The news is not good. Hunter has a brain tumor. It is on the left temporal lobe. He will need surgery to have it removed. It is expected to be benign which in brain terms means slow growing. It is in the area that effects language. The removal could cause loss of language and with it communication. Best case scenerio he will struggle to find words that he knows. I would be able to give the meaning, but not come up with the word. He could also have problems with names. At the other end of the spectrum he could not remember any words. It is possible that he could relearn things using the other side of his brain. The do not think that it is cancerous, but since he has defied the odds this entire time it is not out of the realm of possibilities. We're hoping to have surgery done in a couple of weeks as that is the soonest the surgeon is available.

your family is in all of my family's prayers. There just isn't any more I can do from so far away. It's one of those times I wished we all lived closer to each other.

Deb - I am without words, but plenty of tears. All I have to offer, is my prayers along with all our love and support. I'm sorry that none of us can be there to offer it more directly. I'm glad that you have family nearby who can. Our prayers are with you all...for Hunter that the surgery goes well and that, mentally, he is able to make it through everything. For the Colby and Nick, as they work their ways through a very difficult time for their brother. For you and Chris as you both navigate these scary waters. I know that you all have the love for each other as well as the strength to make it through this all. Visit us as often as you need to vent, cry, and/or escape. We'll all be here waiting for you and ready to help however we can.

I was serious on the phone, if you need some support outside the family I will be out there when he has surgery. I know you have a very strong support system but I know they may need support as well. This looks cool and we have Verizon. At least there is one thing that is good about them taking over Alltel. Service has deteriorated significantly under them. Supposedly they haven't converted all the Alltel towers to Verizon and service will improve again once that happens.

As the tears fall I am sending prayers up for all of you. Miracles do still happen. I wish I was closer so I could be better support for you. I know Vicki posted about this on face book. I copied her post and pasted it. I have already seen a few responses that others are praying for him as well.

Thank you all so much. I feel that you all are our family too and your support and prayers mean so much to us. I'm sitting here crying along with you. The lights are out as the boys are watching a movie so I can cry and not let Hunter see me.

My mother went to her doctor today and got Xanax. She hasn't been able to calm down since all this started. Hopefully this will help her and thus help us all.

Deb, I just don't know what to say. Your family is strong and you can count on them. You can count on all of us too. You can call me anytime. Seriously, anytime. I'm a light sleeper and my phone sleeps on the pillow next to me. I wish I had an idea what to say or do to offer some comfort. All I can think to do is offer cyber hugs and tell you I think your surgeon is da bomb.

Anyone planning to shop on Friday? I can't see myself going out this year. Thankfully I have done a lot of shopping online so I'm not in bad shape.

I usually go to Kohl's but I just bought a bunch of stuff online from them with 30% off plus Kohl's cash and then went to spend the Kohl's cash so I really don't need anything from there this year.

I think I'll go to Staples. I want to get either a 16GB flash drive for $29.99 or an 8GB one for $12.99. I'm leaning toward the 16GB one. I find this is the easiest way to move photos from my laptop to the backup hard drives on my Mac.

Then I want to go to JoAnn's. They have fleece on sale for cheap. I still have some fleece I bought last year but I want to make my mother in law a fleece shawl for Christmas so I want to find a fabric that would be better for her. They also have a great price on flannel so I might look at that to see if I want to make the kids PJ pants. They don't really need PJs but I always give them PJ's for Christmas and I'm not sure I should break that tradition.
