DDA Chapter 25

Obviously, I am here! First meeting didn't go so badly, so maybe that is a harbinger of continued peace and tranquility!

It is hazy, hot and humid (HH & H)... 88 with a heat index of 98. Not the perfect weather for sightseeing outdoors anyway, I suppose!

I handled the Lacrosse business, worked on the record labels, did laundry and ate dinner. I guess I should head off to work now. It is very hot outside so putting on a pair of black pants isn't my idea of fun, but a girls gotta do...

I'm knee deep in Lacrosse and laundry this morning. Huge questions on how to handle the 5/6 girls game tomorrow and the opposing coach hasn't gotten back to me. I need to meet our outgoing financial person at the bank to get my name on the account. In some ways that will make running the program easiers as right now I have no idea where we stand financially. From there I'll try to find sneakers etc for Nick's dance outfit then I can come home and work on record labels for awhile. I also need to get clothing into the camper all before I head off to work for 4:45.

Sounds exhausting!!! I find all the end of year activities stressful and I'm not even involved in all that much.

We've got kind of a big mess in part of the family that could really use prayers. I can't really go into detail, but it doesn't involved Phil, Terra and I directly at least. However, good thoughts and prayers that it can be resolved peacefully and that the main people can get the help they need would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Good morning all!

In about 72 hours I will be closer to a lot of you geographically....no group of people can be closer in my heart though.

Safe travels!

Probably better to go to work with the black pans on than off.

Deb-did you have the smoke on Monday from Quebec? It was so hazy here and you could even smell it in the air.

I'm not sure I'm looking forward to "monster camping" with Lizzy's troop this weekend. Neither of the other 2 leaders have ever been camping-I haven't been in 12 years. There are only 9 girls so a 3 to 9 ratio with 11 year olds sounds very managable. I'm worried about weather, bugs and trying to cook over 1 fire pit with other troops. The other leaders are worried about stuff I'm not-sharing a leader tent with strangers and the safety of the girls at night in their own tents. I've gone to camp before while they never had and nothing ever happened to me or any girl I camped with. I'm sure the girls and even us adults will have a great time once were there but I'm not really looking forward to it.

So I woke up at 4:30 this morning with a migraine. I have taken Darvocet twice now and it has not gone away. I have tried to sleep most of the day and it has not gone away. Jeff left for work around 2:45 so at least he was here most of the day to take care of the girls.

When I first read this I thought it meant that Bernadette was one of the pregnant ones. I couldn't figure out how I missed that! Then I realize you were addressing the answer to her.

I'm glad things went okay the first meet. I'm already done with the triple H weather.

So I woke up at 4:30 this morning with a migraine. I have taken Darvocet twice now and it has not gone away. I have tried to sleep most of the day and it has not gone away. Jeff left for work around 2:45 so at least he was here most of the day to take care of the girls.

Isn't that so neat? I wonder if they saw the ones we all make and "stole" our idea. I wish you were going back in October too.

Maybe next year! I've convinced Bob's parents and siblings as well as part of my family to go to Disney in either fall or December of 2011. Personally, I'm looking at October...

So I've been trying to tag and label pictures in Photoshop Elements Organizer for the better part of the year. I do well for awhile and then get burnt out. I had been doing it folder by folder by found that overwhelming, even after I made a list of all of the folders so that I could mark them out as I went - of course there are apparently almost 300 folders. Apparently I've managed to tag about 1400 pictures over this time (plus probably deleted another 300+ bad/fuzzy/duplicate images).

Tonight I was messing around and discovered the button I had been hoping to locate - "Find all untagged items". So what do I do...import ALL of the remaining photos. I about had a heart attack when the progress box told me it was working on importing 33,199 pictures! Somehow I don't know how that's going to help the whole "overwhelmed" thing. At least, now they are all there though and I can just start chipping away a little at a time (or at least I hope that's an "at least" kind of statement). Ai yi yi!

After that, I've probably got a good 5,000 if not many, many more family photos to scan in to my computer. I never imagined what a massive project being "keeper of the family photos" would be when I undertook it. However, I also wouldn't want to do anything else with them. I'm proud to be the holder of our family treasures and can't wait until I can get them under control enough to share them with everyone.

Deb-did you have the smoke on Monday from Quebec? It was so hazy here and you could even smell it in the air.

Kathrin told me about that! She said it was almost as bad as the summer of 1998 when we were at WDW during the FL fires. I hope it improves quickly!

And I have every faith in your camping skills, Bernadette! I know you and the others will have a good time.
