The Official Packing Rules state you must be packed in full a minimum of 12 days prior to departure. If Heidi likes to pack 40 days ahead, more power to her! :rotfl2:

I am not even thinking about packing yet. Today is our 35 day mark.

I remember getting lots of snow, but that was a long time ago.

Just a quick reminder that we will be streaming from BLT and it looks like we will now have 2 different streams, as we are both taking our laptops.

Site that will have the streaming - eyes on ears dot com you must register to see the streams. Then just go to live video listed at the top of the home page and you will be able to choose what stream you want to watch.

I find it very difficult to believe that you haven't thought about it some.;)

I do have some Lizzy's summer stuff (too much) for our trip set aside vs all her other summer stuff that I put away. That's a start right? I could probably pack a lot of my stuff now too but I really ought to be working on Emma's Halloween costume.

Cool!

20 now with up to 6 more expected. You all know you are envious of me and the snow!:rotfl2:

(this amount doesn't include the 3/4 inches that fell and didn't stick. )

I've changed my mind about wanting to move to Colorado. :rotfl: Please keep the snow out there for a while!

I would probably love it, but only if it were say Dec or Jan. Oct, not so much.

Snow definitely should stay in Dec and Jan (not that it does around here), and I'm glad that we haven't had much yet. I also only like it if I don't have to drive in it...I'm a WIMP.

And rules are meant to be broken, so packing the night before is perfectly acceptable. :rotfl:

Thank you for the incredible show of support. It means more than you all could possibly know. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: They've suspended the teacher and will re-evaluate her abililty to keep her job on Friday.

It seems my DGD spoke out of turn. As far as I'm concerned she could have stood on the desk and started cheering, the teacher should never have balled up her fist and punched her. So, as Elizabeth would say... we shall see.

My meeting went pretty well. I am exhausted and mentally drained. But I get to see Michael Jackson's movie tomorrow!!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

I missed this the first time. I'm pretty mellow (no, really, I am), but if any teacher ever laid a hand on my child, I can't even tell you how ballistic I'd go. And for speaking out of turn?

Good Morning,

I'm going against DH's wishes and trying to go to work today, I think possibly that things are improving. This is nuts, I only have a week left before the trip and I haven't got anything ready.

Please take care of yourself!

Good morning...toady is the last day of parent/teacher conferences!! Going to have the meetings then get ready for tomorrows' halloween parade/party

Yay!

Our parent-teacher conference days are so drawn out. Yesterday was the first, and we had our conference with Miles teacher. Everything is going great except he is "resistant to writing." He still has a 94 in writing, so it isn't horrible, but we need to find a way to get him to write more. She recommended having him write in a journal every night. His teacher is terrific, but I feel so OLD around her!

Glad he's doing well! How's Matthew doing at school?

Today was our preschool Halloween "party." We try to keep things pretty low-key, since they are all three year olds, but we theme the day and have a few extra treats. They were so cute! One boy was Max from Where the Wild Things Are, and that was an awesome handmade costume. We also had Goldilocks, Aurora, Ariel, a cheerleader, a kitty, Superman, the Man in the Yellow Hat (does he have a name?) with a stuffed Curious George, Darth Vader, Steve with a stuffed Blue and Shovel and Pail, a skeleton pirate, a turtle, and Cinderella. I could kick myself for forgetting my camera, but we had a lot of parents come in at the end of the day that we taking photos. We set up a "trick or treat" down the hallway at the end of the day, too, that the parents helped with. It was a little chaotic at the end, but I think everything went well. I still can't believe that we're already at the end of October! :scared1:

Hi...did I tell you my brother is now living in Highlands Ranch? My mom talked to him this morning and he said the snow bank was at the top of his privacy fence in the back yard. That's a lot of snow.

Lynn

I am glad he found a house!! He obviously had some drifting....it was only up to my knees when I had to go desnow our satellite dish. :rotfl2:

Thanks! Matthew seems to really be enjoying it. He is looking forward to cross country being over, because practice takes a lot of time and energy. It sounds like the coach really works them hard. He thinks that they will probably continue running after the season is done (last race is Halloween), but it shouldn't be as intense or take as much time. He is a little bored with classes, since he has taken most of them before, and he hopes to get out of taking chem lab next semester to save another 3+ hours a week. He is also considering changing his major from Bioprocess Engineering to Polymer Chemistry. Bioprocess Engineering sounds great, but I guess it's very much tied to the paper process industry. There is too much industry focus for him. But who knows what he'll decide. They go in for advising in a couple of weeks to make next semester's schedule, so he'll be able to talk to his advisor then. We'll see him for 5 days at Thanksgiving, and I can't wait! I saw him run two weeks ago, but I didn't really get to talk to him much, since he was with the team. We haven't really seen him since Labor Day.

Those are some very creative costumes! I love it.

it will be gone by Monday....and this winter is supposed to be the wettest in a long time....of course we've had the wettest summer. Otherwise we get one or 2 snowstorms like this a year and the rest is easy peasy!

Well, then, maybe someday...:)

so the Maui Wowi position has been reposted on Craig's List...less than 2 weeks after they supposedly had somebody who was a better fit. I sent an e-mail saying that I would love to be reconsidered for the position and if not what I could I have done differently to be their first choice.
