DDA Chapter 3

The most I've ever managed to do with photoshop is reverse the photo so I can print it out for a transfer. I have to try some tutorials or take a class as I would love to do some of those scrapbook pages.

Where do you find the backgrounds and embellishments? Where did you start?

Thanks for the link! Clare's are wonderful but so are yours!!!!

There are several digital scrapping sites (if you just google). There are some that have free stuff, but if you're looking for something specific you have to pay. Still, the price is cheaper than paper embellishments, and you can reuse them forever, repeatedly! Other times, you can use photoshop tricks (like bevels, shadows, etc) to make clip art or parts of photos, or just shapes (like a rectangular "ribbon") to add texture, depth, etc.

ETA: There are some tutorials available that I took when I first got photoshop... they aren't related to scrapping, but they are great to teach some of the tools that the software offers. Then I think, for me anyway, it just took lots of playing around -- and still, as you can see, some things turn out better than others.

Hope she has a wonderful time!

We also got Cassidy off to her friend's house for the dance...no new pics...didn't see a reason with just different shoes. But she is cute.

It is to late for me to order this month, our pick up day was the 19th. I'm like you & will pass on Feb's. Hopefully I will remember to check for March!

it was our first month.....I kept looking for it to be in CO and gave up about six months ago. Somebody on the budget board mentioned it at the beginning of January...I am so glad they did.:goodvibes

I'll try and remind you for March. Our pickup date for February is March 1st so I'm not sure when the menu will be up.

off to watch The Game Plan.....I go to insideredbox.com to find freebie codes for redbox's...I love renting movies for free. :goodvibes

You fireworks photos are amazing:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think you are the first person ever that felt the same way about 20. Most people think I'm nuts. Of course, you still have the 40 milestone to see if that one bothers you. :lmao: It didn't phase me. I had a big party to celebrate. party:

So we should plan a DDA meet for Sept 2009 to celebrate :cool1: :cool1:

You're very welcome, I'm knocking on wood as I type this, but I have actually felt better today. I have poured several soft drinks down the drain trying to find a diet one that I can stand, I think the winner will be diet Sunkist. Crystal light isn't that bad either, I am a Dr. Pepper-a-holic, so giving that up is a big hurdle, but a necessary one. I have tried diet Dr. Pepper and it just won't do.

My oldest DD is coming over tomorrow and I plan on sending her home with some groceries, DH said we needed to throw them out, but that would be a waste.

I was always a Coke girl, but now I drink diet wild cherry pepsi. It has the best flavor in my book. Diet Sprite is palatable. We also like the flavored waters like fruit20 The grape and raspberry are my favorites. Once you get away from the regular sodas and adapt to the flavor changes you won'd be able to stand the taste of regular sodas again.

I loved Jennifer and Clare's scapbooks. They are very nice and I'm a bit jealous. Jen I'm enjoying your cruise report too. Off to look at Robyn's photos now.

I didn't get as much accomplished today as I hoped. I am afraid I'm coming down with what Chuck has. He is miserable. He can't get warm, his throat is sore, etc. I ended up laying down for a nap with him and I slept for 2-1/2 hours. I hope it doesn't get any worse.

i hope you arent getting sick---everyone here isnt feeling too great..no fun at all

What's everyone else doing tonight? I'm just sitting here watching TV. I taught mom how to rip CD's for her mp3 player.

We are going to make a several pots of soup tomorrow - Corn-potato chowder, Italian Sausage, and cheese-broccoli. I bought a new stock pot today as well as single serving containers to freeze it. Once they are frozen, we'll put them in the vacuum bags.

Ok, the boards are running much faster but there is no one here to chat with? :confused3

I am having trouble getting used to Windows Vista...it seems so different to me...I keep having to trouble shoot little glitches

I do not want to go to Vista or the new Office. Way too different for my taste.

Thanks, everyone! Glynis -- the crowds were very light except at night when The NAMM Show let out. Then, the 100,000 people who didn't care to hit all the concert venues would head over to DL and DCA and DD and it would get crowded. We basically walked onto every ride, even Buzz Lightyear!

I tried Space Mountain on this trip and LOVED it. It is so smooth, much better than the one at WDW. I HATE that ride there.

I was going to ride California Screamin' because Patrick promised (a) "it is as smooth as Space Mountain, Mrs. H!" and (b) he would hold my hand the whole way! :rotfl: But when we got there the last night it was down for technical problems. Guess I will have to go back now!

I'm so loving your pictures!!! Brings back wonderful memories. I love Space Mountain! Since the remodel, it's become one of my favorite rides! It's just amazing. Yes, you need to try California Screamin'! It's positively the best roller coaster in the world!!!

I'm so thrilled that you got to see Aladdin. What did you think of it? We love the show. My kids think it's great! They love the parade scene, and all the Genie stuff! Fabulous!

I WANT TO GO BACK NOW!!!

I'm here. Just waiting for the Miss America pageant to start. I have to cheer on Miss Utah! She attended Southern Utah University which is where I went to school. She is a real G.I. Jill! She has served at least one tour in Iraq. She's such an amazing role model for young women. I hope she does well, but who knows!

I am contemplating installing XP drivers and putting XP on the new computer...not sure if that would be easy or not.
