You didn't miss it - you must have simply forgotten. In the very early planning stages we talked about meeting at Victoria Falls, remember? But then as the plans took shape we all decided to meet at MGM instead. :)

Brrrrr....2 of those days sound too cold!!! I guess I will pack alot of cold weather stuff..20 more days!!!

Elin, Thanks for the ecard!

I have finished tweaking my outfits for the trip, and I packed DS's stuff. Now I just need to review the contents of our quart bags and pack my backpack. I don't really own very much that can be layered, because when it is cold here I don't stand out in it! I usually go by the WFTV forecast but it only goes 5 days out. I looked at the long-range websites and the overnight lows are really much colder than I like.

I was rather irritated to discover that my Reward dollars can't be redeemed because I have NINE. To load the card you must have a minimum of TEN. Whatever. My statement doesn't cycle again until after we get back so I guess those dollars will stay in my account until next year.

I had a very, very, very small piece of pecan pie before dinner. :teeth:

Totally forgotten! :upsidedow I must be getting old!!

Good evening all! Back from the inlaws & quite stuffed myself(the pecan pie did me in lol)

My tummy felt much better by the time I left work.

I am going to go to Menards tomorrow & try to get a shop vac for Gary & Walgreens for candles for myself. I really haven't seen much this year that I want or need. Like Deb I have done most of my shopping online. Riley says he wants to go with me, we will see if he gets up lol Oh I might stop at Pennys to get my snowglobe :thumbsup2

Home Depot has a $100 shop vac for $20 tomorrow.

We had a nice dinner at my Great Aunt's house. I could hear everyone discussing Hunter, but no one actually spoke to Chris or I about it though we did get lots of unusual hugs. We are full and dessert was yummy.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, things were good here, work went smoothly and then we had a nice dinner at my youngest daughters. Here's a couple of pictures from today,

Elin-I've been obsessing about the weather all week. I told Dorinda that I was going to bring long underwear and she thinks I'm crazy. She's been to WDW with lows in the 30's but she insists that is because it was January and it just can NOT get that cold in December. She told me I should not check the weather again until Saturday. I don't know if I can do that.

OH...and I should know better than to get all crazy....in the past I have found that weather.com is more accurate than accuweather.com.

I have postpartum brain by proxy. Maybe you have it, too! ;)
:lmao:You are too funny!!!

Have you ever been to Home Depot on Black Friday? Is it crazy? I saw something there I might get Gene. Is it crazy like Walmart of Best Buy?

WOW! Look how big she is! So cute!!!!

The news is not good. Hunter has a brain tumor. It is on the left temporal lobe. He will need surgery to have it removed. It is expected to be benign which in brain terms means slow growing. It is in the area that effects language. The removal could cause loss of language and with it communication. Best case scenerio he will struggle to find words that he knows. I would be able to give the meaning, but not come up with the word. He could also have problems with names. At the other end of the spectrum he could not remember any words. It is possible that he could relearn things using the other side of his brain. The do not think that it is cancerous, but since he has defied the odds this entire time it is not out of the realm of possibilities. We're hoping to have surgery done in a couple of weeks as that is the soonest the surgeon is available.

Deb and family, I don't know if you remember, but my sister-in-law had a brain tumor discovered when she was pregnant a little over four years ago. She (with input from many doctors and repeated MRIs) elected to finish the pregnancy before having surgery. I am sitting with her now. It was so stressful waiting and watching and worrying. My nephew was delivered by C-section on December 21, 2005, and SIL had surgery right after the first of the year. From the sounds of it, the tumor was in a similar location. She progressed to the point that she was already having some language deficits before the tumor was removed. After surgery, she did have to have some therapy. She is back to almost 100% now. There are very minor problems that she realizes, but she can compensate for them so that no one else knows.

If there is anything that I can do for you long distance, please let me know. I will certainly be keeping all of you in my prayers.

I am not worrying at all. I will wear jeans on the plane and take either another pair of jeans or a pair of capris. I will take short sleeved Ts, long sleeved Ts and fleece. Possibly there will be gloves and a hat and scarf in my carry-on too. But I think that ought to work just fine. That is what we usually take every December trip. Last year it was COLD and I was still fine.

I am thankful that I am not working tonight or tomorrow at all. I have been there and done that. Although there had been the possibility of needing to work at a party tomorrow night, but I was not needed then.

I may head out tomorrow to shop, but I am not sure yet. I contemplated going out to Target for an external hard drive but I am thinking I would prefer to stay in my bed.

For those heading to FL, I would still prefer those temps to my below freezing and rainy, snowy weather. ;):rotfl: You will be fine just take layers, jacket, a hat, gloves and scarf.

Hope you all had a fantastic day.
