Today's field trip went very well but I am exhausted! So ready for the weekend

Thanks, Jen and everyone else. It looks like things could get uglier before they get better and it's already not pretty. Your prayers are all greatly coveted. It just makes me want to cry and there's nothing I can do to help.

so the headache finally went away about 6pm after puking. Then mom calls about 8pm she can't figure out the nebulizer machine the hospice nurse brought out. Still not sure why he has hospice nurses coming out to the house and not home health nurses. So the girls and I head over their. while we are their dad takes a shower and his hair starts falling out. So my brother and I gave dad a buzz cut. per his request.

Good morning, DDA!

Allergins must be hight today. I'm so stuffy and my teeth hurt Oh well, I've got a ton to do so I'd better put on my big girl panties and get over it.

So I've been trying to tag and label pictures in Photoshop Elements Organizer for the better part of the year. I do well for awhile and then get burnt out. I had been doing it folder by folder by found that overwhelming, even after I made a list of all of the folders so that I could mark them out as I went - of course there are apparently almost 300 folders. Apparently I've managed to tag about 1400 pictures over this time (plus probably deleted another 300+ bad/fuzzy/duplicate images).

Tonight I was messing around and discovered the button I had been hoping to locate - "Find all untagged items". So what do I do...import ALL of the remaining photos. I about had a heart attack when the progress box told me it was working on importing 33,199 pictures! Somehow I don't know how that's going to help the whole "overwhelmed" thing. At least, now they are all there though and I can just start chipping away a little at a time (or at least I hope that's an "at least" kind of statement). Ai yi yi!

After that, I've probably got a good 5,000 if not many, many more family photos to scan in to my computer. I never imagined what a massive project being "keeper of the family photos" would be when I undertook it. However, I also wouldn't want to do anything else with them. I'm proud to be the holder of our family treasures and can't wait until I can get them under control enough to share them with everyone.

Sounds like a ton of work.

I'm having an increasingly difficult time managing all of it with my Nikon, small Sony, Lizzy's Sony, the old Sony Gene still uses with a spot on the sensor , Joe's flip video, Joe's Sony cam corder....

Kathrin told me about that! She said it was almost as bad as the summer of 1998 when we were at WDW during the FL fires. I hope it improves quickly!

And I have every faith in your camping skills, Bernadette! I know you and the others will have a good time.

It was better on Tuesday with a shift in the winds.

The leader called last night to tell me the one whiney kid isn't going! I'm sure she's a nice girl but she gets on my nerves and I don't know if I could be nice for 3 days. That leaves just 8 girls and they are all great! The weather is iffy but shouldn't be a total wash out.

Jennifer - I hope your dad is settling in okay today. Our prayers continue! Hope you're feeling better too.

Bernadette - That's just it. While the majority of the pictures are mine from our first digital camera in 2003 to now, I also have a lot of family camera pulled into the mix, plus scanned, etc. Have a great camping trip. I'm sure that it will go well.

Beth - Congrats to Matthew on his job.


Well, to add to all of the drama around here, Brendan got hit by a semi leaving work yesterday. The truck hit the back end of the car and Brendan has no injuries so that's really good, but 6 inches further forward and it could have been a lot different story. There's a lot of damage to the back end and it sounds like insurance will just total their Jetta. If I heard Kristi right, Erin has a friend selling a used car so I think they already have a plan to move forward once insurance finishes their side.

Oh, and I apparently have a 22 month old who already knows how to lie. Terra was blocking her from the playroom as I hadn't put the gate up yet. Said 22mo didn't like it and turned to me crying "hit, hit, owie, hit". Now I wasn't right there, but I know where she was standing, where Terra was standing and how Terra was standing to block the path. Terra wasn't even close enough to have hit her nor did Terra move from her spread-legs-and-arms-path-blocking position the whole time. Ai yi yi. Just what I need to add to the mixture around here. That's a new experience for me too - Terra's always been so honest about things, even if it gets her in trouble, and the other kids didn't start until they were older.

Too bad no one is around right now. I've got a glorious thing going with all 5 people who are at home being asleep and everyone else being at work or the movies. Of course, it would be a whole lot nicer without all of the drama weighing me down, but heck if I'm going to waste some quiet time! LOL! I think I'll go make up a quick snack and take a crack at some of those photos (especially since I spent half the night dreaming about trying to organize them and the program not liking me).

Too bad no one is around right now. I've got a glorious thing going with all 5 people who are at home being asleep and everyone else being at work or the movies. Of course, it would be a whole lot nicer without all of the drama weighing me down, but heck if I'm going to waste some quiet time! LOL! I think I'll go make up a quick snack and take a crack at some of those photos (especially since I spent half the night dreaming about trying to organize them and the program not liking me).

I'm sure Terra would say hi too if she weren't one of those at the movies! After much debate and a little crying, she ended up going to the free movie with Kristi and the kids. Thery're seeing the Chipmunks Squeakuel. I never quite know how she'll react to things. Some days she'll yell bye and go without me somewhere with no issue, other times she'll freak out and worry about missing me even though she wants to go.
