DDA Chapter 3

My mom has no clue when it comes to computers.
She will be 65 in September.

What do we need to do to get your mom on here? :lmao: My mother turned 65 this year. She was 18 for 8 days when I was born. How old is your mom?

Thank you everyone. Yes like Terry, this is the best choice for me, so the sooner the better.

:woohoo: Congrats to DS!

I don't think I said congrats to Katie. Sometimes I think I hit the multi quote but don't do it so....

:woohoo: Congrats to Katie!!!!!

How did I miss this the first time? Thanks! Wish I didn't worry about the 80K but I just can't help myself. I'm an accountant I like things to balance out but the girl at this partner company isn't an acccountant.

I bet it would drive me crazy too. When I worked as a lead cashier at a computer store I was short $5k at the end of the night. After stressing and counting over and over again the safe and tills I finally found it. In my back pocket. I had to do a register pull and got busy and stuffed it in there and then forgot it about. That was scary, I can't imagine $80k.

Robyn your girls are beautiful!!! I can't believe how grownup they are looking.

Thank you. Molly looked sooo different to me all dolled up.

Our cake lady just called to confirm delivery of DS's cake!:dance3:

Happy Birthday to DS! Yum, :cake:

She has got to be one of the happiest babies that I have ever seen.

Very happy!!

My kids are on the new student council at the community college and Chuck is the advisor. Bay de Noc Community College is based in Escanaba. They have had a satellite campus here for years. They built a West campus here that opened this fall. Becky is a Council rep for the Arts & Letters and Katrina is the secretary. The first council meeting was tonight.

:cheer2: Congrats to the girls!! :cheer2:

I promise I read everything. All the sick kiddos have my good thoughts and all you crafty DDAers have my utmost admiration!

I hope no one else gets sick in any house anywhere in this big ole USA! And I hope your weather all works itself out very soon. For whatever you want it to be! :rotfl:

Jennifer - I wonder if Virginia is teething?

Robyn - Miss Lucy is just precious.

Thank you!

Kathrin is headed back to Boston on Friday for a second interview with company #2. They loved her writing samples and she "passed" their caliper tests as they thought she would. She is required to meet with their CEO before they can offer her a job, so she is making a flying trip up there. I cannot believe her boss in Richmond STILL doesn't know what is going on! Good thoughts need to wing her way, please!!

Good thoughts and some :wizard: for Kathrin.

Congrats on the milestone Miss Jennifer! :teeth: I agree with whomever posted that Virginia might be teething...either that or she found a new hobby! :rotfl:

Robyn - Lucy is just too cute!!!!

Feel better Vicki!

Here's my third attempt - my first two are on the other computer and Bob deleted them already. Go figure. It's not my favorite...there really are too many things to figure out at once with this thing! I need a manual. There has to be a "Dummies guide to Photoshop" right??
AnimalKingdom.jpg

Night everyone!

Thanks Chanon! Your page looks fabulous!

Congratulations on all the recent personal milestones!

Lots of good thoughts for Kathrin! :wizard:

Love the picture of Lucy! Matthew is such a sourpuss compared to your happy girl, Robyn! :goodvibes

Jennifer, I use bright colored curling ribbon on our luggage and stroller. I haven't had to replace it in years! :thumbsup2

Congrats to all the kiddos (and parents, too) for the good grades! We received Alyssa's first official preschool progress evaluation today. Apparently she needs to work on "using scissors with control." :rotfl:

Hope everyone feels better ASAP!

That's because he is the second- soon to be middle child! Molly is a sourpuss 90% of the time. Hope Alyssa's control improves :rotfl:

Hi everyone, I am sorry I have not been posting, I was so upset having to see us start a new thread. I just do not understand why it had to be done. I am unhappy that the old one cannot be found. I forgot to write down things I wanted to look up and now cannot remember what they were. I guess I just had a pi$$y attitude and wanted to whine, whine, whine.

I really am doing good. I did stay home yesterday because the bathroom and I became intimate friends all day. I had soup today for lunch but it did not like me. I came home and had tea and crackers tonight and rested on the recliner for a few hours with a few cuddly kitties making sure to lay on my belly which actually helped. Purring is so soothing. :goodvibes

So now I have to catch up.

Sorry you aren't feeling well, but it's good to see you here.

Ok enabling time - anyone who wants to learn how to scrap on photoshop or elements (which is the next best thing at a fraction of the price) go to jessicasprague.coma dn sign up for her up and running course:

Up & Running with Photoshop : February 18-March 16. Registration begins February 11.

