DDA Chapter 22

If we're going to meet before dinner I'm going to pass on Yachtsman,
the menu doesn't really appeal to us and the prices are a bit extreme, that being said, if this is the get together then count us in and we'll find something that will do on the menu.

I am almost certain we are all meeting at Crew's Cup (next to Yachtsman) before dinner because Elin needs to get back to meet her friends when they arrive at the resort. We just need to nail down times. Certainly the lounge should be open by 5 PM.

Are you going to MK on Sunday? Just in case it is warm enough for Splash...:rolleyes1

No, Sunday is the day we travel home, this will be a really short trip. But since we went in May and August, with trips planned for October, November, and December a short one will do just fine. :rotfl:

DS will be disappointed! But I am glad we will get to see you guys! :)
Our trip will be relatively short too, so I understand having to abbreviate what you do and see.

He is going to SUNY (State University of New York) - ESF (Environmental Science and Forestry). It is right next to Syracuse University, and they use SU's residences, dining halls, bookstore, etc. He is in Bioprocess Engineering which is very similar to Chemical Engineering but working on replacing petroleum with biomass. His goal for the moment is master/PhD and then into the research area. Of course, things could drastically change in the next four years. Afterall, I was positive that I was going to be a pediatrician when I started college.

That explains it. I was remembering a SUNY, but also remembering Syracuse. A former friend went to Syracuse so I spent some time there several times a year for a few years. That's nice that they have the benefit of sharing with another college since I'm guessing that SUNY isn't very big? (Could be wrong though!) I like the Syracuse campus and that area. Though, I could do without some of those hills in the middle of winter! I had never seen a town that had handrails on the sidewalks before. Once I saw those sidewalks coated in ice, I got it!

You can always fill in for me, just bring along one of the cheap ponchos, :rotfl:

I will have to think on that. We have plenty of cheap ponchos because they are always in the room when it is pouring rain. I was so worried about getting drenched the first time I am sure I missed a lot of the theming! But if the poncho misses some spots I don't know if I want to be soggy in December.

Walking around with a soggy butt is no fun lol

Theresa - Staying in a crappy marriage will teach your girls to be one of two things: Either they will be VERY independent and defensive (like me) or wishy-washy doormats who always choose the path of least resistance (my sister). Jury is still out on Diva. I am not saying these are GOOD ways to turn out, I am saying that's how it goes.

Heaven forbid Theresa. If this isn't enough to convince you, what would? :lmao: I mean, your girls could turn out like Elizabeth! :rotfl:

You know I love you Elizabeth!

The first, last, and only time I rode Splash was at about 9 AM. My butt was wet until after 2 PM! :scared1:

Hey! I told her it wasn't a GOOD thing! :rotfl2:

It's not failure or a mistake on your part unless you let it become one. People change. Circumstances change. You need to do what is best for you and the girls. No matter what your decision ends up being, I think you are strong, and definitely not a failure.

I wanted to ditto this because it is so well said. Staying in a bad situation could also be considered a failure. A divorce is not necessarily a failure if it is time.

Theresa, when you think about other women you know who have been through a divorce, do you think that they are failures? Just curious.

That is a great way to think about it from a different angle. I will have to remember that when I hear something similar from someone in the future.

I can't believe that I only have 136 posts with this ID. I got that many in a couple of days back in our early days. :lmao:

Vicki! :rotfl: To think, I used to "intimidate" you! :rotfl:

Theresa, lots of :grouphug: for you!

Hey Vicki - How does Disney transport runners to the races? Is there a race bus that goes around to each resort at a scheduled time?

I'm not sure about the 5K race. We took a taxi to the start line. I know there is a bus for the half marathon and marathon.

Thanks, Vicki. Do you remember how early you left for it?
