DDA chapter 21

Thanks, Kristine! I went to Pack Meeting tonight, and was going to come home and change my skin, but when I turned the machine back on, now the ads are gone. Guess there were lots of complaints. Or are they still there, and I just can't see them?

I am back from opening night of The Music Man....with a headache. David (one of the old co-workers) told me that if he was getting in my way to give me the hand...I gave him the hand and he kept going. :headache:Tomorrow I may back hand him:rolleyes1. A couple of snafus happened...some not my fault but one is seriously weird....who the heck puts the power to some of the speakers on the floor?? I accidently turned off the power to the balcony with my toes.:rotfl2:
The other thing that I learned this week is my replacement is leaving:rolleyes1Now granted it is because her husband got transferred but it makes me laugh.

The rest of the day has been crappy....we had set up a payment plan last week so our internet and phones wouldn't be turned off. Well what they didn't tell us is that we'd have to go through the satellite provider and set up a different plan....so it turned off today and we won't get it back until the end of next week probably.

My questions/pleas to God today were "What more do I have to do" and "How much more do I have to take":guilty:

And to top it all off....Jim just tried kissing me:scared: and then said he wanted to throw me a birthday party....with what money? and why should I even agree to it when I know he won't follow through.

Seriously, how much more?

Yes the correct people got the complaints and the adds have been moved, you may now go back to your original skin.

For anyone who does laundry on their trip...we took those new Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets to Branson with us and they worked really well. It was much more conventient, even driving, to just have a few sheets along instead of a bottle of detergent. You throw the sheet in the washer with the clothes and then just transfer it straight to the dryer. The cost isn't too bad when you compare load for load.

I was wondering about those. I assume the dryer sheet portion is heat activated, but DDs and I were discussing whether or not you could use hot water if necessary.

Good morning, DDA!

Amy, I was REALLY sad when Princess Diana died. More because of her boys than anything else. Michael Jackson's kids are rarely in the media. DS didn't even know MJ had kids.

Theresa, I am sorry things are still so difficult!

I am glad it is Friday! The STYE has been downgraded to Stye, but it is still pretty gross. Princess's friend has a brother who is 5. He walked up to me yesterday and said "What is that red thing on your eye?" He was really fascinated. :rotfl:

Theresa - Lots of :grouphug: coming your way!

I would think you could. We used warm and it was pretty warm. The sheet looked white coming out of the washer, but I noticed a difference in feel when we took them out of the dryer. Then again, we don't typically use dryer sheets so that was a bonus for us.

Glad it's doing better! I hope the improvements continue.

Good morning, DDA!

I call it a successful cousin sleepover when no one ends up sleeping on top of me in my recliner! All kids stayed on the floor the whole night. Maybe someday that means I'll be able to actually sleep in my own bed when they have a sleepover. ;)

Terra gets to go try her hand (body?) at gymnastics today. She's got a Girl Scout Lark (one day/few hour event or activitiy) in gymnastics today and it really excited. After that we might head out to Six Flags, but then again were supposed to meet up with Kristi and her friend if we do which would equal 3 days in a row of the family I can only handle for a brief time so maybe we won't.

Quick question...

Does anyone ever get in a rut where they just can't stand to plan or cook meals? Any tricks for getting out of it? How about for getting through it without eating out all of the time? I just can't break out of this aversion to cooking. Baking, I'm good - plenty of cakes and cookies made lately, but seems that just doesn't cut it for dinner time. ;)

I had always followed Princess Di, even staying up for her wedding. And I'm always sad when someone passes away at a younger age, but I have mixed feelings about MJ. I loved his music in the 80s and there is no question about the mark he leaves on the music world and society. However, I have a hard time getting past the accusations of the last 10 years with young boys, and I think a lot of other people are struggling with it as well. Even though he wasn't convicted, the evidence seems compelling to me. Just my two cents. Thriller is my fav album of his.

I hope the stye gets downgraded even further soon!

Sounds successful. There were four sleeping boys when I left my house this morning. They were fairly quiet last night so I have no complaints.

For those on vacation now, I hope they have great weather and good times with their families. Life is just as busy as usual around here.

Have a good weekend everyone!

I just try my best to trudge through it and factor in the money I save by cooking at home. I also try to remind myself that we all eat much healthier at home. Hang in there!

Theresa, 10,000 more  for you. I can't believe he tried to kiss you. Ewwww!

Elizabeth, I hope the former STYE progresses quickly to a stye. :thumbsup2

I just posted this on Christy's FB comments, so if you're friends with her, forgive the redundancy.

I'm a teacher who was wrongly accused of sexual assault by a wacko female student (who ironically failed my creative writing class, but came up with one heck of a "creative" story that could have potentially ruined my career had she not recanted weeks later with, "I may have dreamed the whole thing."). Meanwhile, I'm married to a prosecutor who puts child molestors in jail. The stories he tells of the abuse these children endure are heartbreaking.

I have always been a huge MJ fan, and though I'm well aware of the wacko-Jacko element to his life, I truly believe he always had the best of intentions and people took advantage of him. The man needed a support system and lots and lots of therapy. The media frenzy is already out of control...Corey Feldman hadn't spoken to him in 7 years, but he's one of the first interviewed on The Today Show?!! May MJ rest in peace!

I should add (and Christy just mentioned this on FB, too) that we're all going to have different opinions based on our own experiences, etc. I just ran into my accuser at Walmart a couple weeks ago, and while we exchanged nothing but eye contact, I still harbor some deep resentment toward that girl. I know she never received the help she needed. Very sad indeed.

I think he was an incredibly talented man...I think he made a huge impact on the industry as a whole...I do also beleive there is probably some element of truth to the allegations against him...however, I have moved on from that a long time ago. It seems at least around here, the focus has been on his career...and not all the insanity that seemed to follow him.

To answer your question: YES!!! There are times when I just can't stand it!!! At those times, I first put the question to my kids, what do you want me to make for dinner? Then I pull out cookbooks that I rarely use and choose 1 or 2 recipes that I've never tried before. If all else fails, I run to the convenience store for a large jolt of diet Coke, and then wander the grocery store aisles to see if something looks good to me. If none of that works, the kids get eggs for dinner until someone comes up with a good plan!

I was never a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I do recognize that he was extremely talented! I also think that he was used up by the industry, and as he aged, the need for the spotlight was what instigated his many different looks and how he came about them. I don't even want to comment on the allegations! I just don't know enough about the whole situation. I do feel sad for his family, but I kind of resent the attention that his death is getting.

I feel badly for all the other people who died yesterday. Not just Farrah Fawcett, but all the "nobodies" who died. Their lives were just as important to their families as Michael Jackson's but now and forever he will overshadow anything else that happens on June 25.

I hope he's at peace. That's about all I have to say!

Amy - Wow, is all I can say!!! I look back on my career as a teacher and am amazed that I came through it unscathed! I'm a very "hands on" person, and can't count the number of times I hugged students, or put a hand on a shoulder, etc. I was also the teacher the kids would come to for a Tylenol. That could have gotten me fired for dispensing drugs to kids. Yikes!

Theresa - I'm so sorry that things are still icky for you! I wish that there was something that I could do for you! I pray for you night and morning, and I know I'm not the only one. I just wish that I could do more.