I think it's about $50 but worth every penny - I'm in the middle of the advanced class and it is brilliant - you do one main lesson a week where you learn tons of stuff and each day jess emails a freebie or a challenge of some sort. We were given a huge freebie kit which is great - and all the materials you need to participate are included in the price. Clear your schedules and treat yourselves!
Thanks! I'll have to look at that.

Morning DDA! :wave2: I get to leave early for work today thanks to 40 mile an hour winds! The news this morning showed photos of bent flag poles from last night...

Stay warm!
Stay safe!

I hope you both feel better soon!:wizard:
Thanks! Emma was vomitting this morning. Lizzy & Joe have an early release day. Lizzy was supposed to go to a Girl Scout skating party but the school nurse called and said she was sick. Not vomitting (yet) but she's moaning on the couch with Emma. Emma is laughing at Dora so I think she's feeling a bit better. I was feeling achy so I stayed home.

I got no sleep last night. Throat still hurts & so does my stomach but I was called into work today so that should be fun....not.
Hopefully it will be a slow day.

After work, I have religion. Yes, my boys will be here tonight. I think what I am going to do is if they can't calm down & stop yelling & am going to just call their parents to come get them. I am not going to try to read over their yelling especially the way I feel today.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for everyone whose not feeling well!

Have a great day!
:wizard: Hope you make it through work OK. I would have your phone in hand for today's class!

Today is DS's birthday. :) He said he is going to try to get all of his work done in class today so he won't have very much homework. I know he is disappointed about having to stay for band.
:joker: :cake: party: :bday:Happy Birthday! :bday: party: :cake: :joker:

Enjoy the cake!

Well, the temperature here is -15 before the wind chill. The wind is howling and the trees are swaying! All the schools in the area are closed. It's a pretty nasty day out there.
Stay warm!

I hope you all are doing well. I had an absolutely AWFUL night.

not really. it must be the way I'm sleeping I slept on my right side with a pillow behind my back. Nut when I went to move to get Virginia the spasms started again they are all on the left side. I took a hot shower around 545 when Jeff got thru with his. he had to be at work at 6. I took some adbil around 615 right now i have a heating pad on it and if I try to stretch wich the drs told me to do it spasms. I need to get better I have to work tomorrow.
I had back problems after I had Lizzy. I would get a spasm and litterally couldn't breath. I had to take something pretty strong for it. Lizzy wasn't breast feeding well so I just had to give up on it. Hope you can find something that works for you.

I am here at work and I cannot believe that my stomach is still feeling very nauseous. The hot tea is just not working.

It is very windy here too. Had to do the swerve and weave to avoid hitting trash cans on the way to work :scared1:
Hope you're feeling better soon. Stay safe!

she will be 10 months this year she will be 22 months next year
all advice appreciated
Emma was 11 1/2 months old on her first trip and 21 months old on her 2nd. She was great on both trips. I did get permission from her doctor to switch her to milk before her first trip. I was still bf before bed too. She was already using a sippy cup but still needed a bottle to really settle down. The biggest problem I had with her was she wasn't walking and slept a lot in the stroller in the parks. She didn't get enough "floor" time so she didn't sleep well at night. She was a great sleeper at home but I had rented her a full size crib from ABBF and she just didn't want anything with it on that trip. I did try to get her some "floor" time at the resort when the other 2 napped. At 21 months she was awesome! She was walking so she slept really well.

I never knew that until last Saturday when we were at dinner with DS's friends and his friend said something about it.
You need to have that friend over more often.

I'm working on organizing my paperwork so that I can be more efficient for work. My office really needs to get done. I'm so much closer than I have ever been. I can't believe that I'm still motivated to work on it even though I am down to the hard stuff to decide on. This is usually where I stop because I just don't know what to do with it. I've decided this time, it will either find a permanent home or it will be gone from my home!!!!
Good luck!

I finally found it
Isn't it nice to see?

Robyn,

So glad you had a good trip and the drive was good.

Love the pictures.

Thank you! I need to get started on a trip report but I am not very good with words.

I just finished through day 4 only 2 more days to go - 56 more photos to add photopass borders to.

Time for bed!

You're almost there! I have no idea where I am but I'm steadily making progress.

Calling all you budding scrappers...

http://ndisb-adsr.blogspot.com/2008/01/are-we-there-yet.html

If you want to learn some tricks and tips and get some inspiration and freebes along the way then sign up for the amazing race - digi style. you'll need a partner and it lasts about 6 weeks I think - but it's fun and will encourage you to scrap. You get a freebie for every stage you complete and they gave some good stuff away last year.

http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp

The BEST freebie kits you will find - just download these and you can make layouts galore that will look gorgeous.

