DDA Chapter 22

Janet, when the cat scratched DS's face we used Neosporin on it and it has healed with just a tiny, hairline scar. I didn't even know there was a scar until I was looking at him in full sunlight one day. Mederma is also really good for scars. One of my former charges had skin grafts on his fingers and we used the Mederma for that.
Glad you guys are on the mend!

sometimes cocoa butter helps too

I told DS I would see if I get a reply today. If I don't, then tomorrow I will go in person. The district rep told me to give the counselor until Friday, so this way I am sort of giving her until Friday. But not exactly. ;)
DS got his "creed" that he has to memorize. I see they have amended it from the creed the high school ROTC classes use. The wording of the middle school creed is just about leadership, personal responsibility, patriotism, that sort of thing. Nothing controversial. If he has to finish out the week in ROTC I can't imagine it would hurt anything.
He did say they had to fill out some sort of medical form yesterday. I kind of think medical forms are better left to the PARENTS, but whatever. Hopefully we can get a new schedule implemented by Monday.

Sounds like you have a fun weekend coming up! Kudos to your dad! :thumbsup2
Elizabeth - what does DS think about being in ROTC?

Good Morning DDA!

Jim was awakened by his alarm clock way late....so after yelling at me  he called in "sick" to work because he didn't want to face the consequences. :upsidedow I told him that I had way too much to do today for him to be up in my space while he was sick...so he had to find something outside of the house to do. So far he's cleaned out the litter box...gotten laundry detergent and has left for who knows what...but at least he isn't here. :rotfl2:

Glynis-sounds like a wonderful way to spend your weekend!!

Steffy-:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Tammi-I am glad your momma is coming. :thumbsup2

Elizabeth-I am sure it will all work out in the end with DS's schedule...hopefully before you develop an ulcer.

Elizabeth - on your checkout day of concierge, can you still get into the lounge in the afternoon?

Elizabeth - on your checkout day of concierge, can you still get into the lounge in the afternoon?

Yes. You have to be out of the room at 11 AM, but you can use the lounge for the rest of the day. Our ME pick-up wasn't until 2:30, so after breakfast and beaded jewelry we sat in the lounge.

We typically go to a park the morning of departure day, but DH refused because he didn't want to get sweaty.

Great. Thanks. Do you remember what hours food is available in the lounge?

I'm trying to plan out parks and restaurants to see which is better for us, TiW or DDP. The problem I'm going to have is that if I don't have the DDP, I'm still going to want to eat as if I do, meaning getting a yummy dessert at every meal.

Well, Jonathan has officially decided to go with us for the last 5 days to WDW in November. I am happy and crazed at the same time. Booking airfare....and anxiously awaiting concierge's response to changing ADRS. I hope I get an answer soon!!

Oh Elin, and other October travelers! The dessert party has been extended thru 10/31.

That's great, Kristine. I hope you get everything switched without too much hassle. Where are you staying? AKLV?

crap...doesn't help me~~

The first 6 nights at AKLV....second 5 night at BWV

I am feeling stress....where oh where is IPO???

Breakfast is about 7-10:30 AM, snacks are about 11-4 PM, appetizers 5-7 PM, dessert until 10 PM. There is NOT a large selection in the lounge. Less than last year. And if you aren't fast you get nothing because people who have never seen food before and may never see food again like to snatch up as much as they can carry. ;) That applies mostly to the appetizers.

We did fine having breakfast in the lounge, and cookies, chips, and lemonade in the afternoon.

We only made it back in time for dessert ONE night. There was a teeny chocolate mousse thing and a tart thing (coconut, maybe?). Nothing elaborate. Of course I can eat my weight in those white chocolate chip macadamia cookies, so I didn't care about the selection. Plus we had a huge birthday cake, a cookie bouquet and a large stash of chocolates in the room so we didn't need much dessert from the lounge.

Glynis - You were absolutely right. I shouldn't have e-mailed the counselor because I haven't heard a peep from her. Guess I will pay her a visit tomorrow.

The yard men are here. That pretty much guarantees Princess will be wailing in about 2.5 seconds.

Hmmm, I wonder since they extended the dessert party how that works for 10/31? There will be MNSSHP that night...we are doing the party on 10/29 so if they have the dessert party on Halloween that would be a fun thing to do....:confused3

ETA:
I just checked my schedule. We are dining at Cali Grill on 10/31 so I think we will skip the dessert party. Maybe if they have it for next year we will do it in the summer.

Oh Elin, and other October travelers! The dessert party has been extended thru 10/31.

Thank you for texting me this info. :goodvibes I called as soon as I walked in our door and was informed that the entire week we are at WDW in October is completely sold out. Being the Doubting Thomas that I am, I called back. Got the very same answer. And both CMs worked very hard to try to find me something on the two days that we could go.

The power of the DIS and the other message boards out "there" is amazing to me. You know Mr. and Mrs. Joe Blow don't have a clue about that darned thing!

Kristine - Glad Jonathan is getting to go! I hope the stress of the changes eases soon.

Tammi - Maybe this is a sign that it will be easier to get them to come with you more often. (Well, when you want them to anyway. ;) )

Elizabeth - Hope you get a response ASAP.

Elin - It's crazy how much influence the DIS and other similar forums have. Too bad when it's used for evil, though, and gets little perks cancelled. ;) Hope you can pick up a cancellation sometime!

Well, since my meeting starts in about 35 minutes, I guess I had better go change and get moving. At least it's only down the street. We were going to just walk (just under 2 miles), but the time got away from me both at the library and just now. Guess I shouldn't have sat down at the computer. :rolleyes1

Have a good night everyone!

Thanks again. I'm not planning on getting much use out of it. Mainly coffee for me and breakfast for the kids. On our arrival day we will go see what they have late morning before heading to MK. The biggest benefit to me is being able to do the safari, not the lounge itself.

I'm sorry, Elin. I texted you as soon as I found out. I guess I better read the front page of the Dis first thing, instead of 3:30 in the afternoon.

What is WITH those cicadas?????? Are they as bad elsewhere as they are here? The are so NOISY!
