DDA Chapter 24

Whew, what a day. I had to run out to pick up printer ink and parchment paper for Colby's costume. I also picked up a dress for myself for the cruise as well as a cute tinkerbell purse. I ran home and took down most of the outdoor Christmas decorations and made a huge pile in the basement which I now have to dry out and put away. Then I came in and printed Astronaut patches for the costume and started to iron one on only to find that the paper coveralls have a plastic componant so the material began to melt. I made a big hole in one arm. That meant that I had to use material that I had cut off the arm length to patch the mess I made. I ended up ironing the rest of the decals onto felt and sewed them on the costume. The costume came out fabulous and I only had $11 in it. I took some pictures today, but I hope to get some at school tomorrow. That took longer then I expected so I warmed up leftovers for dinner and had 5 minutes to eat them as Chris and I had to rush off to an 8th grade parents meeting. Dad watched the boys. I am now chairperson for 2 huge committees. I knew it was coming since I haven't helped with the last few fundraisers due to Hunter's health issues. So now I need to organize a basket raffle along with an event to promote them. I'm going to throw an indoor carnival with old time games like knocking cans down, softball tick tack toe, etc. Each 8th grader will have to come up with a game to make and run for the event. We will give tickets to put into one of the baskets that are being raffled off. I need to find some little prizes from oriental trading too. I'm also chairing the Grad Dance committee. The theme is top secret and the kids have never found out the theme ahead of time in the history of the school:confused3 My theme suggestion was accepted so now we need to move on with the planning. I have also committed to doing it for half the money that previous classes have done. I think I can pull it off with money to spare and it will be fabulous.

Are you nuts?! :confused3

Of course, but which part makes you think so?:lmao:

I'm trying to figure out when you are going to sleep?! :lmao: You always have a lot of things in your to do list but this seems crazy even for you. You constantly amaze me with all you accomplish.

I don't work full time so that gives me more time to do activities for the kids. Besides if I want it done right then I need to chair it...right?:confused3:rotfl:

I've organized a couple of basket raffles for cub scouts so this won't be too bad. The carnival is more coordination than anything else. The dance will get lots of volunteers because there are plenty of Moms that have distinct opinions so they won't miss a meeting :lmao: I just need to stroke a few egos to get help. :rolleyes1

Well our fish is bright & perky this morning.:thumbsup2 Off to get him peas when the kids go to school.

Happy Friday!

I am volunteering in Mo's class today. I am going to miss being in the girls' classrooms. I have had so much fun the past few months, helping out and getting to know the teachers and staff on a more personal level. At least I know the girls are in good hands!!

Who watched AI last night?

Pants on the ground....pants on the ground....looking like a fool with your pants on the ground............
Didnt watch AI but I heard them talking about it on the radio on the way to work and i Youtubed it when i got home...hysterical!!!

Guess what?!?! I got a job!! I interviewed Tuesday for Senior Staff in a daycare center. I was offered the job today with a start date of 1/25.
gly!
CONGRATS!

Good morning. :)

This morning we have a Student of the Month breakfast at school. Nicholas was chosen by his classmates for the month of December. The word of the month was HONESTY. That is what Alyssa got chosen for last year. After that I'm going to do some furniture shopping. My parents gave me money for Christmas to buy a new rocker/recliner, so I'm going to see what's out there. I really want leather, so I may need to add a bit more to what they gave me, but it was very generous of them. I still need to get a new entertainment center for the tv I got last summer. Everyone is trying to talk me into mounting it on the wall, but I'm just not sure if I like that look. I like having an entertainment center where I can put knick knacks and such. I have what I want in mind, but I just can't seem to find it.

Good luck with the shopping today, Tammi.

And please tell Nicholas that I am very proud of him.

Robyn congratulations on the job & good luck with Mondays interview!

Anne Marie glad your fish is better today.

Deb sounds like you will be keeping very busy!

Tammi hope you find the chair & entertainment center you want.

Garretts laptop finally arrived yesterday :cool1: So glad that ordeal is over! Garrett & I are both very happy campers now :thumbsup2
