DDA Chapter 23

Hi DDA! I popped on here to track down Elin (we're meeting a week from today, you know! :)) and thought I would say hello. I have been crazy busy with an RN legal consulting project, serving as VP of our 200-member moms of twins+ club, taking on a new business venture and raising two girls who have mastered running and throwing temper tantrums with the feistiest toddlers! They are very smart though, if I do say so myself ;), and are super sweet to one another and to everyone else more often than they are terrors :upsidedow

Tammi - please give Alyssa a big congratulations from Ohio! Some of my earliest performances were as "invited" extras in the Nutcracker... such an awesome experience. How exciting for her, and for you! :goodvibes

I hope you all are getting the same lovely, crisp fall weather we're having the next few days. I am so thrilled we're finally getting a semblance of Autumn, and of course I'm going to head out for 90 degree heat instead. *sigh* Oh, well - a hot day in Disney is better than any day in Cincinnati!

Take care!

We got the phone call tonight!

Alyssa's ballet center called and invited her to be in this year's production of The Nutcracker! The older girls audition for their roles but the younger one's get "invited". This is her first year eligible to be in it. She will be one of the cooks. Rehearsals start at the end of October. She's so happy!

:cool1::cool1:

:wizard:Good Luck Becky

:cool1::cool1:Elizabeth's DS

:wave2: Jennifer...Have a nice trip

:wizard:That Bob gets home in time to go to WDW with Elin or :idea:that Bob doesn't make it home and Tammi can go ;)

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALYSSA!!! How wonderful!!! I so wish we lived close enough that we could come see her! I love to have my kids watch the Nutcracker every Christmas!

Hi Jennifer! It's good to see you!

I hope your trip this time is wonderful from beginning to end, just not the latter half. Can't wait to read about it!

Good morning. :)

Happy hump day.

I don't know why, but my kids have an early dismissal today.

and mine had late start...but I know why....the learning community thing.

Congrats to Alyssa!!

Congratulations to Alyssa!!! I'm sure she'll have a blast.

Prayers needed for a friend of mine from Girl Scouts. This is her brother.

Lots of prayers coming their way.

In better news, I am booked on the repo cruise from LAX to Vancouver and then the 1st Alaska cruise. We are not sure if we are going to end up doing either or just one of them. We might just do the repo, as a way to see the Pacific coast and then spend time after that exploring Vancouver, Seattle and other areas.

I want to cruise Alaska but want to cruise the glaciers which DCL is not doing. Plus I want to do lots of land stuff. Definitely a train ride through Alaska. So I am looking into other cruise lines to see what they have available. So I can do a cruise and land portion.

I have an early day tomorrow as I am getting my oil changed and an early day Friday as we have an all staff meeting.

Very cool! I would love to do either of those cruises.

Bill was giving Jackie a whole bunch of advice last night...if I closed my eyes I would have thought I was watching an episode of "Father Knows Best" it was sweet but sooooooooo old fashioned. Jackie and I did our best not to giggle. It is best for him to get it out of his system though.

Another funny note...Bill and I were talking about sex and how Chris is up not get the talk from us soon. And I asked him if his mother ever told him anything. He said she gave him a book....but took a permanent marker and crossed out all the so called objectionable words!!:laughing:

Okay, that is just too funny. Explains so much.... ;)

Good luck getting done with everything this week. What a send off. Since we may not see you much between now and then, I'll wish you a very happy, relaxing and enjoyable trip now. Have fun!!

Good morning, DDA!

Not a lot going on here today. (I don't feel like I get to say that much lately.) I have one Scout thing to catch up on. Other than that, I mostly need to do laundry and clean up around here so we'll be ready to leave for Branson Saturday morning. Terra and I are doing recycling at the Cardinals game again on Friday night so we'll have a late night and even earlier morning so I don't need packing in there too. I did find out that there is one down side to our trip...my oldest friend is going too - just the next weekend! My parents are going with her parents and grandparents. We've yet to be able to get there at the same time and this trip is no different I guess. Terra's classes at Silver Dollar City are the first weekend and she can only get off the second weekend. Oh well, maybe next year.

For now, though, we've got some errands to run. Kristi needs to get some resumes sent and doesn't have time between today's multiple jobs to get it done so Super Sister is off to the rescue. ;) Have a good day everyone!

Hello, DDA!

Miles just brought the mail in. I received an "exclusive" invitation for a Visa card called the Black Card. It's "the world's more prestigious and versatile credit card." Other than some vague references to "concierge services" and "luxury gifts" I can't find anything special about the card. It's annual fee is $495!!! Since we only have no-fee credit cards, I had no idea that there were cards with annual fees that high.

So, how cold do you let the house get before you override your stingy dh and turn the heat on for the year. (Yes, I know that it's not even October yet.)

I think dh is wearing down. I gently pointed out to him that the highest temp expected in the next 10 days is 65. I don't want to see those high gas bills either, but I'm getting wimpy in my "old" age.

At indoor temp of 69 the heat goes on. We had it on last night. Today it is back off.

I just dropped Bob off to get his ride out of town. There is a chance they will need to stay up in MD tomorrow night too. I told his boss he is responsible for getting Bob to the airport on time for his flight on Friday morning or there would be big trouble when I got back from my solo trip to WDW!

pixiedust: that it all works out!

It's currently 62 in here, and I am freezing. I decided on a work strike today. I spent most of the day reading under a comforter on the sofa. :rotfl:

We had a nice little party. Pizza and cake for family and one friend. Nick is happy and he is thrilled with his DSi. Now the 4 boys are watching X men. I've still got laundry to finish since our blankets are still in the dryer. I've managed to actually make my house look semi presentable today. Hopefully I can continue the progress over the next few days. If I can't donate my time to Extreme Home Makeover then maybe I can makeover or at least clean my own house :lmao:

You are always welcome to do an "extreme makeover" down here. :rotfl:

Happy Belated Birthday to Nick!

I've felt icky the last couple of days....fever and a sore throat....blech.

I have a phone interview on Monday for a job that I sent my resume in for yesterday. It looks like it would be a pay cut to start...BUT I am not sure and any pay is better than what I am making right now. :rolleyes1

:woohoo: Congratulations to Alyssa!!!

We have had our heat on since the end of Aug. Its set at 70 and there has been like 2 days that it hasn't come on. As of right now its only 48º out and I see snow before Halloween again this year. :cold:
