Summer was certainly a blur...it seems like my life is on fast-forward!

Hope everyone has a good first day of school tomorrow!!! I can't believe tomorrow is the kids' 5th week of school. It is really flying by.

I agree that time is flying. I used to think that as you got older time seemed to slip away more quickly. But I have changed my thoughts on this. I think that as we all pack more and more into our lives time rushes by us. Not a bad thing, necessarily... but one I wish I had more control over.

Hope everyone who has new things going on today enjoys them to the fullest.

Happy 1st day of school to everyone heading back today!

Katie is staying home, her head is still hurting & now she is achy with a slight cough..now I am obesessing that she caught something in the ER.

Good morning.

We have until tomorrow. It hit me today, though, that tomorrow I will take the very last first day walk up to the elementary school with one of my kids after 14 years. Wow! In some ways that first walk seems like it was yesterday, but when I think of all that has happened since then, it seems like it was a different lifetime.

Lu has her ortho appointment for her collarbone. After that probably a nap as I didn't fall asleep until well after 2am. Good thing there are no daycare kids here, lol!

Piano lessons start back up for my girls today...Abi will be working on jazz chords so she can try out for jazz band and Cassidy will be starting to get audition pieces together for college.

Anne Marie-I am sorry Katie feels icky. I hope she didn't pick anything "extra" up at the ER. I am pretty sure the huge amount of blue masks was the reason I got in at after hours care quickly and in a different part of the hallway...so I am not worried about that, just pnuemonia.

Theresa - Good luck to the girls on their first day back to piano! I have a lot of students who will be doing the same thing today too! I will be curious to see what Cassidy and her teacher choose for audition pieces.

Our year of musical mayhem is off to the start I expected.
The poor asst. band director never knows anything, because the director keeps everything a secret. I paid the rental fee for DS's drum and signed the rental agreement, but we still have no drum. There is a football game tonight. I had it on my calendar that they were supposed to play at this game, but nobody has said a word about it. So maybe they aren't playing? The big problem with getting the kids ready for ANY performance is that they have them scheduled all wrong. Beginners, advanced, and kids with nowhere else to go are ALL lumped together in the same period. Which makes it impossible to learn anything. There are all sorts of things that may or may not happen. Nobody knows. So the poor assistant just kind of sits there and shrugs.

The night of Open House the director wasn't feeling well, so he left. Without telling the asst. much of anything. Par for the course. The asst. did say he thinks the director is going to retire soon. But probably not before DS finishes 8th grade.

She is doing really well! We are still giving her motrin occasionally. She will favor that arm here and there but otherwise it's business as usual.

Great shots!!! One other notable difference between Alyssa & Mo~ While Mo is insistent she chooses her own wardrobe she is nowhere near as fashionable as Alyssa is!!

Lu's appt went well. The doctor said that she is young enough that she will heal with the bump on the collarbone but as she grows that bump will smooth out. She is to go back in 3 weeks. It's sad that the doctor recognized us as soon as we went in. Hopefully, her next visit is the last!!!!
