Debbie - Have a fabulous trip! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Elin - I hope you and Bob enjoy your time away together, too. Enjoy meeting our DDA friends. Take good notes and pictures!

Vickie - This is absolutely crazy! Here's hoping the politician's can get their acts together and approve a budget! In the meantime, I guess you get to enjoy some down time?

Becky - Thanks for the release date. I knew it would be out before Christmas, but didn't know the exact date. Guess what I'm asking for? Jacob has gotten me the last 2 books for Christmas, so I guess we'll make it 3, now!

Elizabeth - What a schedule!!! Good luck to you and your DH and C as you try to make your way through these next few months! Wish I could come see the play!

If you all could continue to keep your fingers crossed for my dad this morning, I'd appreciate it. He goes to the oncologist this morning, so we should have some more answers soon. He's finally agreed to include us kids in the treatment, so we are feeling a bit better about things. It may mean that my life will get crazy for a while, but I'll do whatever he needs! I've been clearing my schedule so I can go stay with him whenever he needs someone.

Alan is taking Jacob elk hunting this weekend, and you've never seen such an excited 9 year old! You may remember that last year's elk hunt found those 2 stuck in a snow drift for most of the day. Well, this year, Alan is taking another adult with him, so I'm hopeful that we won't have any mishaps!

I get to go to book club tonight, and that's about all the news there is for me! Nothing too exciting, but at least it's a night away from the kids and I don't have to put any of the kids to bed.

Thanks, Glynis! I can't remember if I told you guys that there are only going to be 4 performances total - 2 day, 2 evening. I REALLY hope DS gets one of the evenings!

Good thoughts for your dad's oncology visit!! :wizard::wizard:

Good luck and good wishes headed toward your dad, Glynis.

Glynis - continued good thoughts for your dad.

Debbie and Jennifer - I hope you all have a fabulous trip as well!

I kinda figured he would make it. ;) But anytime you need a stand-in, I'm your girl!

Have a great time! Have a glass of wine for me!

Thanks! We will toast you a couple of times to make sure it works. :rolleyes1

Has anyone ever flown business class on Airtran? I can upgrade us for not much $$ but don't know if it is worth it or not.

It is a good deal, I think. It also waives baggage fees for the first 2 pieces of luggage!

Happy Birthday
Disney World!

My friend's brother was found. She posted the following on Facebook about 5 hours ago.

"They found my brother! He's hypothermic & disoriented, but alive. Thank you all so much for your support & prayers. It truly is a miracle."

Elin, Debbie, Jennifer and families. Have a wonderful time.

Glynis more good thoughts for your dad. :wizard:

I realized today was the first of October (duh!! I know). But we haven't gotten a lot of response for the exchange....again my fault. So I will extend it another week (except for Elin...I will send her her name(s) today)

I am having a pity party over here...every time I think I've drug myself out of it, I seem to fall back into the punch bowl.

SO....maybe if I have something else to keep my mind off of my own perils I will do better. I will start accepting names for the 3rd (or is it 4th) annual DDA Ornament Exchange.

Send me:

Name:
Age (only kids ages are necessary):
Favorite Disney character:
is homemade okay:
anything that you don't want:
Address:

I will accept names until October 8th and then make sure I have them out for those going to our favorite place.

$5 minimum
Packages to be received by December 15th.

Theresa - Sorry the funk won't go away, I'm one of the ones who meant to send you a PM but didn't, but please include me, Mickey of course is my fave, anything is just fine homemade or otherwise, glad I don't have to include my age. . .:lmao: I'll PM the address later if you don't have it.

Thanks for all the well wishes, there's actually sun shining out there, we'll head out after the last load comes out of the dryer, so I can finish packing my things. (Sorry Elizabeth)

I'm taking the netbook so I'll check in while we're there.

I have done it and I really like it!!! Seats are a little bigger and free drinks!!!!

stephanie just told me that she heard that Art the Greeter at the BC is retiring next month.:sad1::sad1:

I sure will miss going to see him. We specifically had plans to stop to see him in Dec. Now we won't get to see him:sad1:

My wonderful friends! I am in such a state right now! My heart is pounding and I'm literally sobbing..... for joy!!!

The oncologist gave us such good news! The cancer in the prostate area is so tiny that one shot every 4 months will take care of it. Dad has the first shot scheduled for Monday morning. My brother will go with him and stay with him until we see if there are going to be any negative side effects that we need to deal with.

As for the rib, the oncologist didn't see any cancer at all. He did see a scar from a cracked rib my dad got about 4 years ago when he fell out of a tree. He did say that it's possible that there's some cancer in the scar, and if there is, the shot will also take care of that. But he thinks it's most likely arthritis that the PCP mistook for cancer.

I can't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now! I know you will all celebrate with me, and I feel so blessed to have you all to help hold my hand through this whole thing. I have felt your love and your good thoughts coming my way, and I thank you with all my heart!

I'm off to wake the baby up from his nap and drive to my sister's house to go to lunch to celebrate! I'm too excited and happy to sit still anymore!