Thank you so much for those Clare. I really think that I need to just suck it up and figure out Photoshop. I can easily pull out the laptop during the day but there is no way I can scrap traditionally with the kids all day.

Good Morning DDA,

I don't have time to catch up this morning, I have a March of Dimes kickoff luncheon today so I better take a little more time getting ready and try and look presentable.

Have a great day and I'll check in this evening.

Debbie

Hi Debbie! How did the luncheon go?

I got no sleep last night. Throat still hurts & so does my stomach but I was called into work today so that should be fun....not.
Hopefully it will be a slow day.

After work, I have religion. Yes, my boys will be here tonight. I think what I am going to do is if they can't calm down & stop yelling & am going to just call their parents to come get them. I am not going to try to read over their yelling especially the way I feel today.

:wizard: for everyone whose not feeling well!

Have a great day!

:wizard: that you start feeling better. Hopefully work wasn't too bad.:goodvibes

What a doll! I love the mini pigtails!

I got on the elliptical again last night. Now that I'm doing better with exercise, I need to get my eating under control. I've been doing better, but I'm still hungry all of the time. I'm getting tired of munching on carrots and apples...

Have a great day everyone! :)

Thanks Marci- Eric hated them!! Good for you. I need to start drinking my water again. I was up to 80 + ounces a day before WDW. Now I have no taste for it. I am drinking Crystal Light Peach tea, which I know can't last long. Since it has aspartame I will have horrible headaches if I keep it up.

I have signed up to go,but have not heard anything since that day. I did sign up for the email list. I know things initially went in my SPAM box, so I am not sure if I missed anything or not

So my Strawberry soup is made, I need to get dressed and head to work.

It is about 50 degrees outside, but windy and rainy and it is supposed to be in the upper 20's by the time the day is over. Can I stay home??:confused3 :confused3 :rotfl:

Have a great day and I hope the sickies feel better.:wizard: :wizard: I hope no one gets blown away.

If you have any soup leftover- send it my way. Molly   that soup at 1900 PF. She ate 3 bowls!

Well, the temperature here is -15 before the wind chill. The wind is howling and the trees are swaying! All the schools in the area are closed. It's a pretty nasty day out there.

:scared1:

I hope you all are doing well. I had an absolutely AWFUL night. The winds picked up again (our giant gas grill ended up 2 lots over, if that's saying anything), I slept about 45 minutes, and had a massive asthma attack when trying to sleep in the guest bedroom. What the heck?! New allergy to the comforter? I know we keep that room clean, and everything is washed fairly regularly, so again -- what the heck? My chest is still killing me.

Oh well. I'm leaving early today, and if Eric suggests otherwise I will probably just kill him, however inadvertently. :rolleyes1

Have a great day! :teeth:

Jennifer- I am sorry you are having such a rough go. :wizard: and 's

not really. it must be the way I'm sleeping I slept on my right side with a pillow behind my back. Nut when I went to move to get Virginia the spasms started again they are all on the left side. I took a hot shower around 545 when Jeff got thru with his. he had to be at work at 6. :wizard:

Whoa! It is FREEZING cold out there! The winds are fierce!

Just got back from taking Leighanna to school! I didn't want her waiting outside in this wind and cold for very long!

Terry, nice to see you posting here!

Robyn, Lucy is an absolute doll!

Everyone's scrapbooking pages look great! I have saved alot of the info in my favorites. I just don't know if I have time for another "hobby"!:rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Tom!! Hope the Tooth Fairy visits soon, how exciting!

Emma and Molly wore their dresses to school yesterday and everyone loved them! One of my girlfriends saw them in the pics and wanted to know where they came from. She wants some for her girls, she said she is jealous!

Good morning, everyone!

Terry - So good to see you! I hope that today is a better day and the ickies are gone.

Anne Marie - I would SO call the parents tonight. Maybe it will do some good in the long run as well, but it is a must when feeling crappy too.

Chanon - Love the page! I'm certain that there is a dummies book out there. There are also a few digital scrapbooking books that might help as well.

Jennifer - I hope that today is the day that your back decides to heal itself! Take care. As for the stroller, I ususally have thing in it that are identifiable enough. We have tied a yellow bandana on the handle in the past as well. It made it easier the time with travelled with my parents. I could send my dad for the stroller and he'd know what to look for since he hadn't a clue what the stroller itself looked like.

