DDA Chapter 26

I keep debating if I want to attempt a black Friday run....I have never done it before, but I feel intrigued. Must be these sleepless nights effecting my mind!! :rotfl2:

Don't think I'll be doing black friday this year but I usually do. Ever since the police had to show up at Circuit City one time I skip all the crazy places. I tend to go to Kohl's and JoAnns and Staples. I also don't go super early-about 6am is early enough for me. I'm home well before noon.

This year I hope I don't crazy online shopping since I am really done. That's the problem with shopping early. I don't know when to stop.

Look at my ticker. I should making ADR's. I just need to finish up my Color Coded Matrix of Fun. I don't think we want anything too hard to book so in the next day or 2 should be OK. I was thinking an Illuminations cruise would be nice but Dorinda didn't really want to do that so that was the only tough thing to book.

Not sure if I mentioned that Dorinda's DH got a pin and we were able to book with that even though he isn't going with us.

Jen - yay for a trip. TWO trips! You will be there the same time as us. Good luck with the houses.

Bernadette- you sure do have a lot on your plate.

I've never done black Friday sales. Never will. I hear they are becoming a thing of the past, with all the online sales, and internet only ads ahead of time. The news is saying better deals are to be had early this year. Who knows.

Thanks for the quotable, Miss Tammi! :lmao:

I promised I would try to stop in and say, "Hi!" so I did! :wave2:

Got my car back & my brakes are all done. Thankfully they did not see anything else that needed fixing.

We went looking for a winter jacket for Katie. Found a few nice ones but nothing jumped out at us. Heading out for Chick fil A later..yum.

Tammi, beware of Hard Rock placing holds on your credit card!!! They had $500 of DH's credit card locked up even though our room was paid in full at check-in and we only owed $50 at check-out. It took almost a week for the holds to drop off - I was LIVID. Also, when you charge back to the room you have a $100 limit, not $1500 like at WDW. We charged lunch at the park, then our room key was declined at dinner because we had maxed it out. SO embarrassing! :headache:

Elin, nifty photo! :thumbsup2

Deb, I think a big part of DS's issue is having 9 classes, plus rehearsals. He can only juggle a finite number of things, then other things go by the wayside. He gets mad when I hound, and he gets mad when I say I am going to let him crash and burn. Mostly I hound.

Unfortunately, Marci's node biopsy was positive. They will need to do some more checking before they determine what they can do in terms of reconstruction during Monday's surgery. They are hoping they can still complete everything in one procedure.

Thank you for filling us in. I was hoping for better news. I hope that they can do everything at once for her sake. :wizard::hug:

Good Morning,
We are packing up to leave today, we'll spend a few hours at Studios before heading out to Tallahassee for the evening.

Richie chose our day yesterday, we ended up hitting our favorites in all four parks, needless to say I'm beat.

Have a great weekend!

Drive Safely

Well we took my van in this morning because I felt something wrong with my brakes....So the back brake fluid is leaking & there are no pads on any of the brakes. Right now they say $700 unless they find anything else. :scared:

I just realized I didnt tell you guys my exciting news from yesterday...

I also booked a disney trip!! i leave in 34 days and cant believe it. It is a really quick trip, but my friend Frankie is home (he lives in Orlando) but is leaving again for 6 months in January. I am flying down on Dec 16 after work, were going to do Disney Friday and Saturday and the Christmas Party friday!! then Ill come home Sunday night. Its a cheap trip as I am staying with him and i have the annual pass so just paying for air, food, and the christmas party. Cant wait to see him...and the decorations!

On more disney news (its been an exciting week haha)-my moms 50th birthday is in February and my dad is taking her to disney for a week..as part of her present, he is going to fly my brother and i down there again for a thursday-sunday trip! Definitely got the use out of these passes!

Can I be your sister? Pleeeeaaaassseee

I had posted another post yesterday but had lost internet connection on my laptop. I've tried shutting the laptop down, checking all the plugs on my router, shutting off the router but still can't get it back. Not sure what I'll do in bed for 2 weeks without the internet. I haven't tried shutting down my desktop yet. Hoping it comes back soon. Not sure where to go for help.

Yesterday I delivered my MIL her Christmas gift. A new TV. Her's isn't working at all and I figured it would be better to get it to her and get it all set up while I can then wait for Christmas. She won't mind opening up just a pot holder on Christmas day.

