to hear about your insurance woes, my medical bills are starting to come in from all this, even with insurance our portion isn't going to be a lot of fun.

Theresa - hope you're feeling better today also.

So after looking at all the wonderful scrapbook pages, I thought I'd try my hand, I hesitate to post this in comparison to the others, but her goes,

I love pictures!

That is very nice. I wouldn't have guessed it was your first attempt :thumbsup2

Thanks, Tammi. She is still working on things for the other firm that really interested her. After they interviewed her and saw her portfolio they asked her to do a caliper test (personality, etc., I believe) and a set of writings for one of their lines. She is doing all that at work today... :rotfl: She figures there is nothing at her current job to do so she might as well make use of her time!

The firm that gave her the offer contacted her again yesterday with additional incentives, so one way or another, I think she will be taking a job in Boston within a month!

Boston is lovely. And it's only 2 1/2 hours from me :goodvibes Even closer to Bernadette. Make sure she packs all of her warm clothes though, winter's in New England are bitter cold.

Well here is my creation. I'm just starting to play around with things have haven't really read any tutorials. Hopefully I will get better.

ChristmasPage1.jpg

That looks wonderful too. You are not giving yourself enough credit :thumbsup2

Yes. I downloaded a free Christmas kit. I haven't figured out yet how to angle the picture. I guess maybe I should read. :rolleyes1

Thank you.

Looks great Tammi,

to angle the picture you select the picture, then go to edit, transform, and then rotate.

Where did you find the Christmas kit, I love the photo corners.

So I got caught up just in time to leave. I need to pick up Logan and then take Colby to school. It is an open house day as he will be getting a new set of teachers. The high school students swap out 3 times during the year. My mother is short handed today so I may need to help her a bit too. I hope to sew this afternoon and evening.

Have a nice Day DDA.

I have a pot of brown rice cooking, it's a good think I read the package as I would have just done it like I do white rice. We'll see how this comes out.

I've come to love http://www.renysplace.com/pages/links.html for the links she offers!

Thanks for the link! :goodvibes

I will keep an eye out for the Cars layout/embellishments!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Here are the patterns that I bought.

I bet they'll turn out great, Deb!

I really am off to bed now. I had realized I forgot to send a picture of my sewing machine to the place that sells user manuals. They are seeing if they have a users manual for it. The company & model number didn't match anything they have but sometimes the same machine was manufactured under different company names but it was the same exact machine. I hope I get lucky. But then again, if I don't, that means a new machine. Hmmmmmmmmm, decisions, decisions! I guess it is out of my hands now. I'll see what the company says that has the manuals.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

Good luck!

Missed you all too! I'm hanging in here.

According to the email in 4 days my luck will change. :goodvibes :wizard:

I hope everything is wonderful for you again in 4 days' time. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Well, Alan finally made it home at about 9:15. I warmed up his dinner, and we put the kids to bed. I spent a few minutes catching up with him, and now I'm off to bed. My headache is FINALLY gone!!! Hope it doesn't find me tomorrow!

Night all!

Thanks for distracting me while Alan was driving!

So glad to hear he made it safely. Hope the headache stays away for good!

Terry still has no posts on this thread. She's not feeling well.

Tell her I hope she's feeling better! :wizard: :wizard:

so do I
I called work and told them I was not coming in. I hope I can get in to see the chriopractor tomorrow

I hope this morning finds you feeling better, Jennifer. :wizard: :wizard:

Hi Clare! I totally already shared your storytelling link. I wrote on your FB wall, but maybe you haven't seen it yet. About a dozen pages back, everyone was raving about your work! :teeth:

Well I obviously didn't go back far enough when I was checking in! :rotfl2:

First of all what a lovely thing to say about your DH. That is wonderful & I am glad you found each other.

Second your design looks great. I agree it does not look like a 1st attempt. Do you have to have photoshop to do online scrapbooking?

Thanks, Marci. :goodvibes I am so very proud of all that they both have done so far in their young lives and can only see better things for them in their futures. If they weren't my daughters I would want them to be my daughters' best friends.

I am excited about this trip too!

Hope you are not too sore as your day unwinds. Hopefully your muscles will tll! ;)
I love how you speak about your daughters. You are all so blessed. I hope I have that kind of relationship with my children as you do now. Sometime with Katies mood swings I wonder!:headache:

Well here is my creation. I'm just starting to play around with things have haven't really read any tutorials. Hopefully I will get better.

ChristmasPage1.jpg
Very nice!!!!!!!!!! I love all of the scrapbook things you guys are doing!