To most - Stay warm! It's cold here today too. Plus, they've already issued a winter storm warning for tomorrow afternoon. Apparently, the storm hasn't even fully formed yet, but they're calling for 6+ inches of snow. Guess Terra will get to break out those snow pants after all.

Jennifer - Hope you can get home early and get some rest. :wizard: that the attack doesn't happen again.

Robyn - Love the new sig pictures. Lucy is just so cute and the girls look absolutely lovely.

Thanks Tia! Hope Terra gets to use her snow pants. I doubt we'll need them this year.

I got a lot of nice comments about my stroller photo. :lmao: People actually waited for us to come out of ITTBAB, so they could see DGD in person. :rotfl:

I looked at my Paypal, and my payment for the Magic MouseMeet came out February 20th..

All of the pictures look great!!:woohoo: I love Lucy!!

I really love the digital scrapbook pages. :surfweb:

All the sickies... be well!!:wizard:
And yes, I am the senior member of the DDA...

:lmao: BY TEN DAYS!!!!!:rotfl2:

Hi Steffy- That stroller tag is just so you!! Thanks!! I love Lucy too! :goodvibes

Too cold for me!
I didn't realize it was only 35 here until I got outside. We had those big winds yesterday but it isn't nearly as windy today.

I hope you have an easy day! :wizard:

Tammi - I haven't heard anything from the insurance people today, but they don't even get to the office until just about now. Of course the lady wasn't there at all yesterday so the first hour or so today she will be listening to voice mails, reading e-mails, whatever. When she gets around to me she will have to call the billing office first so there is NO TELLING when (or if) I will hear from them today.

Elizabeth- I hope that your messes get cleared up soon!

I don't think I have ever wanted to hug a baby as much as I'd love to hug Lucy, Robyn! She is just too cute! Love the little pigtails, too! :thumbsup2

Aww, thanks Lindsay. Feel free to stop by anytime for a hug!

Who wants to celebrate with me?

My obgyn, said today that its about time to have a hysterectomy.

Heidi, that's good news for you if it will help solve a lot of issues.

I had to run Lucy back to the Drs this morning as she has been wheezing the last few nights. Her cough also came back. So after having them squeeze us in and waiting for over an hour, she checks out fine. Dr said her lungs sound clear and that she just has a cold. I guess that good but she sounds a lot like she did before we left. Eric thinks it's something in the house as she was normal the whole time in WDW. I guess it could be the weather changes.

The nurse said that she lost a pound since her last visit which was 3 days before we left. I don't think I should worry about that as at first she when she weighed her she said Lucy weighed 22lbs. I really would find it hard to believe that she gained 6lbs in 2 weeks. The office staff drives me crazy.

Bernadette - You know, I don't even know how DS and his friend got on the topic of his lanyard getting caught. They were on the other end of the table from me. I did indicate to DS later that I wished he would have TOLD ME when that happened! Of course now they have to wear the school-issued lanyards which don't break. :headache: I might have to challenge that. DS said they will be written up for not having their ID if it is on an unapproved lanyard.

Robyn - I hope Lucy isn't getting sick again!

Thanks for the b-day wishes for DS! :goodvibes

I called the insurance office but SURPRISE! the lady I need is still out to lunch! How convenient for her! Now it is almost time to go get Miss Princess.

Hi everyone!

11 days til WDW! I can't believe it.

Jackie is sick today...hopefully she recovers in time for her party on Friday.

Scrapbook projects look great!

Lucy is a cutie!

Here's my third attempt - my first two are on the other computer and Bob deleted them already. Go figure. It's not my favorite...there really are too many things to figure out at once with this thing! I need a manual. There has to be a "Dummies guide to Photoshop" right??

Night everyone!

Wonderful!!

Glad to have you back. I hope you get some relief from the sickness soon. Yay for a trip to see your sister!

As for distinguishing the stroller, Stephanie made a printout of her DGS's picture and put it in a plastic sleeve with the words "If this is not your kid, this is not your stroller" or words to that affect

Oh, that is just perfect! :rotfl: :rotfl: :thumbsup2

I just finished through day 4 only 2 more days to go - 56 more photos to add photopass borders to.

Time for bed!

Almost there! I only had about 200 photos to work through, and that was plenty for me!

*eek* don't let Bob delete your masterpieces!

