Disneyland's Haunted Mansion to have overnight guests
By Leah Zanolla
Aug 3, 2009

Last year, guests of Walt Disney World were allowed to spend a night in the famous Cinderella Castle during the "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion. On August 9th, Disneyland will open the after-hours doors of another classic attraction, allowing four lucky guests to spend the night in the Haunted Mansion. The opportunity is being offered to celebrate the attraction's 40th birthday in partnership with KLOS 95.5, a local classic rock radio station. The attraction will be open as usual on August 9th, but upon closing, beds will be set up in the stretching room in preparation for the evening's guests. Anyone wondering just how frightening this experience will be can watch a live internet feed from midnight to 6:00 a.m. the night of the event.

According to those behind the scenes, it's possible this overnight stay won't be an uneventful evening. Disneyland spokesperson Michele Himmelberg states, "The Haunted Mansion is 40 years old and, like any building its age, it may be full of creaks and other eerie noises throughout the night. The guests may also be visited by the 'occupants' of the Haunted Mansion."

I totally want to go back to Disneyland. But even more I would love to sleep in the Haunted Mansion, how awesome would that be. Did it say anything about signing up for it? I do not see anything about it on the radio station website. So I wonder if it is an on air contest.

I really think the ABD Behind the Magic tour would be really awesome.

Just stopping by to say hi  and that it was great to meet Becky, Stephanie, Elin and Terry at Magic Meets! We had a lot of fun and of course ours was the best table there!

Hey Jen! It was no doubt the best table in the house! It was so much fun hanging out with you and Mary.

Elin, Terry and Becky are seriously looking into the MM cruise. There is no way I could do another cruise along with the transatlantic, all of my DGD cheerleading venues, spring break and then my family trip. But I can encourage, enable and excite! I love to go Woo Hoo!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

That would be so awesome!!!! I really want to do DL in 2011. I want to visit San Diego at least for one day. I also want to spend a day or two in Las Vegas.

I think this could be the best plan!!!!!! :woohoo:

Becky,,,,,I totally agree. Especially after hearing Beci and Deb talk about the different tours. The Behind the Magic Tour is just what I would love to do. The personal attention is what I want. Of course the lanyard and a pin for every day would be just the icing on the cake with the cherry on the top :thumbsup2

Good Morning.

It was a very short night for me. The restaurant was unexpectedly busy last night. We only had 2 cooks, one dishwasher, 4 waitstaff and no bus staff and we managed to serve 168 people. Mind you Friday night we did 120 and Saturday only 140. I'm thankful that it was busy, but I didn't punch out until 10:10 which didn't allow a lot of sleep. Oh well, I'll snea in a nap later and pray that we get some more nights like that :cool1:

Welcome home Ann Marie, glad you had a good time.

John wants to go to California as they are opening a Walt Disney museum, but it will have to be after 2011 because I want to be in WDW for our 25th anniversary.

Deb sorry you night was short, but at least you got paid.

My night was short because John kept snoring no matter which way he was laying. :sad2:

I had heard that Tony's gets a lot of bad reviews, so I asked on the restaurants board if they had to choose between Tony's and Sci Fi where would you eat. Out of about 20-25 people all said Sci Fi but 2, so I nixed Tony's and will make an ADR for Sci Fi in 3 days.
