Marci, so happy to hear from you. I do not post often, but you & all DDAer's are always in my thoughts. :goodvibes

Marci,
So glad to hear from you & am so happy for you that you are going to enjoy Disney World during the holidays. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Jen -- isn't that kind of early to be on bedrest? I'm so sorry! How long do they want you to try to go? I hope it passes quickly for you.

Well, phooey indeed! Take care of yourself, Jennifer!

Jennifer - Yuck! I'm sorry that bedrest is starting already. Just take it easy and enjoy the time with your girls before things get crazier around there. You've prepared yourself for this and everything will work out great!

Marci it could have started a lot earlier. Basically complete bedrest except potty, quick showers every other day and quick up to make me something to eat. for the next 4 weeks then I can have a little more movement as I will be 35 weeks and they have a greater chance of staying out of the neonatal ICU. At 37 weeks I can do whatever I want around then she will induce me if I have not delivered before then. Thanks Elin and Tia

Marci glad your recovery is going better then you thought. Glad the nodes are showing negative. I hope they continue to show negative,

Good Morning

Congrats Deb

My daughters and I went shopping for a wedding dress yesterday, we didn't make a purchase but she found one that she will prbably go back and order, she's just going to check out one more shop first.

I hope everyone has a Wonderful Thanksgiving

That sounds fun. Did you like the dress she picked out?

well fooy, I am dilated to 2cm and now on bedrest at home

That totally sucks. You'd better listen. You don't want those girls to arrive before christmas:wizard:

Hi everyone. Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers.

I got home on Friday. I've been sleeping in an electronic recliner because it is easier to get in and out of. Last night I tried the bed and that was more comfortable for all night. Everything wears me out. Bathroom trips, showers, walking, etc., but I can already tell that I am getting stronger. Saw the plastic surgeon on Monday and they took all three drains out, so that's made showers and everything easier. I have this one piece zip up lovely girdle thing to wear for the next 6 weeks but it's not too bad. It's hard to get my right arm back in it because that is the arm where they took the nodes and it's fairly sore, but it will get easier. I'm still swollen so they gave me one size for now, then in about two weeks I might be ready for the smaller garment. Everything is swollen right now. Both docs say everything looks great but it sure doesn't look it to me. I walk stooped over like an old lady but my steps are more sure now. I've been lucky that I never got nauseous, dizzy, loopy etc.

Taking valium for the muscle spasms every twelve hours (can't begin to tell you how bad my back and lower back/bottom) hurt and vidocin for the pain. I'm started stretching those to about every 5-6 hours instead of 4 and it's worked pretty good so far. I try to walk as much as I can but I can't get but a loop around the house each time. Arm where they took nodes is completely number under my armpit and the underneath side to my elbow. Sometimes have shooting pains or random pains but they said that is normal and is from nerve damage getting the nodes out.

The best news -- the nodes they took out during the surgery were negative for cancer (nodes during sentinel node surgery were positive so that's why they took more). The first bit of good news we've had and I'm still grinning from the news. It took a while longer to get the results because they were surprised that the cancer is one kind, the two nodes taken 10 days ago were a different kind, and the last surgery produced no new cancer. They can't figure out why two different kinds because of where they were, so they are going to do more testing. As long as the newest nodes taken out continue to be negative, I won't have to do radiation, only chemo. If they had been positive, I would have had to do radiation and chemo.

Chemo will most likely start the week after Christmas. I will lose my hair and they haven't told me how many rounds etc. Right now, the cancer is at a Stage II, so life could be much, much worse.

I can't drive for another week, will need to walk stooped over, and won't be able to sleep on my side for another week, but at that point I can as long as I curl up my knees and put a pillow between them.

We have had a trip to Disney planned for a year now. Doc says I should still be able to go, just with a wheelchair and no thrill rides. We will be there from Dec. 17 - Dec. 23 so if anyone wants to meet up, share park days etc., just let me know. This will be a slower paced trip for us but I'm fine with that.

Thank you so much for the prayers, thoughts, pm's, cards, soup, calls, etc. They have meant more than you will ever know! :goodvibes

I am so glad that you stopped by. I had almost picked up the phone tonight to call you and saw your post :goodvibes I wish that things were healing more quickly, but am relieved to read about the node report. The 2 types of cancer sounds scary. Is one a worse type than the other? I believe you have a family history, is one type the type that runs in your family? We are praying for you and are here for absolutely anything you need. Just let us know.

Marci-So good to 'see' you--no news on the townhouse but still looking! I will be in Disney the 16th-19th..no definite plans but would love to "run into you " if possible!

Deb and Elin-thanks for your computer stories! I FINALLY got someone late monday night that worked it out for me and overnighted a new battery for me so i got it this morning, in time to take on the trip! Whew

I got to dallas okay and ready for bed! Just relaxing tonight before all the fun tomorrow!

Jennifer-keep those girls cooking for a bit longer....hulu was my friend while I was laid up earlier this year.

Jen-fingers crossed on the townhouse!!

Marci-I am so pleased to see you tonight...you have been in my prayers and thoughts constantly. Yeah!! for keeping your trip....what a wonderful way to celebrate the season.

Elin-:cool1::cool1:for you keeping your trip on also!!

Debbie- Sounds like the wedding is coming along...hopefully the insurance will too :rolleyes1

Deb-it sounds like this job is an awesome fit for you. Congratulations!!

I have had a crap-tastic few days....dealing with Jim and a backed up sewer...don't know which one is worse.(also got another thanks but no thanks) There is a co-worker who isn't actually working and she seems to be getting more hours than 2 of us. So we were talking and the other worker was going to speak to our LOD (store manager on duty) last night. Shae didn't come back to tell me how it went but it is so frustrating.:headache:

Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!!

DDA friends are the best!

Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving! We had dinner & are watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has had a very happy Thanksgiving. I cooked our big meal yesterday, and it was delish, even if I do say so myself. Then the kids went to their dad's last night and will be with him until Sunday evening, which is fine since I have to work the next 3 days anyway.

Today Bob and I went to one of his friends' houses for dinner. There were 4 couples, no kids, which was nice. It was nice adult time.

Jennifer - I hope the time passes quickly for you.

Marci - It is so nice to hear from you. I've been wondering how you've been doing. I'm so sorry for all that you are going through, but it seems that you are really keeping your spirits up. I think getting away to WDW will be just the right thing for you. Your dates are the exact same as ours, and we would love to meet up and say hi!

For those heading out in the wee hours of the morning.....happy shopping!

I'm watching Behind the Magic:Disney Holidays on HGTV right now. I love the Christmas decorations. We are talking to my Mom about getting her and my Aunt Lola down there next year. You can watch it online at hgtv.com if you are interested. Mom and Chuck are out looking at lighting fixtures because my mom wants to remodel her bathroom. They'll have to see it online.