Ok enabling time - anyone who wants to learn how to scrap on photoshop or elements (which is the next best thing at a fraction of the price) go to jessicasprague.coma dn sign up for her up and running course:

This is great, Claire. I'm with Tammi - is this something you can do at your own pace each week, or must you be available at a certain time? (Of course, maybe these details are on the website that I haven't looked at yet! ;) )

Morning DDA! :wave2: I get to leave early for work today thanks to 40 mile an hour winds! The news this morning showed photos of bent flag poles from last night...

Stay warm!

Yikes! We had a lot of brush fires and downed trees and power lines around here yesterday. Where did these winds come from?! It's not nearly as bad today, thank goodness!

I got no sleep last night. Throat still hurts & so does my stomach but I was called into work today so that should be fun....not.

Today is DS's birthday. :) He said he is going to try to get all of his work done in class today so he won't have very much homework. I know he is disappointed about having to stay for band.

:bday: Happy Birthday to DS!

I got on the elliptical again last night. Now that I'm doing better with exercise, I need to get my eating under control. I've been doing better, but I'm still hungry all of the time. I'm getting tired of munching on carrots and apples...

Have a great day everyone! :)

Good job, Marci!

I need to get my snacking under control, too. I am not normally a huge sweets person (despite my penchant for cake! ;) ), but I have not met a piece of Valentine's candy that I haven't made friends with yet. :scared: If I keep this up, I will be the size of a house by V-Day!

Well, airfare for Feb - May is down to $179 round trip on American! MUCH better than $377! The flight DH would need going TO MCO looks like it might go pretty low, coming home looks like it might stay expensive. But that's life in the big city.
If we can get a $79 one way to MCO I will grab it, then I'll just watch and see what we can do for getting him back home. Right now the August flights are still $377.

Thanks for the tip, Elizabeth! I think AA is trying to match the big sale Airtran is/was running for the same price. The good news is that my Southwest ticket which dropped almost $150 from when fares were first released several months ago, just dropped another $30. I need to fly SWA to meet my mom (and I have a credit), so this was a perfect time to book! I'm only paying about $10 more than the American fare.

Well, the temperature here is -15 before the wind chill. The wind is howling and the trees are swaying! All the schools in the area are closed. It's a pretty nasty day out there.

WOW! Stay warm!!!!!!

I called the insurance office but SURPRISE! the lady I need is still out to lunch! How convenient for her! Now it is almost time to go get Miss Princess.

Me either! I swear I got more worried and paranoid with each girl. It's a good thing we're done. I'd be in an insane asylum for sure.
Hi everyone!

11 days til WDW! I can't believe it.

Jackie is sick today...hopefully she recovers in time for her party on Friday.

Scrapbook projects look great!

Lucy is a cutie!

Thanks Kristine! Hope Jackie feels better soon!

Tammi and Lindsay, here is a blurb from that website with the class. I think I am going to sign up for it. I need help!

Q: Do I need to be online every day?
A: No. There is no set schedule, and you don't need to be online every day. The time frame we've set is mainly for the message board and gallery, and so you can plan when the new lessons become available (it's each Monday), but other than that, this class is for you to work at your own pace and when you have time to do it.

I had back problems after I had Lizzy. I would get a spasm and litterally couldn't breath. I had to take something pretty strong for it. Lizzy wasn't breast feeding well so I just had to give up on it. Hope you can find something that works for you.

Emma was 11 1/2 months old on her first trip and 21 months old on her 2nd. She was great on both trips. I did get permission from her doctor to switch her to milk before her first trip. I was still bf before bed too. She was already using a sippy cup but still needed a bottle to really settle down. I did try to get her some "floor" time at the resort when the other 2 napped. At 21 months she was awesome! She was walking so she slept really well.

Isn't it nice to see?
yes the ticker is nice to see, I doubt she will be walking by then. Maybe we should not go in Aug.. Maybe we should wait till Dec.

My back is not getting better:mad: I don't know what to do. I am supposed to work tomorrow. but even the slightest movement can cause spaspms. I have set in the desk chair with a heating pad on all day.

what do you all do to distinguish your stroller from the rest of them?

I used to tie a brightly colored bandana to the handle of mine. I chose an extremely UGLY color, so it was easy to spot.

Absolutely! Sounds like they really want her!

Well, they don't have the user manual for my sewing machine. So I'll have to decide what I'm going to do. The machine we have has a lot of features but I have NO idea how to use them and neither does my mother who has been sewing for years. We can do the basics but anything other than that is beyond us.

This is just my opinion, but I NEED a manual! I'm scared to do anything without it. I think I would donate the machine, and get yourself a new one. It sounds like you will use it enough to justify the cost.