Then I sorted through all the kids stuff (box for each kid) so DH could take care of it if I'm not up for it Christmas Eve and to be sure everyone was all set. I don't count exact number of gifts or try to spend the same exact amount on the kids but I do try to make it "feel" somewhat equitable. Emma's gifts seem to lack the "WOW" of Joe & Lizzy's but I really think she'll love them so I'm not sure there is much I can do at this point. I got Lizzy a Nintendo, Joe night vision binoculars and digital voice recorder and Emma Schleich toys and Lego plane. I know she'll love the plane-we've never had a Lego set that big before. Then I got each kid a Nintendo game and Wii game. Emma should love the 2 I picked out for her. AND...I got other Wii stuff as a group gift so I think they'll all be happy Christmas morning......

I still hope to make a few things this weekend and next and want to order 1 more thing for DH from LL Bean with a gift card. I have to pick up some chocolate coins for the stockings. I also have to order Christmas cards so I can work on those while on bed rest. All & all I would have to say I'm really pretty well set for Christmas. Except for my house which needs a lot of cleaning attention as I haven't done much in the past few months.....

I thought I was in good shape, but your way ahead of me.

Who knows.

There are some good deals to be had now, but I'm sure there will be some things only offered on black friday. Sears is having a big friends and family sale tomorrow night. Supposedly it is their Black Friday Sale minus the doorbuster with an additional 10% off. I'm doing some major appliance shopping tomorrow night :scared1:

/
So I ran into Sears at 8:30 tonight and learned that the Friends and Family sale is starting at 10 tomorrow instead of 6 for everything except the Washer and Dryer. The email that I got this evening does NOT say that. If I hadn't stopped in there I would have missed out on the dishwasher for sure. I bet there is going to be a lot of angry people tomorrow night. I need to be there before 10 tomorrow morning and again tomorrow night. Good thing we don't live too far away.

Enjoy the open house today Elin. You'll have beautiful weather for it!! :sunny:

Thanks, Tammi! It is almost a picture perfect day for it, isn't it? We have done this all 19 years it has been in existence. And only one time in those years have we had bad weather! Some years it has been bitter cold and even a few snow flurries, others it has been blazing hot. But only one year did it rain! We are lucky. :goodvibes

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I am off in a little bit to "make merry" :santa: Have a great day!

Good morning, DDA!

Got to enjoy a nice bit of sleeping in this morning which was great! I've had too many nights of late to bed or lots of waking (and not because of Deva, instead it was her dad and his computer issues :upsidedow ).

Today we've got...nothing! Yesterday we went to Chick Fil A for brekfast, shopped with Terra getting a lot of her Christmas shopping done, had lunch, and came home just in time to feed and change Deva before going to a birthday party last night. Came home with a pounding headache to top it off. :headache: At least everything up to that was good.

Elin - Have a great day today! I'm glad the weather is nice for you.

Debbie - Welcome (almost) home. I hope your last morning in the parks was a good one.

Anne Marie - Glad there was nothing else on your car. I pulled into the driveway last night and my check engine light came on. Not happy! (Unless of course it's related to the fuel pump that was just fixed so that they are the ones to take care of any problem.) Guess I'll run to AutoZone today to have a reading done.

Jen - Yay for new trip news! Sounds like two great opportunities. Hope you enjoyed your Cowboys dinner last night.

Bernadette - Good luck getting your tree up and Christmas stuff finished up. What day is your surgery?

Elizabeth - Thanks for your message and advice the other day! Also thanks for the update on Marci. Wish it was better news. Our prayers continue for her and her family.

Tammi - Don't you hate when time change has you coming and going in the dark. That was always one of the hardest things about Boston with it being on the leading edge of the timezone.

I finally pulled the trigger and will be in FL from Dec 2 to 8th. I am working on both the 2nd and the 8th as I have meetings and things I need to be at both days. So it will be a bit crazy. The way flights worked out if I wouldn't have done it that way I would have shortened the trip in half. As they don't fly certain days. Since I am probably cancelling my Dream cruise in February, I wanted to get at least 1 more trip out of my AP. Although I am hoping to maybe have some interviews set up so I can move forward in the moving process.

Good luck Marci!

Jen- Enjoy your trip!

The time change is kicking my butt.

Hi everyone, I am here and have been reading every day. Things come in threes and mine have been dealing with this stinking Vertigo and double vision, my mother is not doing well and Hal's mother was not doing well either.

Today Hal's mother Oma went to cross over the Rainbow Bridge to finally see her youngest son Brad and her beloved doggie Freddie. She had been in and out of the hospital a few times and was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. We really didn't think she would last until Thanksgiving. She lived a full 86 years. I just got off the phone with my youngest and sent him a ticket so he could get up here to be with the family.

According to my one sister, my mom is doing better. She has been in a wheelchair since May and now is in a rehab hospital. I don't know much more but will find out when my other sister calls.

Right now I am trying to work on my trip report to keep my mind focused. My MRI is scheduled for Tuesday and I hope to get some answers when the Dr gets the results.
