Merry Christmas to my DDA family!! You all are the best family anybody could ask for!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful christmas. We are pretty much done for the day..my brother and dad both work in a couple of hours so we did presents and dinner already..now im relaxing!

How's everyone's Christmas going? We're home after both parents houses. Long day and I'm tired, but overall it was good.

Our kids are extremely happy. We did much less than past years, but they did get a Wii and a laptop so they are excited about that. My brother's family outfitted us with extra controllers and rock band and my parents gave the kids some games and we did too. They should be busy for a while. My family all seems pleased with the gifts that we gave them so I don't think I'll need to return anything this year. :cool1:

It has been a great day! The kids FINALLY woke up around 7:15 this morning, and away we went. Timothy didn't really understand what was going on, and the unwrapping really frustrated him. He's sure enjoying playing with his toys, now, though.

The twins both got pogo sticks and they haven't gotten off them, yet! I predict that they will fall asleep quite easily tonight.

Jacob loved the lego sets he got, and the gun that his dad bought him (think red ryder bb gun on a much larger scale. This one actually shoots bullets!). He and Alan are up the mountain right now, so he can learn how to shoot it. He'll be taking hunter safety in January, and can't wait!

Katie got an MP3 player, and is having a great time downloading songs, videos, and books to it.

Guess Santa did really well.

Alan went through all our pictures (18 years worth), and framed collages of pictures of all the kids for me. I was amazed, and shed many happy tears! He also had our neighbor (who runs a publishing company) do a book of some of my facebook posts. I spent the month of November doing "thankful" posts, and Alan and Carol found pictures to go along with all of them, and they published them in a book for me, and one for my dad, as well. I was absolutely blown away! On top of that, he got me the immersion blender I've wanted and an electric roaster that I've had my eye on, as well. Suffice it to say, I was treated royally!

Now, it's quiet, and harmony reigns in my house. I love Christmas. The ham is cooking, the gelatin salad is done, the sweet potatoes are working, and I just have to do a quick cook of the green beans, and Christmas dinner will be done.

Merry Christmas to all!!!

My kids got up at 5:00am. The kids loved their gifts, Dana got me a subscription to D23. Now we are cleaning up.

Merry Christmas!

Well it's been a Christmas....my grandma takes the cake....Grandma gives EVERYBODY a visa gift card (even Josh) but not me....she gave me cash to take the girls to get their teeth cleaned. I am having a crappy enough day to add the insult to injury of that......she did something similar for my birthday ($100 for a bill). I am trying very hard to be grateful for the help they gave us earlier in the month but I just can't. (Espescially since it just made a bigger fight between Jim and I).

Hi,
I hope you all had a good Christmas.

I had a lazy day. Had yummy cinnamon buns for breakfast. Then we opened gifts. Mom then needed to go to work. Watched the parade. Had steak/shrimp and twice baked potatoes for a late lunch. Relaxed a bit and then went and saw Princess and the Frog. Which I loved. I want to go back to New Orleans because of it. Picked up the pizza that we ordered before the movie and ate that for dinner.

Now I am being lazy some more.;)

Merry Christmas to my chosen family! Christmas here was wonderful. We had such a great day. I'll fill you in more tomorrow, as I need to get to bed because I have to work in the morning.

I hope you all had a very special day with your families and friends.

The kids are so excited about all their loot. We are all exhausted, but they don't want to go to bed. I've tried to explain that it will still be here tomorrow, but they are so excited.

Merry Christmas, my dear friends!

We have had a wonderful day! I cried three times during present opening, but then it was all for good reason so I'll take it! I had gotten a "prize" from Kodak Gallery for $15 off anything so I set up an album of pictures from WDW for Terra to use. She got on and picked a coffee cup design, then picked and placed the pictures. Mom helped her finalize the purchase and we only paid shipping. She ended up picking my a design that said "Live, Laugh, Love" and had 5 picture slots. She picked pictures from 5 different ages and Disney trips and two of them were some of my top favorites. It turned out so cute and made for cry #1.

