Elizabeth-Ive used Airtran multiple times and have never had a problem..But I always hear horror stories on every airline and never have any major problems

Airfare is making me angry. SW released their absolutely asinine fares ($1124), then American raised theirs so now they are even HIGHER than SW ($1149). Airtran has reasonable fares BUT I am not sure I trust them. There is only one non-stop per day out of DFW, and one AM non-stop out of MCO. If they cancel the non-stop we will be traveling for 6-8 hours. Going TO Orlando that would just make me extremely mad. Coming home it would be a bloody disaster because DH has to go to bed so he can work the next day. Also, that AM flight out of MCO leaves at 8 AM, so we would have to be on Magical Express at 5 AM. On the other hand, for a savings of $400, I can get on Magical Express at 5 AM.

Quick! Everyone tell me your Airtran stories! And tell me your Orbitz stories while you are at it!

I would wait a little bit after they released fares. I find that teh fares are always lower a few weeks after they release them. YMMV

I am sure they are testing it out as they already announced that the reimagined double Dumbo will not have a queue in Fantasyland. So they are probably trying to see where else it may work. I find the concept intriguing and I look forward to seeing what direction it will take and how it may effect the entire concept of the theme park. Imagine a world with no Lines.

Abi received her package from Leighanna today and is thrilled with it. I will take pictures and put them up probably on Friday night (working at Goodwill for 2 9 hour days the next couple of days (so it makes it almost 12 hours that I am away from home) so that I can have the break off with my girls.

If you have not received your exchange and I haven't already warned you that they were going to be a little late please PM ASAP so we can get your exchange to you before Christmas.

I am hoping the fares will come down. I am just spooked by the fact that American only waited a couple of hours to not just match, but outprice, SW. I will NOT pay over $1100 for 3 tickets. Won't do it.

I am nervous about Airtran because I have read so many reports of them destroying luggage. I need my luggage. All of it. Intact. I also worry about them fooling with the schedule. Since there is only ONE non-stop flight we could be in for some LOOONNNNG travel days if they take that one flight off the schedule. I thought booking through Orbitz would be good because they have that price guarantee.

People have plenty of terrible things to say about American, but we have never had a problem with them. My current problem with them is that their fares are $1149 (including luggage fees).

Chances are we could go on Airtran and be just fine. For now I think we are just going to watch and see what happens with SW and AA.

Deb, I'm so relieved to read all of your updates since Hunter's surgery! It's definitely going to be a Merry Christmas in the Brooks' household!

Thank you for all the Christmas cards we have been receiving! We actually ran out of cards...that's life being married to a politician who sends cards to half of Sharonville. I forgot that I had a separate spreadsheet with your addresses, and he didn't factor in another 25 cards for the DDA...I'll try my best to come up with something after we get back from another trip to Huron this weekend.

My friend had a HORRIBLE Airtran experience on Monday. She was trying to fly to WDW with her husband and four kids (ages ranging from 1-9). I have no idea why her first flight was cancelled but they didn't get to WDW until well after 1 a.m. These were her FB updates:

First flight cancelled; second flight delayed; now they just came on and said they can't find the pilots and dont know if they are coming. I think my pixie dust has run out

Update - just announced they "think" they may have located a pilot "willing to fly us;" going on hour 6 of entertaining kids in airport

Update 2 ~ sitting on tarmac for 90 minutes- now there is a part that needs replaced - another 40 minute delay - kids are officially going bonkers - where is the free alcohol

Update 3 - we are on Airtran and yes we probably could have been there by car, boat or walking by now. I am glad to say we are finally up in the air. Any free alcohol - NO but they did give us free wifi and all the gourmet pretzels we wanted for our 2 hours of sitting on the tarmac with no air conditioning and no running water in the bathroom.

Tonight is DS's band concert. After play rehearsal. It is going to be a brutally long day for him.

The tug-of-war between the band director and the drama teacher wears him out. No wonder they aren't allowed to dual enroll in music and theater at the Arts magnet. There aren't enough hours in a day!

I was looking forward to the weekend until I remembered we are meeting friends for breakfast Saturday AM and I have to work Saturday PM. And DH wants to put the Christmas tree up in between. I am already tired and it is only Thursday. I may end up working part of the day on Christmas Eve, too, so next week might not be as short as I originally thought.

DS has 3 BIG projects to do over the break, so I predict many fights and much tension. Happy holidays, indeed.
