DDA Chapter 23

Deb-it seems to me that with the way the aquatic center is being run (or not being run) that the state health dept or whoever is the overseer of such facilities need to step in. This center is too new to not still be on the radar...I would think.

That's just it, there is no department in the state that the aquatic center falls under. Technically they don't even need a lifeguard :confused3 They are free to make decisions based on their little temper tantrums and after just talking to my coworker it is clear that there is no one that is willing to advocate for us. It is a power play to make it clear to us that we have absolutely no power. I really need to find another job and get out of there before my anxiety gets any worse.

Well I went to Best Buy & they dd not have the $250 laptop. No store within 50 miles has one so I didn't have luck with that. The next less expensive laptop is $329 so I have to think about that as both Katie & Daniel asked for that for Christmas.

I did get the Nintendo DSi for Sophie in pink at Target. I had some $ leftover on a giftcard so I used it towards that. Now I just have to get some games for her. This time last year Toys R Us had their "buy 2 get 1 free" on Nintendo & Wii games but I must have missed it or they are not doing it this year.:confused3

After that I went to Walmart & got Sophie some craft suppies. So I made alittle dent in my shopping.:)

The laptop deal was only yesterday so no Best Buy would have them today. I'm sorry that you didn't find one. Nick and Hunter both have DSi's and Colby will get his next week as I picked it up yesterday. They are really enjoying them and seem to be exploring all the features.

The weather wasn't all that great this morning but it made for a great time at MK, things were a walk on, and we rode Splash twice without getting off, they didn't have the cannons on so as long as you wn't in the weren't in the front you didn't get wet.

We left right after lunch and came back for what turned into a two hour nap, now were going to make our way over to the Grand Floridian, followed by the party, I can't wait to see the castle lit up. :yay::yay::yay:

Kristine - sorry to hear you're not feeling well

Amy - Yeah for a great appointment, take care and drive safely
:wizard::wizard: Here's hoping your room is ready when you get here.

Deb - Sorry you're having such a hard time at work

Heidi - I'll call you in a bit

Kristine glad you have a diagnosis. hopefully the meds will start working fast. you need to be well for your trip.

Checking in quickly to say it was a good appointment. They don't think another ultrasound is necessary. :goodvibes
:woohoo:What wonderful news!!!

Congrats on getting a start! I'm still thinking about a DSi for Lizzy as her DS isn't working real well but I might just hold off until her birthday as the others will want them too and I don't want to buy 3 right now.

Have you checked out any of the black friday websites to see if anyone is having any deals. I thought maybe Staples was.

Kirsten loves the DSi...she's a gadget kid....can't imagine where she get's it from!! :cool2:

I have been sick for days & it's cutting into my packing time....today's diagnosis is bronchitis...so hopefully with drugs I will bounce back quickly.
Did she have the DS already? Is it that much cooler?

:wizard:Hope the drugs kick in for you quickly!!!

That didn't happen, and its gonna be cold at the party tonight. However things are looking up for the rest of the week.
Stay warm! Have a great time!

I would be worried that something will happen when you are on duty and then be named in a law suit.

What do your boys like about the DSi over the DS lite?

Yay for low crowds this morning! Have a great time at dinner and the party!

They had it a few weeks ago. I'm hoping they run it again though, because I didn't get anything either. Now that I know what the kids want I'm better prepared. :thumbsup2

Kristine - get better soon!

Amy - Yay for a good check-up.

Heidi - have fun tonight!

You too, Debbie!

Kristine I hope the meds help you feel better quickly :wizard:

Tammi and Anne Marie - Hope your shopping went well. I managed to find a couple of stocking stuffers for Terra today just by chance.

Amy - I don't remember if I responded before our not, but I'm glad your dr appt went well! Have a marvelous trip!!!

Anne Marie-don't know if this link will work but comcast had a link to laptops for under $300:

http://shopping.comcast.net/search_.../form_keyword=/mode=comcast_COVERnotebookpcs/
Thanks I will take a look at that.

I figured I missed it. I wasn't in "holiday shopping mode" a few weeks ago.:headache:

Anne Marie good luck with the laptop hunting! If I come across any good deals I will let you know :thumbsup2
Thank you!

Someone tweeted that MVMCP is crowded tonight....I hope Heidi will enjoy some time there

Chuck and I have decided we are going to do what we can so we can go to Disney at the end of February. We may have to cut some stuff out (like my daily pepsi) but we can figure it out somehow. We both really need this.

I never went. It's been pouring here for 48 hours straight and I just could bring myself to venture out in it. I did make a quick stop at our new Super Walmart for a few necessities before picking the kids up from school. It's pretty nice, as far as Walmarts go, but their toy selection leave A LOT to be desired. Their grocery section was nice! :thumbsup2

If there is a will, there is a way Vicki & I know you & Chuck will figure it out :goodvibes

I like our Super Walmart, but I do not like having to go from one end to the other get pet supplies & cleaning supplies. Guess I do get my exercise that way :rotfl:

The boys like being able to connect to the internet, Nick has really enjoyed creating animations, taking photos and manipulating them, he likes that you can go to the nintendo site and purchase games vs going to the store to buy them, you can also record sounds and use them in your animations.

Chuck and I have decided we are going to do what we can so we can go to Disney at the end of February. We may have to cut some stuff out (like my daily pepsi) but we can figure it out somehow. We both really need this.

Amen Sister. I'm sure you can cut back a bit and manage the trip. The only thing stopping me from outright quitting my job is that fact that we need that income to afford our vacation this summer. We all need that vacation. I have decided to get my resume together this weekend and start searching. There is a position open at Toyota so Chris is looking into that for me.

What car rental companies do you guys use in Florida? We need to drive to Tampa to visit my brother so I'm trying to check pricing on that.

I'm hoping I have enough points for a free flight but I haven't had time to verify that yet.

I am looking to see if there are any openings for evening positions at rental places during the holiday season to help. Any ideas on side jobs that could make me some money that don't require me to work during the day?
