DDA Chapter 25

Hello all!!

It's been quite the week! Friday night Terra and I ended up driving to Girl Scout camp with my mom's troop to help get their stuff there. We stayed overnight and then went canoeing and to the nature center on Saturday before coming home. Sunday we hung out at the park for Mother's Day. Then the rest of the week was just the usual plus trying to get ready for my Girl Scout Neighborhood dinner tonight. Disappiontingly, we only had about 20 there instead of the usual 50 or so. Almost made all of that work not feel as worth it. We had 5 major awards to give out and only one of those people were there. :( We've only got one more Brownie meeting tomorrow, Court of Awards next week and then a couple of field trips over the summer and Scouts is done for the year. Plus, my comp shopping is done as of tomorrow. I feel so much better knowing some down time is coming (well as "down" as my time gets).

This weekend will be a nice one though! Terra, Phil and I are going to Branson for my birthday. Nothing too exciting planned. Terra and I will hit Silver Dollar City and we'll all go mini golfing and bumper boating. Mostly, though, I just wanted some time away with just the three of us.

I hope that everyone is doing well! I'm not sure I'll be back online much before we leave town, but hopefully will be a little more back to normal next week.

Night all!

Good morning. :)

Debbie - I'm glad to hear that your dad's procedure went well.

After a two hour delay dad's procedure went well today, his only complaint when he got to his room was that he was hungry.

Sending lots of good thoughts your way Anne Marie
Thanks Debbie, glad your Dad's procedure went well.:goodvibes

Lots of prayers and :wizard: that everything is okay.

Thank you!
I am looking forward to the new suites too..looks cool.

Debbie - I'm so glad your dad's procedure went well! Here's to a speedy recovery.

Tia - Wow! What a lot of stuff you've had to do! I'm glad you've got some down time coming! Make sure you get a lot of rest, ok? Don't spread yourself too thin!

Has anyone heard anything from Jennifer lately regarding her dad?

Another busy day on tap for me. I was hoping to be able to just stay home today and study, but no such luck! Hopefully, I'll be able to do that this afternoon, but my morning is shot! Tonight I have Katie's final Chorus concert of the year. She forgot to tell me about until last night. She's lucky I don't have anything else scheduled! I'm hoping it will only last about an hour, though, as I have too much to do to stay out for long!

I went to the store, yesterday, and bought some new water bottles for our trip. One for each of us, minus Timothy. We have small backpacks for the kids that they can wear to the beach, at DL, or wherever we go, and the backpacks will hold the bottles and their wallets. That way, I don't end up holding all of them! I like these bottles, as they are double walled for insulation, so there won't be any condensing of ice water on the outside! One more thing checked off the list. This weekend I need to go through clothes, and make sure we have enough shorts and long pants to be prepared for anything. With the weather we've been having, I just want to be ready for all kinds of weather!

Have a great day, ladies!

Hi,

Just got a call from my gyno that my pap was abnormal. She has scheduled a colposcopy & endometrial biopsy for me....I am trying not to worry but easier said than done.

 Please know you are in my thoughts, Anne Marie.

Kathrin has had an ongoing problem with atypical PAPs. She has had a colposcopy both in Richmond and in Boston. As she has discovered, there are many many things that can cause this abnormality to occur. So... please, please, please keep an open mind about what you are reading.

Glynis - sounds like things are coming together for your trip! :yay:

Debbie - I am glad your Dad's sugery went well. Now, on to yours!! :goodvibes

Tia - slow down, woman! ;)

Thank you Elin. :goodvibes I will.

I booked my first cruise excursion today! We are doing the Royal Dolphin Swim at Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel. They threw in a free manatee encounter, as well as giving me 20% off their advertised rate!

Very nice!!! :thumbsup2

I stopped by to see Dad after work today, only to find out he didn't get to come home. Seems he had a complication and won't be coming home just yet, I'll be heading to the hospital in a bit to check on him myself.

I picked up the paper work for my surgery today, my MRI results were in there, I read them but I have no idea what they said.

I'm scheduled to have arthroscopy of the left shoulder with manipulation under anesthesai\ debridement\ and subacromial decompression

I finally have a surgery date, the 17th. That gives me two months to get ready for Disney, that's the important thing right?
:wizard:Good luck!!!

Last night Laura was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Congrats to Laura!

Jennifer just messaged me that her mom called and they are getting ready to start the milder of the two chemo options on her dad. I don't have anymore details on the length, etc, but the lung doctor said that it may be the only thing that can save his life.
Jennifer-continued prayers for your Dad!

Stephanie is in the hospital and is staying overnight. She is having some tests done. She is doing okay and we will know more tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

:hug:I've had several abnormal paps but all additional testing has been fine.

Debbie - I'm sorry your dad didn't make it home. Hopefully soon!

Bernadette - welcome home! How was your trip?

Joe & I had a very nice trip but WAY too short!!!!

We had pretty good weather-one perfect day with temps in the high 80s and nice & dry, we had one day with high humidity and temps in the mid 90s and the rest of the trip was hot-low 90s but not quite so deadly hot. We had rain on my birthday but it stopped just as we finished dinner at California Grill so we were able to enjoy the views from the outlook.

I had lots of trouble with my feet. I may have to consider seeing a specialist about my bunions as they are impacting my touring. I haven't considered it previously as it means about 6 weeks on crutches and months of recovery.

I hate to say that BWI did not WOW me. I'm sure the room we were assigned put a real damper on my impression. We were given a room directly behind ESPN with a view of utilities and satelite dishes with very loud road noise. The bell man called to say I wasn't happy and they agreed to move me the next day but when I went to actually check in the CM was VERY cold. When I asked for a birthday button he simply asked how to spell my name but didn't wish me a happy birthday. It was a pain not to be able to unpack and then I had to be packed up very early the next morning and have bell services get all our stuff so we could get to MK for the 8am opening. As the week went on the staff seemed to lighten up a bit. The lounge staff was always very nice.

The offerings in the lounge were nice but I didn't like that they only had ice tea in the afternoon. Poly & AKL have ice tea in the evenings too. The hot offerings were nice but not kid friendly but the PBJ pinwheels were very nice-better than uncrustables.

I don't know what to do about July. I have BWI CL booked but not sure I want to do that. It was fine but not great. DH said last night he's always wanted to stay at GF. He loves the piano music there so he would like main building best which is a lot more $ than BWI. I am also considering changing to AKV-1 BR Kidani. I would LOVE the washer/dryer, great pool, tons of activities at the resort and good bus service. Walk/boat to Epcot/DHS was great at BWI but bus service wasn't so hot.

I am also still very sad about loosing one of my gold Mickey earrings at AK Tuesday. I was in the bathroom at Camp Mickey/Minnie and was walking out of the stall and as I put my camera back on the strap caught on my earring. I looked for it for a good 15 minutes but had to give up.:sad1: I tried to buy a replacement pair Tuesday night for $60 at MK but they couldn't find them in the back room and I was exhausted and gave up waiting for them.

Joe & I saw Lotso from Toy Story 3. SOOOOO cute!!!! We also saw Space Ranger Chip & Dale at MK.

OH...and I was on the top 3 scorers on Toy Story Mania.:cool1::cool1::cool1: I was about the 8th person on the ride and was knocked off the list before I got off but it was still pretty cool.

While I was gone my sister called to say that the AmVets are going to name the function hall in memory of my brother on Memorial Day.

:yay:

Welcome home, Bernadette! I am glad you and Joe had a good trip, but I wish your resort stay had been better.
