Good morning & Happy New Years Eve!

Happy New Years Eve to you too!

I guess we're having a little New Years Eve party tonight. Terra spent last night planning something and making things. She's planned some food, made a "pin the hands on the clock" gmae, made part hats and cut and colored confetti (because apparently, the only acceptable way was to cut little pieces of white scrap paper and then color and/or decorate each with markers :thumbsup2 I tried to suggest cutting colored paper, but she looked at me like I was crazy. :rotfl: )

Deb - Good luck with your closet!

Bernadette - How's your foot feeling today?

Good morning and Happy New Year's Eve!!

I'm starting to feel a bit better, as I've been on meds for a few days now. Stupid sinus infection.

The kids came home last night. They were at their dad's for a few days. He finally bought a house, and they just moved into it. The kids are SO much happier, and it's actually only a few miles from our house, so it will make it much easier for him to help out after school with all their activities.

We haven't decided on what we are going to do tonight. I guess it will all depend on what I feel like as the day goes on. We've been invited to a friends house, and we also have the option of going downtown to First Night, which might be fun, since the weather is so mild. They are having fireworks at midnight too. Or we could just stay in and play games and EAT. The kids already came up with a list of munchies that they want me to buy.

Oh and I also see a trip to Petsmart in my future today. Nicholas got all the fixings for a gerbil for Christmas....house, food, aquarium, toys, etc. All except the actual gerbil. For that he got a gift card so he can pick his own. Alyssa also gets to pick one, since they are happier with company. I hope I don't come to regret this. He's been begging for one for a long time.

Good morning!
I cannot believe 2010 is almost over...crazy!

Tammi, hope you keep feeling better, i hate sinus infections!

You are a better mom than I am! My kids have been begging for another pet since Cozy died, but I keep saying no. Good luck with the gerbils! Maybe they will be low maintenance!

That's how we came to be hamster owners this holiday season. I'm hoping not to regret it as well. Almost did last night when I panicked over lack of movement. Turns out he was just sleeping deeply, but the weird way he was laying in the house freaked me out.

Over the years, we had: goldfish, beta fish, guinea pigs, a hamster, parakeets, rabbits, a turtle, dogs, and a horse. When we lived on the farm, we had chickens for the eggs, pigs, and outside cats. I regretted them all at one point or another but usually only for a day or two. Now, I'm happy that I gave the girls the experience.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS

Happy New Year. Chuck & I are relaxing watching the Rose Bowl Parade.

We are trying to decide what to do for trips this year. We are thinking about skipping our March trip so that we can go in December with the girls, their boyfriends, my mom and favorite aunt. I'm thinking I can miss the March trip if I know I have the December trip to plan.

We head to Lansing tomorrow. He is coming down with me for the week. Yeah! He doesn't start teaching his community college classes until the 2nd week of January so he can come with me.

That will be a nice treat for the two of you.

we have no idea what our vacations will be this year either. It is unlikely that we'll get a Disney trip in before our AP's expire. Nick has drivers ed the first 5 weeks of summer. It looks like we'll do some camping in our new camper which we are looking forward to. We will also keep our eyes on cruise prices out of Boston and NYC. If a great deal comes up mid to late summer we would consider that, otherwise it is a safe up for a bigger vacation year.

We also have to figure out what we are doing about our cruise for our 30th June 2012. Chuck thinks that he wants to take a Disney cruise. We are not gamblers and he feels that the entertainment on a Disney cruise would be more in the lines of our taste. We may not go on an Alaskan cruise but instead take an Alaskan Train tour. Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Maybe you should discuss a Hawaii Cruise for say Aug 4 2012. We'll be on that one celebrating our 20th anniversary. We plan to use some DVC points to try out the new Hawaiian DVC resort too :thumbsup2 We could have soooo much fun.

Hello.

I'm glad that I procrasinated taking down the outside decorations as it is gorgeous out today. Chris and I got it all down in less than an hour :cool1: We through away all the old garlands as they are breaking apart. I found new garland at Walmart yesterday 75% off so I'm all set for next year. My only other project for today is to switch my wardrobe around. I'll get that done while Chris watches the Patriots game.

Hello :wave2:

Thought I'd stop by and wish everyone a Happy New Year. Deb keeps me up to date with what everyone has been up to. Sounds like some of you had some great fall vacations. Got to admit that I'm jealous.

Chris

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Tia & Tammi-hope the pets are doing well!

Jennifer-how are you & the girls doing?

Vicki-how great that you & Chuck get to spend the week together. Your trip next Dec sounds great.

Deb-has your computer recovered from its virus?

We celebrated Christmas with my MIL & SIL Friday. My SIL is really WAY, WAY, WAY too generous! She gave Gene a Kindle and me an iPod Touch, Emma a scooter & American Girl Doll husky & dog sled, Joe an action camera that can go on a helmet and you can purchase other mounts, and Lizzy an autograph basketball and Aeropostale clothes. I had thought about trying to exchange the iPod which is 8gb toward the purchase of a 32gb one but have decided to just keep it as is. The 30gb video iPod she gave me years ago still works so I can keep lots of movies on that and limit the new touch to just a few favorites. I really did NOT want to imply to her that her gift wasn't good enough when it was really way too generous. I have charged both the iPod and Kindle but haven't set either up yet. Also have to read the book on Joe's camera.

Today Joe & I worked on calendar's for both MIL & SIL. I will order them tomorrow.

I'm in a bit of a funk tonight. I'm not feeling up for the new year. There is some really nasty stuff going on at work and while I'm not too worried I'll be a victim I do find it really distasteful. I don't have the desire to look for a new job because my boss has been great but am having a hard time finding motivation with the current atmosphere there.

I also just found out tonight that the aide in Lizzy's classroom last year died this weekend. She was supposed to have hernia surgery last April vacation but when they did her preop testing they found lung cancer. She was 55. So sad.

My foot hurts a bit. The joint is still stiff and the wound itself hurts but really not too bad and I still think my right foot hurts more at this point than the left. I go back to him on the 14th.

HI Chris! Happy New Year to you too!

Tammi-hope the pets are doing well!
So far so good. We came home on Friday afternoon with 2 male gerbils, Hoops and Scurry. I must admit, they are kinda cute and very entertaining. I just hope the cats don't bother them, now that we are all back to school/work.

Hopefully the drama at your work will turn around soon. I'm sorry to hear that your foot is still bothering you. I was hoping that the surgeries would give you some relief.
