Elin-that injury sounds absolutely painful and I am guessing even if there wasn't precedent already set that because it was a work related injury there is a major case for open toed shoes.

Castaway Cay changes and additions are coming to accommodate the new larger ships. I want to ride the Pelican Plunge slides.

The best part of all, it should be up and in place by my cruise next year.:thumbsup2

And in my book I think there should be a case for steel-toed pumps! :lmao:

Kristin was injured at work yesterday. She was not shot as her sister is terrified is going to happen. (I didn't need that picture put in my head last weekend, thank you very much!! ) When she opened the vault the door slid right across the top of her foot. The shoe was relatively undamaged and is wearable, which shocked us all when we saw the extent of the injury. The toenail on the big toe was bent completely back on itself and the flesh was torn from the sides of the nail bed. It was pretty gruesome but our urgent care place took her in right away and took care of her. I was off having my hair done while all this drama took place. Poor Bob had to handle his first family emergency in decades (I kid you not). They both came out of it pretty decently. She is on painkillers and a very potent antibiotic. And she won't be wearing any closed shoes for a while. The dress code at the bank states that closed-toe shoes must always be worn, but her boss is pregnant and can't get shoes on, so the precedent has been set for Kristin to return to work tomorrow in the classiest slides we can find. :rotfl:

I did something similar to that when getting off the Great Movie Ride at MGM. I pushed the car door on this ride when I went to get off a bit harder then I should have apparently. It flew the whole way open and then sprung back across my toes, ripping off the big toenail and some surrounding skin on my sandaled foot. Just one of my many Disney injuries.

Hope her foot heals quickly and without too much pain.

Elin...that sounds gruesome!! Hope she doesn't have too much residual pain!!

Can anybody tell me where the "off" button is?!?!?! I want off this roller coaster I've been on...

Lucy fell off the bed at my parent's house today, broke her collarbone. Spent 4 hours at the ER with her.

Last night I had my parent meeting for Mo's Daisy Troop. I was supposed to be just the Co-Leader. I am now the Leader because the woman who was Leader apparently has a huge criminal record. At least 6 open cases against her. And in regards to Girl Scouts she got me and 6 other moms for membership dues and troop dues to the tune of $35-$40 each. The police have been in contact with us to take our statements. INSANE!!!!

On the upside my sister took the kids back yesterday. The social worker approved it. So I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. It's all I can do at this point.

I am sorry but I haven't read back, so here's a blanket of :wizard: and 's for all of you.

Robyn lots of :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::hug::hug:

We just cut and move about 8 cord of wood. Needless to say we are all hot, tired and filthy (well we were before showers). Of course I'm the only one that needs to go to work in a couple of hours

I'm happy to report that I have managed in exactly one week to lose the 7 lbs that I gained on vacation :cool1::cool1: Now If I can keep the momentum going I might hit my goal by my birthday:goodvibes

Buff :rotfl::rotfl:Not yet, but I'm planning to hit the gym starting next week. Maybe I'll have a little muscle tone in a few months. Thanks for making me smile though

I stand by my statement. You two are buff!! Looking great for #40! You go girl.:worship::worship::worship::worship:

Bernadette congratulations on the car!

Theresa congratulations to Cassidy & her band, sorry about the job

Tammi glad Nicholas was able to play yesterday, hope his finger heals quickly. Sorry about the sleepover, doesn't sound like there was any thing you could have done that would have changed the outcome.

Becky glad the shower went well.

Vicki did you get the work accomplished that you were hoping to?

Robyn poor Lu, what an ordeal for a little one to go through! Lots of hugs for both of you :hug::hug::hug::hug:

Elin reading about your daughters injury made my stomach turn  I hope the pain meds are helping & that her toe heals soon!

Janet, I'm going to do a quick ditto! I'm off to go buy bras. I hate bra shopping. Hate it.

omg!!!! Oowwwiiieeee oowwwiiieeee!!!!

I want to rent one of those cabanas!!!

I think they are going to be really neat. If I had two days on Castaway Cay I would probably rent one. But I am a water bug and will probably spend my whole day in the water. ;)

Although my first order of business is to get to the observation tower. We tried two years ago to go to it. But either we misunderstood or the cast member sent us down the wrong trail. We had a nice long walk which we enjoyed but we never made it to the observation tower.

Last year we did not try as there was no way I would have made it to the tower yet alone up to the top.

Kristin's toe is not feeling too badly today. But she did take the painkillers again at my insistance. She can skip the next dose if she wishes, but I didn't want it to start hurting while we were out. We went out to do some shopping since she did not have appropriate footwear for this week. She did ask me to go get the car when we were done at the 4th store. (Finding flip flop/slides is difficult right now!) She has it propped up so the swelling will go down again. Thanks for all your good wishes. :goodvibes

Anybody wanna come over for some post party leftovers? I have chicken eggrolls, sweet and sour meatballs, white rice, chicken fried rice, stir fried vegetables, salad, turkey, some bar cookies, cream puffs, eclairs, and chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.

Here are some pics from the shower. I unfortunately did not get many pictures of her or with her guests. There are a few more pictures on facebook but not many.

Becky - it looks like you did an amazing job with the shower! I hope she was delighted. :yay: How many poeple finally showed up? And how many did you plan for? I hope you can eat the leftovers! ::yes::

We set up table space for 80. We had about 65 people, I think as I didn't count. All day yesterday my Mom kept saying we were not going to have enough food and she was going to go to the store and buy more stuff, even though we kept telling her we had plenty. Luckily she did not as we had more then enough.
