Glynis good luck to Katie. pixiedust:

Janet glad to hear Gary's foot is getting better.

How is the other husband's leg? (I forgot which wife he belongs to :upsidedow)

I need some warm weather, tired of the cold now. :guilty:

I think this one is mine. :rotfl: It is doing much better. Thanks for asking!

It is so cold here today. Could I have the 40s back without the pouring rain? :sunny:

I have a few things to do today, but I'm feeling very lazy this morning.

Emma & I had a very magical trip!!! We had great luck with weather. Lots of magical moments. Sunrise safari was awesome! We had dinner at California Grill on her bday at 5:30 and I didn't know MK was closing early so we got to see the fireworks from up there at 6:30 so that was great. When we saw Baloo & King Louis at AK the character handler came running after me as we were leaving asking us if we could stick around because King Louis wanted to sign Emma's book but he couldn't do it with anyone else around. Emma was very excited to have a very rare autograph. Emma also got to see Thumper & Miss Bunny-SO cute!!! We also saw the Snow Queen-she was very intense! Emma normally won't go near the face characters but had to see her because Joe & Lizzy had never met her. I think Emma's favorite thing was the Sum of All Thrills. She got to do that 4 times. She isn't tall enough to go upside down but loved it! AND....I got my highest score on Toy Story Mania ever!:cool1::laughing:

That sounds like a great trip! I can't wait to see the photos!

Hi, everyone! We are home from the hospital, and just trying to get back into our routine, plus all the stuff Timothy needs us to do. He is on different medications for the eye infections, the ear infections, and the thrush. It's difficult to remember which is given when and for how long.

He's pretty clingy this morning, so unless Alan is holding him for me, or he's down for a nap, I'll be holding him most of the day. He is very happy to be home, and not having any poking and prodding. I'm sure he'll be very upset when we go back to the hospital in a little while so they can suck out his nose. Luckily, that's only about a 20 minute procedure. But it is unpleasant to watch, and I'm sure to experience.

Thanks for all the prayers, etc. They have really helped!
I am so happy to hear that he is improving.

It's 59 degrees now but we are supossed to get hit with snow Friday night into Saturday morning. The grocery store was overrun & there are trucks everywhere spraying salt water on the roads. The anchorwoman on our local news says to be prepared to be in your home for a few days.

Then I heard that we might get anywhere from 1/2inch to 6 inches.:lmao:

In NY they close schools when there's over 10 inches & not an inch before. Here all the milk & bread are gone from the stores already!:rotfl2:

We have never been here for a "snow storm" so I am interested to see how it is handled. They did have some snow in December & closed the schools but we were in Disney then.

I went to school in Baltimore for my first year of college before transferring to a school closer to home. I remember the first time that they had 3" of snow and everything ground to a halt. I was so amazed coming from Buffalo. Where we are now is so much more hilly that it takes less snow to have an impact. We also have a lot more freezing rain here. I had never heard of a school delay until we moved here either.

Good morning!

Last night was so fun! Alan came home from work early so that I could take Jacob to Pack Meeting. I usually take all the kids, but Timothy can't be out much, and definitely not around other kids, so Alan came home. Jacob earned a badge for Webelos, and then all the Scouts made catapults. They turned out really cute, and they worked. Once all the catapults were made, we let them fire Starbursts at each other. The boys were thrilled that they worked. Talk about a fun night! I also got to meet a new boy who will be in my den. He's never been in Scouts before, but all the kids on the block have talked him into it. He was there last night, and it was great to see how all the boys made him feel welcome. I went from 2 boys in October to 10 boys as of last night.

Katie's play opens tonight. She's very excited. They went through the play twice at rehearsal last night, and she can't wait for the family to come see it. Alan will go tonight with some of the kids, and I'll go tomorrow night with the rest of them.

Other than that, nothing much is going on here. We'll stay in for most of the weekend, and try to get Timothy over all this nastiness! I'm hopeful that Mary won't be worse today, with antibiotics in her, so I'm anticipating a sickness free weekend.

pixiedust: that all the sickness finally leaves. It sounds like you had a great evening.

Amy, I loved the pictures from your trip! You have a beautiful family.

Heidi, I hope that you are feeling all better soon.

Dh's cold is improving, too, but now Miles is all stuffed up. He was fine to go to school today, though.

Miles' elementary school is having a father/daughter tonight. They sent a request to all the 5th grade room parents for veggie/dip platters. I figured with 6 of us doing it, I wouldn't have to spend too much. Unfortunately, only one other mother agreed to it, so I had to triple the amount I was planning on. I think that the problem is that none of us have daughters in the school, so some didn't want to make something that won't directly benefit their own children.

Glynis-glad to hear everybody is getting better and it sounds like a wonderful weekend. Tell Katie to break a leg!!

Heidi-I hope you feel better quickly! That goes for everybody who is ill.

Amy-I have to go back and check out the Photopass photos but knowing your family I am guessing everybody is too stinking cute!!:goodvibes

Stephanie-I hope you are better...if the bug is anything like the one that went through this house you should be feeling a bit better today.

Abi begged to go to school today...she is sick of talk shows:lmao:. I had to work at goodwill the previous three days to get my "volunteer" time in, so the poor girl was bored (well, she would have been bored with me home too...but you know how she felt). She actually sat up for most of the night while I was home and I know how she hates to miss school.

While at Goodwill I spent Wednesday and Thursday hoping this http://www.amazon.com/7910-Tranquility-Zone-Ultimate-Relaxation/dp/B000063CCR would still be on the floor when I was done Thursday working and it was!! Best $7 I spent ever I think.

Today has me meeting up with a DIS group....there are 2 new Coloradoans, one who was afraid she'd never meet anyone, so a few of us said "let's do lunch!" I have only met one of these ladies before....another case of me stepping out of my comfort zone.

Than my best friend growing up is coming over and we will go do something this evening. Good thing I am done being sick!!:rotfl2:

Tomorrow night is winter formal for Cassidy and Josh. Cassidy had my mom make her dress....it is so stinking cute!! and we had found matching shoes at Goodwill...which is almost a miracle because of the color combo and style of the dress.

:wizard: to all the sickies!

Princess has some sort of weirdness so I am taking her to the Dr. She had a runny nose Wed. after school. Fever and sore throat Wed. night. Yesterday she had what I suspected was pinkeye. Now I have it, too. Her eyes look better today, but now she is coughing and she has the WEIRDEST rash I have ever seen. It is bubbly. 2 big patches on her belly. She had one little itchy spot on her belly yesterday, so i was checking this morning to see if it looked like chicken pox. In 16 years of kids I have never seen anything like this rash. :scared:

DH is coming to take care of Pixie so we won't have to drag her out in the rain.

Glynis - Glad things are looking up. Sounds like Boy Scouts is going well.

Janet - I'm glad to hear that Gary's foot is doing better.

Heidi - Glad you're feeling better.

Stephanie - Hope you're feeling better too!

Bernadette - Can't wait to see your pictures. Good luck with Christmas. We just undid ours about a week ago.

Theresa - Enjoy your times out with friends. Sounds wonderful and I know that it is much deserved. I'm glad Abi's doing better.

Elizabeth - That sounds yucky! I don't know what kind of rash that could be. Hope it's nothing too serious, or contagious for Pixie's sake. Hope the pinkeye clears up for you both quickly.

Good morning, DDA! Starting out as a lazy day today here. Just don't have the energy to get up and get moving very much. The fact that I'm freezing isn't helping as I just want to curl up with a blanket and my coffee. One of my goals today was to finish up a list of things that needed to be done in a variety of areas - cleaning, Scouts, photo archiving, etc - so maybe it's a good day to just finish that list and then hit the ground running either tomorrow or Monday.

Thanks everyone.

Glad to hear that some are feeling better too.

Elizabeth your the nanny with tons of kids over the years, but could the rash be scarlet fever?

I got hit with a nasty tummy bug while I was teaching last night. I had to come home early, which I haven't done in over 15 years! Feeling better this morning. Still a little rocky, but overall much improved.

I hope the winter weather events that we are all experiencing hurry up and go away. I am so done with cold weather and snow and ice and wind and.... well, you get the idea. ;)

I did take advantage of being slow moving this morning... I got our taxes done and filed! :yay:

Well, now the bubbly rash is COMPLETELY GONE. :scared1:
I pulled her pajama top off so she could get dressed and the rash is gone. So that DEFINITELY makes it the absolute most bizarre phenomenon I have EVER witnessed.

It looked like the sort of thing that would spread - not the sort of thing that would vanish in an hour. So, so, SOOOO strange. She is acting like she feels fine. No fever. I have NO idea what is wrong with her. Probably some sort of wonky virus that will cause lots of short little funky symptoms and then go away on its own.

Elin,

 for getting the taxes done & hope you are feeling better asap.

She may have had hives. Those can be quite bumpy and here one minute gone the next.

It is so cold and windy here too. I was supposed to go to a nearby town to hand out more donation requests, but that is far too much walking in below zero temps so it will have to wait for another day. I did make my Lacrosse meeting this morning and I am now running the program. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I need to make a few phone calls this weekend, but overall it doesn't seem too labor intensive.
