DDA Chapter 23

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes for Kevin.

Unfortunately, he is worse today. I've never seen him so sick, and the pain and numbness has taken over the entire left side of his face. Obviously, he couldn't go to work today...he can barely talk.

If anyone has any experience with this and can offer advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Amy -- I'm so sorry! Randy got his first case of shingles around 38 and it was on his face near his eye, but he got lucky that it didn't cause too much pain. I agree -- call the doctor's office with an update that he's worse and see if there is anything else you can do. Sending prayers for him!

Elizabeth -- yeah for DS's report card.

Jennifer -- I hope you are less sore today.

Guess what -- more rain! What a surprise...

Good morning.

We were so busy yesterday. Nicholas had a game in the morning, which they lost big time. I had to take Alyssa to her dance studio because she is entering the PTA Reflections contest. Do any of you have that? The the this year is Beauty Is.... You can either write a story, paint a picture, do photography, make a movie, choreograph a dance, etc. So she did a dance, I videotaped her, and will put it on a DVD for submission. Then she has to write about why her submission fits the theme. After that we came home and decorated the outside for halloween. Bob came over and he helped me pull out 4 dead bushes that I had around my back porch. I had to go to the grocery to get fixins for dinner. While there I saw my neighbor to the left, my neighbor to the right, and my neighbor directly across the street. It was like our whole street was shopping. Weird. Anyway, it was a busy and productive day. Today we are going to go shopping. Now that the weather has started to turn I need to get Alyssa some more jeans and Nicholas some long sleeved shirts.

My kids do Reflections every year. It's a big thing, here. Katie has already turned in her entries, and the other kids are working on theirs.

Deb - you sound like things at the restaurant are picking up. Is this likely to last, or is it the leaf peepers coming out?

Amy - I'm so sorry about Kevin! I am with the group recommending calling the doctor! That would scare me silly!

Jen - Hooray for weddings and Disney trips! How fun it will be to hear all about it.

Elizabeth - I'm so sorry that you are cranky. Anything you want to talk about? Congrats to your son for his great report card. We should be getting Katie's first middle school report card in a couple of weeks, and I'm looking forward to it.

Elin - I loved your F&W TR! Your pictures were great, and it sounds like your trip was, too, with the exception of the heat and the Hulk.

Anne Marie - Sorry about the bullying episode! That is so hard to deal with! Is it resolved now? Congrats on Easter at Disney. I'll try not to be jealous!

Theresa - Good luck with all the rest of the band stuff. Crazy weather!!! I'm also keeping fingers crossed for Thursday!

Things here are plugging along nicely! I'm crazy busy, with Scouts, school, and the baby! He's on the go, and I feel like I should really be losing a lot of weight chasing after him. Why doesn't my body agree???

We took the kids to the Witch Festival this last weekend and it was really cute! I got some cute pictures, and will try to get them uploaded soon! We also took the kids to see Harry Potter 6 at the dollar theater. All of them except Timothy really enjoyed it, which meant that Timothy and I were in the lobby for most of the movie. Not fun for me!!!

Now, we're celebrating a short school week (Fall Break this Thursday and Friday). We are going to leave after school tomorrow to go to my dad's to see the Fall season of the Festival. We'll see "Tuesdays with Morrie," "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged," and "The Woman in Black." It should be fun! My brother and his family will be there, and so will my sister and her family. We also plan to celebrate Dad's good health news! I can't wait! Unfortunately, we are also "celebrating" the one year anniversary of Mom's death, so it will be a bittersweet gathering. I imagine we'll go to the cemetery to put some flowers down and remember.

I sure do miss talking to you all every day. I promise I'm trying to get things to slow down. Unfortunately, life is not listening to me!

Nope, the kid got an in school suspension but is very disturbed & I either want that child removed from the school or I will remove mine.

I'm so sorry about the bullying! Does your school have a zero tolerance policy? I would definitely be doing whatever it takes to make my child safe at school.

Well, the Easter Bunny is pretty resourceful, so I'm sure he'll find you wherever you end up. It will be a pretty cool Easter!

Today was a very interesting day. Please keep me in your thoughts. All is well on my homefront but there is some majorly interesting things happening at work. It all comes down to holding staff accountable. It has not been a fun place to work for the most part but it can't be helped. Times are tough and we have to find creative ways to get the job done. I remind myself every morning that we have not laid anyone off and everything I'm doing is to keep that trend going! I sure wish the employees realized that.

I hope he's feeling better soon, my SIL had shingles when my DD was pregnant with Aubrey, it took a while for him to get over it.
