Bill's mother is doing very poorly...I am wondering if the end is near.

She has been on and off sick for 3 weeks....she seems so unresponsive and her hands have begun to turn black.

Bill is the only child...so I feel bad for him.....

I am so hoping for a peaceful release..and soon.

I posted this on my PTR but I know not all of you read those things (I don't always read them either, if they are on a different thread!). But I wanted to ask opinions about our AP purchase next month so I am pasting my entire post here so you all don't have to go find it. Thanks to anyone who might have first-hand knowledge of this situation!

We need to buy two APs. I hate that this is overlapping this year and that we both need our tickets at the same time.

I am a frugal woman and have found that if I order tickets from Under Cover Tourist through Mouse Savers' newsletter link I always save money. So I have come up with a plan that I hope will save us close to $50 overall:

I will order us 2 6-day MYW base tickets which have a $22+ savings for each ticket. Then I will upgrade these to APs after their first use, thus getting the entire original WDW price in credit. I know I can do this; that is not the question.

What I am wondering is if I can do this later in the day of our first use of the tickets? Let's say we arrive at Epcot at 12:30 p.m. or so and use our first of 6 days to enter the park. After taking a break and going back to BCV can we come back in at 7:00 or so and stop at Guest Relations then and upgrade to APs and purchase our TIW card then?? Or, do we have to wait until the following day to do the upgrade?

I need to have a TIW card for our first night's dinner so I will plan to purchase at least one AP outright if this seems impossible to do. Then we can upgrade Bob's ticket the next morning.

Does this make sense to you all?

Elin - I'm under the impression that you can upgrade anytime during your trip, as long as you do it before the ticket expires. I wouldn't no why you would need to wait until the following day. You can upgrade at Guest Relations at the IG before you reenter the park. That's where I've done it before.

We have upgraded tickets at IG before, many times. Just not the same day we used the tickets! So... thus the problem. I suppose I can "eat" the full price tab at Chefs if necessary, but that certainly cuts into the savings I would realize if penny pinching on those APs!

Good luck! Our situation isn't anything where I can not have her there...just differences in opinions/personalities/styles. Somewhere I'll figure it out, I guess.

Elin -- I had always thought you could upgrade at any time during the trip, and I rememer being with someone who upgraded after using all the days at the end of a trip. However, when I asked IPO and CM concierge peeps at the Grand on our last trip, they told me I had to upgrade before I used the tickets. Don't know if that is bogus info or not, but I'm sure Chanon can tell us. I ran over to MK to guest services the night we got to the Grand to upgrade to an AP and get my TIW card. I think it took all of 3 minutes.

I hope you get good info and can work it easily in to your trip plans.

I'm anxiously awaiting news of Austin's arrival, and of Chanon's baby. Life has spiraled out of control with work, sports and homework, but I have started a trip report and will hopefully post soon.

Robyn -- sorry about Lu's collarbone. I hope you are feeling better. Good luck on the applications.
