DDA Chapter 26

[Disney Yooper]

It is nasty outside. We have already had inches and inches of rain with more coming. Tornado watches and warnings are all over the area too. Boy am I glad I am not flying today!

I just checked in online and upgraded to business class using a voucher I had. My suitcases are packed and I think I am as ready to go as I possibly could be. I teach all day and leave for the hotel about 9:30 tonight. I am not taking my laptop with me on this trip so I won't be back in touch until October 11th at the earliest. If I need to know anything please call my cell phone or text me.

I get to see Vicki and Chuck and Stephanie and Terry on Monday morning!

I will try to stop in here before I leave for work, but no guarantees. If not... I will miss you all. Have a great week!!

It was fun finally meeting Elin and Kirsten in person! Stephanie & Terry have great stories that I'll leave for them to share.

All three of them had other friends there. It was nice meeting new people. Three of them had run the Disney Food & Wine Half Marathon so I enjoyed chatting with them on their impressions on the Inaugural race. It got me inspired to start training for the full marathon in January 2012.

Stephanie & Terry brought a Japanese friend and Chuck impressed others at the table by saying hello to her in Japanese (as well as another phrase or two which I didn't understand). He had taken a Japanese course 25 years ago so he could talk with some Japanese clients at the time.

We had a great breakfast. Kouzzina's was a great pick. Thank you Elin!

I think that's a great idea. I've thought of doing something similar before, but hadn't found something that wasn't hardback and heavy. I love it! Nice and simple, but fun and a good keepsake, with your hands full next time around.

that's what I was thinking. It would be a lot easier with the twins and Virginia. It has an index in the back to make it easier. As someone else on the thread suggested, she is putting a few blank pages in for Characters not in the book. One of the ones not in it is Tiana.

Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust, the MRI was normal so we're dealing with nerves and not tumors, I'll take that option. I still have to see the neurologist but I feel a TON of relief.

My favorite Uncle has passed away. I had asked for prayers a while back for him. He was the only man that could hug me like my dad. He was a very special person. Keep his family in your prayers as they deal with his loss. It is going to be very hard on everyone.

I'm glad you had a nice trip. Sorry about the vertigo. I know a lot of people struggle after a cruise with the feeling that they are still on the boat.

My computer has not been cooperating tonight. I finally got on and am running antivirus software as I type. Work was busy again and it seems that maybe just maybe my luck has changed a tiny bit. I just got an email for an interview...tomorrow. It is for a job that I had applied for 5 weeks ago, and it is a permanent position working FOR the temp agency that said I was unemployable I also have a phone interview scheduled with a different business for Thursday morning. I think I'd like the second job better, but maybe the interviews will effect my thinking. I just hope that one of these pans out. Working all these crazy hours is getting old fast.

Debbie - What a relief! I'm sure that is a huge load off of your shoulders.

It's good to hear that our babies are doing so well, and the mommies too!

I've been crazy busy as usual. Alyssa has dance 3x a week, plus Nutcracker rehearsals on Sunday afternoon, and Nicholas has football 2x a week. There should only be about a month more of that though.

Hearing about all the Disney trips really has me anxious for ours. Only a little over two months before we leave!

I'm a bit nervous this morning. Hopefully the interview goes well today, but I have to admit that my interactions with the company last week has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to keep an open mind though. I'm very excited about the telephone interview tomorrow and I truly hope that pans out. The company is small now, but it definitely a growing company and growing at a huge rate. Solar energy is obviously gaining steam as a green source of energy. I can see great growth potential in the organization even if I need to start off at the very bottom. I'm really hoping for the assistant to the CEO position, but I think getting into the company is the important thing

Time to figure out what I'm wearing to the interview. I bought a cute suit when we returned from our trip, but it has short sleeves. It is kind of cool here and rainy today so I'm not sure if I want to wear it or something else.

I'm home from the interview. It last 2 hours and I met with 3 separate people. I think it went really well. I know that they are interviewing 4 or 5 people, some of the interviews are next week and they want to offer the position by the end of next week. I think that I would fit into the position well and everyday would have different people to talk to, priorities, etc. It would by no means be the same or mundane. We did not discuss pay or benefits as if they don't offer me the position it is a mute point. My only concern is that there really isn't room to move up in the company. The office near us has 3 employees and the responsibilities are similar. It will be interesting to see how tomorrow works out. Hopefully I can get an in person interview before a decision is made on this first job as I want to know which would be a better fit. Obviously that it putting the cart before the horse, but I am optimistic
