:wizard::wizard:Sickies be gone
:wizard::wizard:Spirits be lifted

A new year is quickly approaching. Lets hope that everyone gets and stays healthy and has a prosperous and happy new year. Hopefully all the bad is behind us all:wizard:

We just got word that our good friend and neighbor passed away last night of terminal gall bladder cancer. He was diagnosed in October of 2008, and given 2 months to live. He has been a walking miracle for this last year. He was able to spend this Christmas with all his family surrounding him, and was able to see and hold his second grandson, who was born just a couple of weeks ago.

My heart is hurting for his family, but I'm so thrilled that he is, at last, at peace, and out of pain.

That is very sad news, Glynis. My heart aches for the family. :hug:

Okay you sewing experts. I have a question?

As of Jan 1st we have to wear either solid navy tops or tops that would coordinate with Navy scrub pants. I have a few tops that will not coordinate with the navy bottoms. My question is what would you sugest I try to turn the tops into. I have a pink tink, a purple tink, a teal Mickey and Minnie and a pink and purple princess top. I also have a 101 dalmations Halloween top that is purple.

I was just on the DVC members website and discovered that our waitlist for the Tree House Villas came through :cool1: We'll be in the villas from 7/16 -7/23.

Yeah!!! The pictures Elin posted look so great. I'd love to try these if I ever get to take all of the kids.

Sorry, I had a crazy day in the office. My cousin is the proud grandmother of a beautiful baby girl called Aemelia. Mommy, daddy & baby are doing fine.

I'm glad everyone is doing well!

Trip was good except I was worried about Emma at home and then I got sick there and then Joe got pneumonia when I was gone too. But things actually went pretty well on the trip....

I'm glad that you took some time off, Bernadette. I'm sure that it helped. Sounds like you all had a really nice Christmas. I hope that you, and everyone, feel better soon! :grouphug:

I'm so sorry, Glynis. How great that he got to experience a few last really good times. :grouphug:

Hello all! Just trying to get caught up before I have to be off and running again. I figure I should try to accomplish something today! At least we're not the only one living on a new Wii, though ours hasn't actually been on yet today. I did get moving and spent 45 minutes on Fit last night. Still need to get there today as well, but it's fun so I should be able to make it happen. Of course, first I have to figure out what's for dinner.

You could probably make lots of things for the girls. I really like a pattern called a Vida-it really isn't too hard but it is a European pattern so you have to trace it out onto say tissue paper and then add your seam allowance and the directions aren't great but there are some great online tutorials for it. I really like the style plus it doesn't take too much fabric.

A very easy pattern is the Portrait Peasant on youcanmakethis.com

You could consider making patchwork skirts. I made Lizzy one once and while it wasn't too hard it is very time consuming and I hate gathering.

How about a patchwork quilt?

I think I need some Wii accessories. We only have the remote that came with the Wii. I think I need the recharging station and at least one more remote. And I'm thinking about Wii Fit too.

Do you have Toy Story Mania?

Deb-I lost your quote but wanted to say I am so ready for a new year!

I would definitely recommend at least one more remote and nunchuck. I just got one since ususally is will be just Terra and me or Phil and one of us. Plus, Kristi has two remotes if we ever want to bring them back and forth for the kids to play all together. We got Toy Story Mania and like it. It's pretty fun and there are several goals that are really tough to hit so there's some strategy to it as well. I like the Fit Plus. Kristi had Fit a year ago so I already knew that I liked it. Plus adds a few more games so there is some added variety. I like having the recharger too. I just got the two spot one since that's all we have for now and it's nice knowing there will always be batteries ready to go. Kristi's Wii wasn't played for a long time because they needed batteries. Now they have a recharger too (plus a new game) so they're playing all of the time as well.

We have Toy Story Mania. I really like it! Its funny-I stink at the ring toss in the real game and I stink at in on the Wii too. I love all the plate breaking games! We still haven't figured out how to shake the bees out on the balloon pop game.

We also have Disney Sing It which Joe & Lizzy like.

They'd make cute reuable shopping bags. Pot holders, aprons, pillows. Instead of thinking of them as tops think of them as fabric and the world is your oyster:goodvibes

I spent the entire day cleaning. I totally emptied out the master bath and cleaned. I also put up the new shower curtain rod (curved) and all the tinkerbell accessories that I got last year. I still need to paint, but at least it's clean and organized. I also cleaned our bedroom and the family bathroom. All Christmas is erased from those rooms. I'm exhausted, but I feel good about getting things done. I must say that this is the first day in since Hunter's surgery that I have actually felt good. yeah me:thumbsup2

yes, thats the way I was thinking of them as fabric. Just could not think of what to try to make. I was actually thinking of Pillows. At least for the tink and princess ones.

:wizard:To everyone not feeling well!:wizard:

Thanks Bernadette. Had not thought about a quilt. I had thought pillows or some how making them in to doll blankets.