Tammi that's great!!! I'd like to know where you got the photo corners too so share the link! (...I kinda skipped over all the Christmas freebees...)

thanks not sure what the best fabric is for what we need.

I would think for a blanket for Disney, you want something that is lightweight but not see through. I like Deb's with the fleece on one side and the cotton on the other. However, that might be too heavy. When are you going to Disney again?

I like those patterns. I should go raid my Mom's collection of patterns, she used to have boxes and boxes full. Her best friends x-husband did lots of dumpster diving and found tons of patterns and other craft supplies.

But before I make something new, I have a winter coat that fits me well that someone gave me, but the sleeves are way too short. They are basically 3/4 length. I have been contemplating attempting to chop the fabric off the bottom because it is longer then I would like and making the sleeves longer, but I think it may be over my head. Although knowing me I won't ever make a darn thing.

I know the feeling there are things I would like to do but I cannot commit to something even once a week.

I will be raiding my mom's as well. She has thousands of patterns and lots & lots of material. However, I wanted a easy sew pattern and I didn't want to wait until I head over there.

You can do anything if you set your mind to it. It just matters whether it is important enough or not.

Wow! You guys sure have been chatty!

Vicki and Deb, like your patterns and fabric choices!

I thought about making a shirt and a top for my wife so that we could match Leighanna on our next trip.

Here's the outfit I made Leighanna out of that MM fabric.

Oh, and my baby is growing up! She has a loose tooth just waiting to fall out!

What a cutie! :goodvibes And the outfit isn't half bad either! ;) I hope Tink comes to visit her soon!

Hmmm........I don't see it.

Tammi - in Clare's flickr album, view them as a slideshow. You can then click in the middle of the picture (an "i" will appear), and info. will pop up as to any designs she used. Very cool! :thumbsup2

This could get addicting - although I just don't have time right now! :rotfl:

Clare - your designs are stunning! WOW!!! :worship:

Yes, strep is running rampant here too. Katie & Daniel have it & are on antibiotics. Now my throat & chest hurt when I cough..thankfully I am off today.

Hope it doesn't catch you, too, Anne Marie! :wizard:

I'm feeling a tad sore this morning, but it is self-inflicted. I finally got my lazy self back on the elliptical. Instead of working my way up in minutes, I got distracted by the DVRd Disney special I was watching and went the entire 30 minutes at a pretty quick pace. Now if I can motivate myself to do it again tonight...

Have a good day everyone.

Ouch - I hope the muscle aches ease! :wizard: But good for you getting back into shape!

We're doing pretty well here. Today Kyle is on call (30 hours + overnight), but it's his last 1.5 shifts on his current rotation! This has been the longest 35 days we've had in a LONG time. Next month is only slightly better (but better! I'll take it), and then he goes back to Pediatrics, where at least our days off fall on the weekends together (if and when he gets them). The last 4 months, his 3-4 days off per month are almost always during the week, which is no help at all! He's cracking me up lately. I swear about 3 times a week, he says "So when are the babies coming, I want to play with them" :)
I keep telling him he needs to exercise a little patience, and that it's still going to be QUITE a while

I have gone over a week with very little vomiting, very little Zofran use... which is thrilling. I still have ZERO energy, but we're managing. Thankfully work has slowed down a bit, although there's still a pretty large task looming over my head about figuring out a plan for when I leave. Oh, well. :)

I hope you all are doing well! I will certainly be back on, but in case I forget to say anything, I'll be in Tampa from Thursday-Sunday for meetings, with little to no free time. What the heck company makes meetings over the weekend (and without compensating anything extra for it, mind you?)

Have a great day, DDA!

I hope things continue to look up for both of you, Jennifer! :wizard:  If we don't see you, have a safe trip to Tampa!

I love pictures!

Love the page - but also love the story!

The temperature is 50 right now, by this afternoon it is suppose to drop to the 20's :scared1:

Yikes!

This weather is nuts - our low this morning was 66, but temps are to fall throughout the day until we're down in the 20's again tomorrow a.m. Right now the wind is HOWLING outside - I think it's supposed to have gusts up to 50 mph today. :scared1: I'm hoping the windows behind me hold. :scared:

Thanks, Tammi. She is still working on things for the other firm that really interested her. Wow - maybe she'll have some choices - and some good ones, too! How exciting for her! Boston is such a great city.

I just looked at all of Clare's pages. There is no way mine could ever be that good. I just don't have the time or the creativity. Deep sigh.

But look what you've already done! That's fabulous! :thumbsup2
