DDA Chapter 25

Tia - Sounds like Terra's party was really fun! I'm glad that the weather cooperated. What a wonderful little girl you are raising! You must be so proud of her!

Our household got hit this weekend with the dreaded "end of winter" cold. It always happens when the weather goes from really cold, to really warm and back to really cold within a matter of a few days. We are all sniffly, sneezy, and coughing. ick! We stayed home from church today, to try to rest and get over this. Alan was hoping that he would have a relatively easy day tomorrow, but just found out that he has to go to the back country and snowshoe 2 hours to a bear den where there are some new cubs that are being tracked. Poor guy. Guess I'll get up early and make him a hearty breakfast before he heads out the door. Of course, if my cold gets worse, he's on his own!

Thanks Glynis and everyone else. I am very proud of her! She was so excited about it too.

Good morning,

Sophie woke up with a belly ache at 4am & then got sick all over her bed.

So I am keeping her home today.

Poor thing. I hope the rest of the day has her feeling great.

Good morning, DDA! We're off to the zoo as soon as some lunches are packed. Have a great day everyone!

Ewww. I feel your pain. If it is what Colby had it will pass quickly :wizard::wizard:

Glynis I hope the colds pass quickly. We usually end up with those end of winter colds too. Something to look forward to I guess. The only good thing about them is that Summer is around the corner.

I got up with the kids this morning, made beds and did laundry before driving them to school. I managed to take "Rock Star" photos of the 8th graders. We need those for a project for the 8th Grade Grad Dance. I'm home for a few minutes then back to school to sub for a couple of hours. I bartend tonight. Tomorrow I need to work on the basket raffle during the day as well as clearing the tops of our entertainment centers. Colby has a friend coming over after school then we have the basket raffle/carnival meeting here tomorrow night. Wednesday looks slower, just a Go See It at a local radio station in the evening for Colby. Thursday is his ADD testing.

Thank you for all your kind words and sweet compliments about Alyssa's performance. She didn't even seem nervous! Meanwhile, I hope I didn't traumatize her with my tears of joy! :goodvibes

It's a sunny day in Cincinnati, but we need to hang around the house, since the cable guy is stopping by to switch over our landline and FedEx is supposed to deliver our new Iphones. This is my "present" for giving birth for the 4th time. :thumbsup2 I haven't gotten a new phone for years...recently, my phone was referred to as a "Zach Morris phone!" :rotfl:

I hope all the sickness vacates everyone's homes soon. With spring definitely on the horizon, hopefully we can air all the germs out!

Take care DDA! Hope you have a great week! :wave2:

Hello, DDA! Sorry I haven't been around lately. Nothing exciting has been happening around here. It's just been a little busy. Mostly I'm trying to get my house cleaned up some.

Amy, I loved Alyssa's performance, and I also enjoyed watching Kevin watch her sing.

Tia, Terra's party sounds like it was terrific!

Deb, you are so busy and full of energy. I feel like quite a lump on a log in comparison.

pixiedust: that Sophie is already feeling better.

Miles was kind of sick last week. He had a horrendous cough starting Wednesday afternoon. I sent him to school on Thursday anyway, and the school nurse called to send him home around 10:30 am, not for the cough but because he was complaining of feeling very hot and queasy. The cough eased a bit after that, and he seemed fine to me, so I sent him to school on Friday. The school nurse called at 12:45 to say that he was again feeling very hot and couldn't eat any of his lunch (that I paid for, because he bought that day). He never ran a fever. So far, no calls today. He was fine at his swim meet Saturday morning, too, so I guess it was just a little virus. He is slight congested now.

I know! I am spoiled by western skiing. The runs here just don't compare. I've skied at Steamboat, Breckenridge and Sun Valley. Breck is by far my favorite! Never in Utah though. I hear Park City is very nice.

I can't speak for the skiing, but Park City has excellent shopping and dining! I'm told that the skiing is wonderful. I will have to rely on others for that, as I don't think there's any way you'll ever get me to try it. I'm klutzy enough on my own. I don't need sticks strapped to my feet to enhance my inner klutz!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Glynis and Anne Marie - I hope your sickies get feeling better very soon!

Glynis - I have officially slowed down a bit. :teeth:

Good for you!!! Now, define slowed down "a bit.";)

Other than booking our room & flights, I have made no other plans for our July trip. We are only going to do 3 sit down meals, each of us are choosing one. Getting together on the 22nd sounds good, just let me know!

Tammi glad you & Bob had a nice weekend get a way :goodvibes

Hope all the young ones feeling under the weather are better soon :wizard::wizard:

:wizard:Hope all are feeling better!!!!

Joe stayed home today with a nasty cold. My eyes are sore tonight so I think I'm catching it from him.

I want an iPhone!!! BUT I won't be having a 4th so I guess I won't be getting one.

It sounds like a BBQ on the 22nd will work :cool1: We are excited.

Work was slow, but I was bartending so it doesn't matter nearly as much.

Good for you!!! Now, define slowed down "a bit.";)

Well... I stayed in my jammies on Sunday until noon, had brunch at 3:00 and then took a walk with Kristin. We went out to a favorite German restaurant for dinner last night too. No more festivals on the horizon! :)

Is that better?

I just booked my airfare for my October trip! :yay:

Elin - congrats on airfare!

Elizabeth - are you feeling better?

Bernadette - I got the package yesterday! Thank you!

Thanks for all the well wishes for Sophie. She was feeling so much better so she is off to school today. One of her friends came by last night with a zip loc bag of coloring pages, stickers, & bubble wrap  for Sophie with "Get well" on it. How cute!!! She has quite a nice little group of girlfriends.:goodvibes

Elin,
:thumbsup2 for airfare!

I am getting my haircut today & I can't wait, my bangs are so long I look like a sheepdog.:rotfl2:
