Good Morning and Happy New Year.

We had a good time last night. Bowling was laid back and fun. We got home just before 1 AM. My best friend from High School is in town and she is stopping by this morning It's been years since I've seen her. Colby is excited to meet her

Our house is looking nice. I need to work on Hunter's room at some point, but otherwise it's pretty clean That rarely happens

I am disappointed with the give a day get a day Disney options. The closest ones to us are an hour away and there isn't much for families. I guess I'll have to hope that some opportunities are added closer to home

I agree their are several close but the ones that are close are 15yr or older.

Happy New Year DDA Friends!!! We didn't get to bed until 3am. That is VERY unusual for Chuck & I. We had a wonderful time with DeDe & Tom, Jan & Buck. Each of us was lucky enough to have one child with their significant other show up. DeDe's son, Wa-jiw, & his girlfriend were there. Jan's son, AJ, and his girlfriend were there. Becky & John, her boyfriend, were there. It was very relaxing and nice. We are going to have them over in about a month for a Wii party. We missed the other 4 kids.

We have Salvation Army opportunities here in town. We also have some about 75 miles away in Marquette where Katrina was living until August. We'll have to check them out. Chuck has been doing work for the local Humane Society and is wondering if there is a way to get them enrolled. They are building a new facility and Chuck has designed it.

There are two volunteer selections for us here: The United Way (but not in our town... a community 11 miles away ) or and Equine Rescue Facility. hmmmmm.... interesting choices so far!

There are about 7 things in our area DS is old enough to do. One is to usher for the theater where he takes classes. Simple enough!
There is also one where you can do trail maintenance at a park. Not my thing, but DH liked that one.
The others were some sort of airport ambassador thing, ramp building, I can't remember what else. But it pulled things up to 99 miles away and there weren't many jobs for kids under age 14. Right now we are too busy to add ANYTHING else to the calendar.

Nope. I did, however, print out my packing list. I'm in a quandry, though, and I feel your pain, Elizabeth. Usually I would start laying everything out on the bed in our spare room. Problem is, my parents arrive tomorrow and will be needing a place to sleep. There goes my staging area!
