Amy, glad everyone in your house is still in one piece! When DS was in preschool a little girl actually severed her finger in a door.
Princess LOVES Fancy Nancy. I gave her the "Splendiferous Christmas" book, so I think she has 3 or 4 different stories now.

The big kids got an earful that that's what could have happened to poor Noah. They also lost their bedtime story for the night, since they broke the "no slamming bedroom doors" rule, and Matty's reply was, "That's okay, you'll read me one tomorrow."

Alyssa got the new Fancy Nancy Christmas book, too, and I'm thrilled Fancy Nancy has books in the "I Can Read" series as well.

Life never slows down around here!

We lost some siding in the crazy wind on Christmas Eve and this time, it can't just be tacked back on, because it was literally ripped in places. Our Escape is also in the shop, due to some engine issues, and the price has gone up three times as they keep finding other issues. Luckily, Kevin's mom had an extra car to loan us this past week.

Alyssa and Matty were goofing around with closing bedroom doors the other night, and Noah was trying to play, too. Of course, he got his finger caught in the door. The blood and screaming was awful, but luckily, it turned out to be minor when all was said and done. Matty, on the other hand, was not so lucky, on New Year's Eve. He was running around the house and managed to fall and hit the side of his head on the corner of the doorway between the family room and kitchen. He is our first child to end up in the ER, and he's modeling two lovely staples for the next few days.

A Z-pack put an end to my sinus infection, but none of us are 100% right now. A friend told me yesterday, "You finally look pregnant!" Less than 9 weeks to go! I have a long list of things I'd like to get done before Sammy arrives, but as you all know, it's hard enough to get the day-to-day stuff done!

I am so disappointed! the one thing I could not get off my mind to get Garrett for his Birthday was a laptop. I could not afford a new one so I went to Ebay. I don't need lectures as it has shipped, but she must have shipped it on a slow boat from China! I paid on the 19th & feel that even with the holidays it should have been here by now. I just emailed her a not so nice letter which I know will not do anything but let me blow some steam off. She has 100% feedback, so I do feel safe there & I paid with Paypal. If it is not here Monday I am filing a dispute to get my money back.

I was so excited about giving him this tomorrow & now I just want to cry

This has been a crappy year(others things going on as well) & we are only 2 days into it. Happy fricking New Year to me(sorry had to get that out as I really just want to scream)!

Nope, never read the Fancy Nancy books. Alyssa hasn't gotten into them.

The house is clean (for the most part), laundry is halfway done, groceries have been bought, itinerary and ADRs have been tweaked. My folks should be arriving any time. Still not packed though. AT ALL. Slight panic is setting in, as to when am I going to have time to do it. I'm off tomorrow and then work Monday and Tuesday. We leave Tues night for the airport!

I have a tracking number, but all it says is that the postal service was notified. No new updates that it is even out for delivery.

I am going to gripe about one more thing & then I will stop lol The house next door that really should have been torn down is in the process of being fixed up(can't imagine anyone wanting to live in that house). Anyway the guy fixing it up apparently is staying there. He has electricity but no heat, so he is burning wood in something to keep warm & my house smells like it is on fire. I am just waiting for that house to catch fire & ours will go with it. If the smell gets any worse I am calling the fire Dept. Maybe they can tell the a$$ that that is not a very wise thing to be doing.

I'm sorry that things are starting off poorly for you all, Janet! I hope you hear something on the laptop soon, or even better, that it arrives by Monday. The wood burning doesn't sound very safe. that it works itself out for the best too.

There are pollution laws that it sounds like he is breaking.

The travel channel is having cruise specials all day That has brightened my mood.

Presents are all wrapped & put into one big box that is wrapped & is now under the tree. Garrett is at a friends right now so he will see it when he gets home & think he got one big present lol

A couple of his friends will be staying over tonight & the plan was for them to go to the movies, but wind chill readings are going to be horrific. So I think that is out, but we do have a movie for him to watch that he has been wanting to see, Tim Burtons "Nine". He does not know we have it, so I think he will be content with that. He requested sweet & sour meatballs for dinner tonight, so those are in the crock as well.

We decided not to tell him about the laptop, just tell him he has one more gift coming so he can be surprised.
