TGIF! Today was grandparents day at school and I took the rest of the week off.

I'm watching my grandson and then shampooing the living room carpet. Yay me! My sister will be here in 2 hours, so I don't know when I'll be back on.

What a cute story!!!

I love hearing about everyone's traditions & holiday stories.

My realization came when I saw my uncle trying to wrap a pogo stick for me late Christmas eve night...Think I was 9 or 10???? I was crushed.

I found out one year a couple of days after Christmas. I had been outside playing in the snow, came in the house for a few minutes and Mom asked me how I like the new mittens that she had gotten me. I said something like "I thought Santa brought these?" Mom, of course, was mortified, but it really never mattered to me. Santa was still "real" to me because what could be more special than my parents trying to bring magic to Christmas for us?!

I don't remember when my girls stopped believing. It was unspoken in our family that we don't admit there is "No Santa". If we start discussing it, then there are no more Santa presents. The girls know that Santa brings a gift until they get married or have kids (hopefully, the marriage comes first).

The news wasn't as we had hoped today. The EEG showed abnormal activity on the left side of his brain which is not consistant with the diagnosis of Juvenile Epilepsy. His current diagnosis is complex partial epilepsy which essentially means that he has both grand and petit seizures of unknown origin. They put him on a med to stop the seizures. We pray that this works, but we also must figure out what is causing the seizures. The possibilities run from nothing to life threatening. Telling a 12 year old that it might be life threatening is NOT a good idea. He was so upset. The second doctor had much better bedside manner and was quite assuring that he did not think it was anything life threatening and if he did he would get it on the table now. In any event we have an MRI scheduled for 8:50 tonight. Hopefully tomorrow morning we can eliminate brain tumor and brain abnormalities from possible causes Meanwhile, we are mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. Hunter and I are hoping to get a nap in now since we have no idea what time we will get home tonight. Please continuing praying for Hunter. On a positive note this form of epilepsy may not effect him for the rest of his life, but there is no way to know how long it will effect him.

As for the Tower of Terror meet next month... I will try to get there, but since I am not riding the ride, you all can feel perfectly fine going on if I don't make it. Remind me of the time for our ADR at Mama Melrose... I thought I put it in my PassPorter but I didn't.

Santa leaves the kids one or two presents and fills their stocking. Santa always gets something from their lists. The rest of their presents are from us. That is how our families always did it. That way Santa is loved, but we are loved more

ouch, $850 to fix my van. We have been getting hit from all directions with unexpected expenses!

So have we. My van, the hot water heater and the dryer all within the last month. Disney will have to wait until our Feb. trip.

Off to finish putting all the outside lights and decorations up before the colder temps hit and the snow flies later this week!

We are at the eye dr. Katie is being taught how to put in contacts. she is such a drama queen so me and the kids are in the waiting room. There's no way I would go in the room with her. This is her 2nd try, last time was too freaked out to touch her eyes like that.

I had a horrible time with my contacts when I first got them, I was tempted to give up and ask for glasses

He won! He won!!!!! I haven't seen the final show yet. I was hoping to watch it online now but it isn't online yet. I drove home last night. However, Chuck watched it for me so he could report the results.

Yeah, I was in LOVE with Donny in my younger days.

The news is not good. Hunter has a brain tumor. It is on the left temporal lobe. He will need surgery to have it removed. It is expected to be benign which in brain terms means slow growing. It is in the area that effects language. The removal could cause loss of language and with it communication. Best case scenerio he will struggle to find words that he knows. I would be able to give the meaning, but not come up with the word. He could also have problems with names. At the other end of the spectrum he could not remember any words. It is possible that he could relearn things using the other side of his brain. The do not think that it is cancerous, but since he has defied the odds this entire time it is not out of the realm of possibilities. We're hoping to have surgery done in a couple of weeks as that is the soonest the surgeon is available.

He's being treated at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. His neurosurgeon came from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
