Theresa good thoughts going your way :hug::hug::hug:

Hang in there Theresa, it will get better.

Oh lordy. :sad2: If there is a vacant stall, handicapped or not, and there isn't a line for it, I'm going to use it. Period. When will people realize that handicap ACCESSIBLE does not translate to handicap EXCLUSIVE? Also, I can give my child independence in lots of areas, aside from restrooms.

Agree with you 100%!!!

I could use everybody's prayers and good thoughts on two fronts tomorrow:

1) I have my appt to check my ankle out...I hope to be able to put weight on it. But, I am not sure I will be to...I fell on Sunday and tonight Jim "helped" me take two knees in the parking lot.:headache:

2)our house is one of 750 from our county on the auction block tomorrow...we are praying that it won't actually get to the block and give us true time to try and short sale it.

I have had a horrible and a good time this weekend. My mom's brothers and most of my cousins are in town to have a reunion of sorts so that my Uncle that has lung cancer could meet all of their kids. My mom and I had a very serious discussion late last week and seem to have moved past it. We went to "When in Rome" today....it was so good and so fun to have the entire theater to ourselves. It felt good to laugh. I have a mouth full of sores which I am fairly certain from stress. My life stinks....I hate having no control.

Prayers for you! I'm so sorry that things stink right now. Wish there was more I could do to help.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! Our "celebration" will actually be tomorrow. Alan and I are running a 5K this afternoon, and then going out to eat afterwards. So, tomorrow I will be making corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread and rainbow cupcakes. I kind of feel badly for not doing much today, since the kids will be here alone, but I just can't get ready for the race, and still do a ton of stuff. Oh well. At least they all have green to wear to school today!

Elizabeth - I'm thrilled for your DS! I hope it's all he wants it to be!

Tammi - I hear you on the hairs on the neck thing. Alan was sent on a story recently, where a single mother took her son and 2 daughters to Burger King for dinner. While she was ordering, her son went into the bathroom. Apparently he took quite a long time. She stood by the door, waiting for him. She finally had a manager go in to see what was going on. The manager came out carrying the boy, who had been molested in the bathroom. The molester even passed the mother on the way out. It was a devastating story.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me when I take Daniel to the companion/family restroom. My focus is on my sons safety. There are too many freaks out there waiting for an opportunity for a kid to be alone.

Those restrooms are not handicapped exclusive like Tammi said. Daniel does not want to come into the ladies room which is completely understandable at his age, so we use the handicapped/family restroom. I didn't look at the other thread but I just feel like all you need is 1 time to be wrong & you can never go back.

Theresa - continued good thoughts for you that your life will soon be back on a good track.

In an effort to be more of a cook, I have my corned beef in the crockpot...This is the first time using the thing & it's my kind of cooking..drop the food in & leave! I made green jello & green frosted cupcakes for the kids dessert tonight. They cannot have a party in school (they did in NY) because they do not want to offend anyone. so we will have a little party ourselves. All my kids are in green even Katie!

I have to pick up rye bread.....oy! I forgot that! Back to the supermarket. I think I will get some cool whip for the jello & put a drop of green food coloring in that. I feel like Julia Child!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing: NOT!!

pixiedust: and prayers for you. It really stinks when bad things happen to good people.

Of course he will be!

I don't have a lot of choice when we are out anywhere. Nicholas stopped going into the ladies room a few years ago, because he was uncomfortable with it. But whenever we all go to the restroom, I tell him where to stand to wait for us. One time he took a little longer than usual to 'take care of business' and the hairs on the back of my neck were beginning to stand up, but he finally came out. Maybe I need to start asking him if he thinks he'll be awhile? :confused3 :rotfl:

I agree with you 100%! The other day Miles had to go to the bathroom in Target. I sent Laura to stand by the door while I checked out. He wasn't finished yet when I got there, and I definitely got worried. Fortunately, he was just a little slow. It was so much easier when Matthew was still going most places with us if dh wasn't there.

Have a great race! Sometimes celebrations get pushed back a little, but that doesn't make them less special or fun.

That story about the poor boy in the BK bathroom is terrifying!

We aren't fans of corned beef but wanted to have a green meal tonight, so we decided on pesto over pasta. Well, everyone except dh, he doesn't like pesto either. I also have brussel sprouts and asparagus. The kids don't like brussel sprouts, but they do eat asparagus. I think I'll make bread sticks, too, and color them green or add some parsley to them. I haven't decided on dessert yet. I just baked a pie on Pi day (3/14), and dh made brownies to go in lunches, so we don't really need anything else right now. I may go ahead and make the rainbow cupcakes that I saw in Family Fun, though.
