To everyone heading to Disney have a wonderful time!

Tammi glad the wind did not blow you away last night!

Tia yay for getting the carpets done!

Deb sorry about the shot ordeal, hope Hunter had a calm night

I agree about the wind it was horrible.

Good morning! Thanks for the birthday wishes for Andrew yesterday. I can't believe he is 14.

Tammi -- enjoy the days of taking Nicholas lunch! I asked Andrew about sending in cupcakes or cookies and he told me no one does that anymore. So, I talked to his teacher and she suggested donuts, which he thought was good so we sent those in yesterday. I hate that I have to think about what "cool" is to teenagers... :rotfl:

We have possible snow again tomorrow, but this time with accumulation. Andrew's party is tomorrow afternoon. I'm a bit stressed about it, but we'll just wait and see what happens. Most likely, the snow won't cause a problem until late in the day, but since Dallas has no clue how to drive on snow/ice there will be people that panic and stay starting in the morning with just the threat of bad weather.

The basketball game did not go well last night. It was like the Harlem Globetrotters playing us. I hope tonight's game goes better. We don't have to win but not being embarassed would be nice. :rolleyes1

Deb -- I would call Hunters doctors for advice TODAY. He (and your family) already have enough stress without the needle phobia. No one likes shots but his comments are scary. Sending lots of prayers!

Elizabeth, Elin, Steffy, Terry and anyone else -- HAVE TERRIFIC TRIPS! :)

Made it a good day everyone!

Great, Katie is failing Spanish!:headache: This is with the teacher who had the class dance Thriller. Katie got off to such a bad start & she just can't get back on track.:sad2: All of her other grades are A's & some B's so I just cannot figure out what to do. They have a tutoring session at lunch today so i told her she HAD to go. She just does not get it that she'll have to go to summer school & take spanish again if she fails...Teenage girls can be so unreasonable!!!

Glynis - Can't wait to try the recipe. And you say it's easy?!?! Bonus! Maybe I'll make them for breakfast on Saturday since Terra and I have a day to ourselves finally!! How many rolls did your half recipe make? The recipe card the site has says "Servings 8", but I'm not quite believing it. ;)

Half a recipe made approximately 25 rolls. When she says 8 servings, she's talking about 8 cake pans, each loaded with 7 rolls. It's a big batch!!! The half batch was the perfect size to handle, and roll. The filling got goopy, but it was so worth it in the end.

Poor Katie! I can understand her not wanting to talk to the teacher, after what happened with the dancing thing! Is the tutoring done by the same teacher, or is it peer tutoring?

My Katie is doing poorly in pre-Algebra. Unfortunately for her, she has mine and Alan's ability to think math problems through (not good). I keep telling her to talk to the teacher about the tutoring program, but she will not do it. I want her to do this on her own, without mommy stepping in, so I'm staying out of it. At the end of the year, when she doesn't get her cell phone because of the math grade, maybe she'll realize I was right!

Would anyone care to get Pooh to sign a postcard or get well card for Hunter? I'm sure he would love to get one. If anyone thinks that they will have time, I will PM you our address

We are going the week after Christmas. I know you will probably get an offer earlier than that but send me your address anyway and I will also send one when I get there.

Good morning, DDA!

I've got to go get showered and wake Terra for MOPS, but then that is it for the day! Woohoo! So nice after the last-minute late night, that was a rough one on top of that, at Kristi's last night, plus the carpets. The rest of the day we can just take it easy and bring a little Christmas into our little piece of the world.

Good Morning. We let Hunter sleep in this morning. He was an emotional wreck from 9:30 - 11:00 last night. He is just so scared about the surgery and frankly we all are. We know that he needs to discuss it and his fears are all very rational. I've talked to several doctors and this all seems pretty normal if there is such a thing as normal these days. Monday we have a series of appointments with the surgeon, pre op and a Childrens pre op program with tour. Hopefully that will help with some of his/our fears.

Deb - Continued :grouphug: and prayers. If there's anything that you think would help Hunter even a little bit, but let us know and we'll all be on it.

Let me see if I can catch up properly:

Deb-I am so sorry that Hunter seems to be so hard to console....although if I were him (or you) I think I would be the same way...I have a great fear of needles also (probably comes from them not being able to find veins, veins collapsing, etc). I hope that Monday eases everybodys fears at least a little.

Glynis-I will look up the cinammon roll recipe....maybe I will surprise everybody and have them ready for Christmas morning:confused3. Are you going to visit your new nephew....is that why you are going to New York?

Abi is also struggling in her LA class....maybe it is the year of struggles? Hers has more to do with going from an honors class that wasn't really honors to Language Arts that would be considered honors for freshman. Her teacher is an odd duck too.

Because the high was supposed to be 12-15 today...I am staying inside!! It was cold enough being out yesterday for the interview and that was about 20 degrees.

The interview was very, very odd....instead of calling me and telling me that the interviewer had been called into a non changeable meeting (I had told them I could come in any day and give me a ring if the time had changed) I was interviewed by somebody who had been in the job for less than a month. She couldn't answer my usual questions (not even "What is a normal day like?") so I am not hopeful. But, it is where I would love to be back in....the Financial Aid Office in a college...and this one is in transition from what it is (an ESL college with 2 degrees (Bachelor of BA and MBA)) to what it once was (a fully accredited college with more than just foreign students). Loretto Heights once was one of the first private colleges in the state it slowly went bankrupt and a Japanese conglomerate bought it specifically to house and educate Japanese students exclusively...it has been what it is now for about 10 years.

If anybody knows where I can find my Christmas spirit please tell me. It's starting to affect my girls.

So, for anyone interested, I found the ULTIMATE cinnamon roll recipe! Go to the Pioneer Woman blog and look for her cinnamon roll recipe! It is HEAVENLY!!! It was so easy to do, as well! I only made a half a batch today and that made 25 rolls. Plenty for us and some friends! I adjusted the icing recipe a bit, as well, since we don't drink coffee, but it turned out yummy! Alan took one, ate it, and told me that if we weren't already married, he'd propose to me! That's success! I was planning on making them for neighbor gifts this year, but I'm not sure, now. It was an all afternoon thing, and quite messy. I guess I could do it over the course of a week, or so. Hmmm, I've got time to think about it.

Any chance you can do a copy/paste for me on here. I tried to pull it up but my work computer won't let me in. I'm going by the grocery store on the way home tonight.

The tutoring is done by that teacher so Katie does not want to spend even more time with her. When we get back from the Christmas break I will have to see about a private tutor or something because I cannot see how she can fail this class when she was getting A's in Spanish last year.

After numerous phone calls this morning, we have come to the conclusion that Hunter needs to reduce the dose of Keppra that he is taking. He seemed much more emotionally stable and rational on the 1/2 dose and when we upped it to the full dose on Tuesday that is when we started seeing funky changes. The plan is to cut back by 1/4 which should still be a full dose given his weight. I also talked to pedi psych and they concur that it is most likely the meds that are rockin his world so they will call back on Monday to see if the changes help. The doctor felt that there isn't enough time between now and surgery for them to really help as therapy takes time and we don't have time.

Does anyone watch "The Middle" on wednesdays (ABC)? OMG, that IS my life. :lmao:

Theresa maybe an odd interview was just what you needed :confused3 You've come out feeling good and bad before, so odd is new and new could be good :goodvibes:wizard:
