Can't wait to see pictures of baby Austin!!:goodvibes

Robyn-good luck job hunting!!:wizard:

Kristine-Bill and the rest of your family is in my prayers:hug:

Tia-I am sure you will figure out what is needed for you and the troop

We are probably the only ones who watched Ellen when she guest judged So You Think You Can Dance....that was a bigger train wreck than anything Paula ever said on AI :rolleyes1 So I have my doubts on her judging ability...just because you like an art form doesn't mean you should be judging it.

Elin -- I had always thought you could upgrade at any time during the trip, and I rememer being with someone who upgraded after using all the days at the end of a trip. However, when I asked IPO and CM concierge peeps at the Grand on our last trip, they told me I had to upgrade before I used the tickets. Don't know if that is bogus info or not, but I'm sure Chanon can tell us. I ran over to MK to guest services the night we got to the Grand to upgrade to an AP and get my TIW card. I think it took all of 3 minutes.

I hope you get good info and can work it easily in to your trip plans.

Thanks, Marci. There are two ways to upgrade, that I am aware of. This is from AllEars:

If you purchased your MYW tickets from a non-Disney source such as AAA or a Florida ticket wholesaler, you can upgrade them and you will only be charged the price difference between the gate price of your old ticket and the gate price of the new one as long as the ticket has been used and you do the upgrade within the 14 day from first use window. Disney will absorb the difference between what you have paid for the ticket and the current gate price. If you upgrade a completely unused MYW ticket that was purchased at a discount, you may lose the discount when you upgrade.

Current Disney policy (and we all know that is subject to change at any time) is that a completely unused ticket is really nothing more than a kind of "gift card". It carries only the value you paid for it until it is used. If you try to do an upgrade with it before using it, you will only be credited with the amount that you actually paid for the ticket. On the other hand, if you use as least one admission from that ticket before you upgrade, your ticket will be credited at the current gate price of the ticket meaning you get to keep any discounts you got when you purchased the ticket.

From what I can tell, CMs are supposed to check/be able to check what the original price was. That is why I am wondering. I am very tempted to take the chance. That $50 would pay for a meal somewhere!

Elin when in doubt call Disney. ::yes::

Heidi - Actually if I call Disney I will get a different answer every time. The CMs are not well versed in all the rules and regulations. And some of them will make up an answer rather than admit they don't know! I may get varying responses on the DIS too, but at least on here people are speaking from experience.

Nope... we watched it too. Hence, my comment about the train wreck. She will have to take this more seriously than she did that appearance!

We love her on her talk show but she had us scratching our heads over her comments on SYTYCD. She is going to have to try not so hard to be funny and be more constructive. ( I will probably watch for a couple of episodes though AI has been going downhill for me)

Ah -- my ticket wasn't discounted and there had been no change in pricing. So you're trying to figure out if you have to wait until the "next" day to upgrade, or if you only have to have gone through the ticket machine to consider the ticket used. I hope you get to save the $50!

::yes:: you got it! :thumbsup2

Elin, did you see the Jazz in the Courtyard event at Ingleside next weekend?

I was hoping to read about Lindsay's baby. :wizard: I hope all went well and that they are enjoying their first hours with Austin.:goodvibes

Kristine I'm sorry to read that Bill's mother isn't doing well. I'll assume that Bill is a wreck at this point. I hope that there is a resolution soon that everyone can be at peace with

I'm planning on taking the family to the Aquatic Center tonight. Chris wants to take a spinnning class at 5:45 and I want to take a poolates class at 6:30. The kiddos can swim. I also need to dig out some warmer clothes as the highs for this weekend are in the low 60s. We need to pack for the Great Escape, the water park and for the evening cruise at the car show. Some indoor activities and some outdoor activities and not too warm.

I'm sorry to read about Bill's mom, Kristine. Sending prayers your way.

They made 5th grade chorus optional! Yay!!!! :woohoo: Think someone is stalking me here? :rotfl: They did change the way that band and orchestra are done. Instead of missing class time for large group practice, they need to miss recess once a week for each, and one other time during the week, they'll miss time at the end of the day. They still miss once a week for small group lessons. Miles is just thrilled not to be doing chorus, and he has also decided not to try a band instrument.

Laura had almost 3 hours of homework last night. She wants to know what is up with that much homework on the first day of school! :confused3 She may also be giving up synchronized swimming but hasn't fully committed to that yet. She is pretty sure that she won't have time for synchro (which is 10+ hours of practice time per week...more like 13+ hours if you add in drive time, changing time, etc), and she doesn't really love it any more. It is hard for her to imagine not doing it, though, so she needs a little more time to decide.

I went to preschool and cleaned for over 6 hours today. I need to go back for more tomorrow. I have a headache from dust and cleaning chemicals.

I was hoping to see news of Austin's arrival.

Kristine, I am sorry to hear about Bill's mother.

Sorry...I've never heard of Glee.

Beth - I am glad Miles won't have to be in chorus! :thumbsup2
Good luck to Laura with her swimming decision.

I was concerned about Band since they seem to be using it as the "catch all" for anybody who needed a class. DS said the percussion teacher has been working with him and 3 other kids from last year, then there is another boy who played for a semester last year so at least he isn't COMPLETELY new. I guess the asst. and the director are tackling the rest of the class. Makes me glad DS plays drums and not something else, because at least they have a dedicated instructor.

In other news, one of the girls DS knew from Band last year will be delivering a baby in the next few weeks. :scared1: She is 14. He said she isn't going to their school this year - another Band girl saw her at the football game on Tuesday. Not sure if she is going to another school or if she dropped out. :sad2: He said she told everybody she was pregnant last Spring but they didn't believe her. I told him there will be more and more like her from now on. They are getting to that age. And this is the land of teen pregnancy and REPEAT teen pregnancy. :headache:

Have I mentioned that I have very nearly the same love of the yard men that I have for the housekeeper? Princess will be howling very shortly.

Elin - I'm under the impression that you can upgrade anytime during your trip, as long as you do it before the ticket expires. I wouldn't no why you would need to wait until the following day. You can upgrade at Guest Relations at the IG before you reenter the park. That's where I've done it before.

Tammi is correct, you can leave the park & upgrade later when you return if you want :thumbsup2

ETA: I don't think that was the answer you were needing now that I have read further.
