DDA Chapter 25

Hi, everyone. Sorry to be absent for a week. Just been in a bit of a funk, and haven't felt much like talking. To be honest, I haven't felt like doing much of anything. I think I really burned myself out. I have spent the last few days just reading and watching movies and snuggling with Timothy.

I am pulling out of it, though. I finally got through to the powers that be at the school, and they told me that although I technically have to be done by April 1, they give a 2 month grace period. That took the stress off, HUGELY!

Winter returned today, and we have snow on the ground. I'm hoping it will melt and warm up some before our family's Easter Egg hunt on Friday afternoon. I'm not too hopeful, though. It's supposed to be overcast and windy tomorrow and cloudy on Friday. Doesn't sound like it will warm up too much. Deep sigh!

Timothy had his 15 month checkup today (a month late), and he's doing really well. He's in the 50th percentile for height, and the 45th percentile for weight. He's surpassed all the milestones they look for, and the doctor is pleased with how he's recovered from the RSV and pneumonia. I did feel badly, though, as he started to cry the minute he saw the nurses. I think that on some level he remembers the whole time at the hospital, and he was scared again. Poor little guy. I really need to post some new pictures of him. He's changed so very much. I hate that! I told Alan last night that it's time for him to get a haircut. He finally has enough hair. That first cut is always the hardest for me, because they stop looking like babies at that time.

Have a good day, everyone. I hope you all know that no matter what goes on in my life, I pray for you all every single day!

Glynis - I'm so glad to hear that you'll have an extension on the school work!! I would love to see some updated photos of Timothy!

Good luck with the fundraising, as well as the application process, Theresa.

Just stopping by to say hello--i cant believe how crazybusy this week is! Tomorrow is my last day before spring break--i cant wait!!

Thanks so much for the well wishes, my MIL got to come home today, her levels stayed up last night and this morning, she's so excited to get out of there. I was happy to be able to come home and relax after work, we figured they would get home and hit the sack, you don't get any rest in the hospital, especially with something like that, the staff was constantly in her room.

Thanks for the PD with my shoulder, even my physical therapist thinks something else may be going on, I just need to get things rolling, this anniversary trip is very important to us and I really don't want to spoil it.

Another busy day in the book. I ran errands, though I forgot a couple of things. I came home and threw together lacrosse paperwork that I needed to have kids complete then went to practice. I had a bunch of people email me tshirt and sweatshirt orders and I had quite a few hand them to me. I'll place the order on Friday and that will be history too. We came home and I fed myself and the boys while Chris worked out. Then I made a 3 ft X 4 ft sign that needs to go up on the town bulletinboard tomorrow. I had completely forgot about it until today :headache: I managed to get it done though my markers are on their last legs. Tomorrow I'm subbing in the morning, then we'll hit the bulletin board and fill the truck a couple of times with baskets et al. I also need to bring a few things to the girls lacrosse practice at 5 PM and still make it for the raffle meeting at 6. Ugh I'm tired just typing it.

Good luck with your day tomorrow, Deb.

Debbie - Glad your MIL is home! I hope the doctor can find something on your shoulder soon!

Glynis - I'm so happy about the extension for you. That must be a relief.

Jen - One more day!

Today has been one long day! I think I've come to a decision though that I'm going to let them know this week that I'm just about done with the comp shopping. It's just too hard to fit in after having the baby all day and then the kids in the evening. Plus, I was absolutely beat by the time I got done at Walmart. I was already thinking about giving it up by the time the baby came, but I think the time is now. Today, for example it was 14.5 hours from the time the baby got here this morning until I walked I clocked back out at Target tonight with no real breaks in between (other than laying on the couch with the computer at Kristi's, but still...).

Now I'm trying to wind down so that I can go to bed. Tomorrow's just the baby during the day and then all of the kids from 2 on as it's early release day. Somewhere in there we'll actually figure out the plans for Easter as well.

This day is turning out to be much worse than I expected. The kids were wound up at school today so they were not easy to teach. I managed to survive that, but my Mother was texting me that the rumor at her school was that Our town will no longer be able to choose where our kids go to high school. They would all be sent to a specific high school which is absolute crap. I would sell my house and move before I would ever send my kids there. I did speak to our principal and she tried to be assuring that nothing had been decided, but I'm still very leary. I guess I'll have to attend some meetings on this though they are on Monday nights and I work every Monday night :headache:

Then I get home and have a message from the optical shop. I picked up Hunter's contacts yesterday and it was supposed to be a year's supply. She said it was there fault and she would order the other 6 month supply and mail them to us. Her message today was that I had only paid for a 6 month supply. Now I knew that she had told me it would be $114 for a 6 month supply which was $54 more than the eye doctor had quoted. None the less I clearly ordered a year's supply and paid $228. Now she is claiming that she told me it was $114 per box for 6 months and he needs 2 boxes (2 eyes). That would be $170 more than the doctor had quoted for 6 month supply. I was angry and shaking at this point and she had the odasity to ask me if I wanted to order the other 6 months. Um no, and I want to return what I have. Her "have they been opened" Me "yes because he had already worn the 1 pair that he has for 7 weeks (3 weeks longer than allowed). Her "well if they're opened then I can't take them back":mad::mad:
She is supposed to have Hunter's doctor call me...sometime. We certainly cannot afford $40/mth for contacts especially now that we've lost the Dr. Dynosaur insurance which means that we have no eyecare or footcare benefits. The boys orthodics are $500/pair times 2 kids. Man, when it rains it pours.

I got my new droid phone today! It's going to take a lot of playing with to get used to it.

Deb,

I don't know what kind of contacts Hunter has, but for the three of us here in contacts (all different brands of soft lenses), the highest priced ones are more in line with the first figure that you were quoted. Laura's are just under $50/box of 6, so just under $200/year. Mine are a little more than that. I think about $60/box, so about $250/year. I don't remember Matthew's, but his are about the same price as Laura's for a year. He actually has one that is changed every two weeks instead of once/month, but the total price is close to what we pay for Laura's. I hope that you get it all worked out.

I also hope that the high school change doesn't happen.

Good luck with your day tomorrow, Deb.

Jen - One more day!

This is a great one to ditto! Thanks, Tia.