Then, I opened the one Phil kept telling me was really stupid. I kept saying that I was sure it wasn't and as it turned out, it resulted in tears part 2. He knows that I really like the Mouse of Zen stuff on FB where this Disney fan puts hiaku poems to Disney pictures. So, Phil took two pictures from WDW trips and wrote hiakus for them. Then he had them printed and framed them for me. They're only printed on paper for now, but gave me the CD of them as well so that we can have photo prints made. The first one was one of my favorite pictures of Terra from the last trip and the poem is so sweet. The other is both of us at Osbourne lights and the poem is pretty funny. I'll post pictures later.

Cry #3 was at the very end. After all of the gifts were opened, MOm pulled out one last one for me. It was labelled To: Tia, From: Meme (my grandmother who passed away a couple of years ago). It was a black scarf with a cardinal on it, my grandma's favorite bird. A few months before she died, I found the scarf and bought it for her Christmas present the next year. I had packed it in the Christmas boxes so that I wouldn't forget it. She passed away before I could give it to her. Mom found it that Christmas and pulled it out knowing I wasn't ready to find it. Then last Christmas we were in CA. So, this year she wrapped it up for me. As soon as I saw the package I started crying and everyone else was pretty much right behind me.

I think this year was some of my best gifts ever!

Terra had a great Christmas too! About halfway through the morning she opened a remote control skunk. She was so excited, I thought she might burst. She busts out, "This is even better than a Wii!" Go Aunt Kristi! (On my suggestion at $4.75 clearance price lasy Aug.) About 5 presents later, we open our new Wii. More excitement. Phil asks if it's better than the skunk to which Terra replies..."Well, they're about the same." In all of that excitement she barely even realized she had opened a video camera as well. LOL! After we finished presents though, she spent a good hour making videos of the skunk and a few other things. My favorite is the movie of the skunk chasing after and "spraying" Kaylin's new Elmo Live, Encore doll while Elmo is telling jokes. Too funny! I ended up getting Wii Fit Plus, Toy Story Mania and Lego Indiana Jones with the Wii. Terra's dying to set it up, but it was too crazy this afternoon (not to mention the 2-3 hour nap that I took). Hopefully we'll get it set up in the morning so that we can play for a while before I have to go to work.

Between us, we also got 7 board games, several movies, a few new toys and a few pther random things. The appetizer type dinner was a great move. The day was so much more relaxing for me and for mom, plus we all still ate plenty. In fact, the pies haven't even been touched. Tonight, we all (except Phil) went to see the new Chipmunks movie. The kids all really liked it and I did too. All in all, a very good day!

I'm glad to hear that most everyone else had a wonderful day as well. My thoughts were with you all!

But now, I'm off to cut into that chocolate pie!!! Yum!

Christmas was quiet here. We spent the day planning our Feb./Mar. trip. My favorite present was from Chuck. He finished off the top of my pantry closet. I've been wanting that done for years. It looks fantastic. He also put in a door with a window into the breezeway. Those are my favorite types of presents.

Vicki - Sounds like a perfect day to me! Sorry that the girls weren't there or there for long. Your presents sound great too!

So I took a page out of my mom's book and told everybody we were going to a movie (I made my mom take us to Ghostbusters when she was going through a rough time...she remembers it even now as the best mood lifter) and I waited until we were at the movie theater to choose the movie....we went to Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was a cute movie and a good way to end a fairly cruddy day.

My girls enjoyed all of their presents and laughed at one of mine. My mom gave all three of us girls hobo gloves....I put mine and the first giggle was that my pinkies barely poke out of the holes and the second was the only non-texter (me) got the hobo gloves with little flaps to expose the thumbs. :rotfl: (similar to these http://shop.freehands.com/ except they convert to mittens)

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

The boys opened presents at 6 this morning so I could get to work. I did all the prep last night for dinner, so all that needed to be done was the turkey. Gary put that in the roaster for me & it turned out pretty good lol

It was nice being with the family, we had a very enjoyable day :goodvibes

We will all be getting together again on the 3rd to celebrate Garretts birthday :thumbsup2
