DDA Chapter 23

Deb, I hope that you and Hunter were able to get good naps in!

A couple of weeks ago a stone flew up and really dinged my hood. It is dented and scratched to the metal. It also left a few little marks on the window but, fortunately, didn't do any real damage to the glass. I took it in today for an estimate on repair of the hood. $396.71! I guess we'll just get a little bottle of touch-up paint and do the best we can to keep it from rusting. There is no way I can even consider spending that much money.

We had a good nap, no weirdness. Hunter slept for 3 solid hours and I only woke about a dozen times  I still feel much more refreshed. My parents are on their way down to sit with the kids as I need to go grocery store.

No work for me today as my back went out again. This time it was just bending over to get clothes out of the dryer. It has been acting up the past 2 weeks & yesterday it hit full force. Such is life I guess.

Ouch! I hope that you're feeling better, Janet.

Laura pulled something in her back yesterday, and it hurts to move, but she's ok to go to school. She's too young for that! It might have something to do with the 30 pounds of books that she has to carry around all day.

Hope she's doing okay. That's the really bad thing about your whole "no locker" thing.

I'm glad he's doing a little better. I hope it continues and even more that the doctor can help tomorrow.

Hello, DDA!

Just a quick drop in to say hi and check up on everything. We've been running around most of the day with MOPS and then some errands. Tomorrow is a big cleaning day. Last night Terra asked me last night how long until Thanksgiving. Then when I said 7 days she said, "Really? Are we all ready for Thanksgiving?" Um, no. Not in the least. So, tomorrow it is! Especially since Saturday is the annual craft fair at a local school and we all usually go to it for awhile. I think "we all" will be about half the normal this year, but it will still be fun.

Anyone have big plans for Thanksgiving outside of the usual?

I had my parent's came down to watch the boys while I went to the grocery store. I decided to stop by the Aquatic Center on my way by to hand in my key. As it worked out, the new director, board member (the one that donated the land and money) and the financial manager were in a meeting. I walked in, handed them my key, much to their suprise. They asked why and I gave them a brief, no name rundown of the poor personel, management policies and lack of team work (dictatorship may have been thrown out). The board member gave me an I know what you mean to which I responded "you have no idea, there are things going on that lawsuits are made of". I said that after I get my son's situation under control I would come in to discuss things further and that I would consider coming back "if" they get things under control and I walked out the door. I hope that I left them with lots of questions and concerns and no details ;) They really need to take a look at their operations then I'll put in my 2 cents worth. Man I'd like to be a fly on the wall now.

I got a call from Chris as I was checking out at the grocery store. Hunter was complaining of a tummy ache and they couldn't find the thermometer. I put a call into pediatrics to make sure it was noted in his chart. This was on my drive home. He does have a tummy ache, but no fever. The plan is to just watch him. I must say that I feel like I can't leave without him at all. Colby is also extra needy and he says he also has a tummy ache :confused3 Calgon...take me away.

Deb - I'm glad Hunter had a peaceful night.

Anne Marie - I hope Katie is feeling better. Want to come shop for me now?

Janet - sorry about your back.

Beth - :wizard: for Laura.

Tia - we'll be heading home to my parents' for Tday. They get back from their cruise tomorrow. I can't wait to hear how it was.

Elin - I'm glad to hear that your trip is still on. Like someone said, this trip is going to be very bittersweet for her. Good thing she has a dear friend along to help her through the rough spots.

Yay, it's Friday for me. I'm off until Monday!

I cannot believe I am coming here to post something horrible again. The father of two of my students died suddenly today. He had knee surgery six weeks ago and apparently this pulmonary embolism was related to that surgery. He was just in class Monday night! My heart is breaking for these fatherless children. Please hug your husbands and children extra tight tonight.

Elin, this is so tragic. I can't believe you are dealing with these horrible losses in your life. So sad for these children and his family.

O Elin-I am so sorry to hear this..such sad news..

Deb Colby is just probably scared that what he saw the other night will happen again, so he may be stressing and that is causing the tummy ache.
