DDA chapter 21

Good afternoon, DDA! I am once again without a reliably available computer. Stupid thing! I think that I am going to break down and go ahead and buy the computer Terra and I plan to get once we move. Then I can set it up for us now, plus my mom can benefit for now from having an available computer. I think that in the last week, the computer has been up and running for less than 24 hours - and not consecutive ones. It's probably the hard drive, but Dad just isn't ready to admit it's demise.

So, any suggestions on a not too expensive desktop. I want it to store pictures (unfortunately lots of space for that, though I also have an external drive), run Photoshop, connect to the Internet, and do basic Word type processes. Nothing too demanding, outside of the storage and Photoshop usage. I'd love any suggestions or advice of what to avoid. Thanks!

We are getting ready to head to Kristi's for the evening as she's got to go to work. Plus, I need to do laundry and that's not working here either. Ai yi yi. Guess I'd better go get the clothes loaded up and see if my sneakers have dried out yet. They were on the porch and got soaked in the flash storm yesterday afternoon. Catch you all a little later.

Hi all saw this on the budget board and thought you all might benifit.

people are using this even with out a Disney Visa

How early can you order a cd? We won't be there for 14 + months. I'd do it now if I can wait that long to order it.

Not sure I think I ordered last time about 9 months out. Check their website or the thread Photopass discount on the budget board.

I'm not sure, but the price of the CD is going to $149.99 on the 16th of this month.

Seriously? Makes me want to order now just in case and worry about a share for Feb or whenever later. Hmmmm....

I looked all over the PhotoPass site and couldn't find anything that said how far in advance you may order. You have to claim the pics within 30 days and if you don't want the CD you must request a refund within 2 weeks, but those time frames are for AFTER your trip. I guess if they give me trouble I will throw a fit. ;)

My car is all finished. They claim the airbag recall did not include my car, and they couldn't find any reason why the airbag turns off when someone sits in the front passenger seat. :headache: They did give me 2 new remotes because the original ones can be disabled if they are stored too close to a cell phone.

Not sure what else they did. I have a feeling "15K scheduled maintenance" is a fancy term for "$200 oil change". :sad2:

Thanks for posting this!!!!!

I just ordered mine for August. Hopefully there is no problem ordering it this early.

Yep, I ordered my Book and CD today, I had done the preorder for the two, I went back and checked my emails and it didn't say anything about an expiration date.

:sad2:

So, on the trip we ate off site two nights, and I'm seriously considering doing the same in August with the exception of Cape May, I'm becoming less and less enchanted with on site dining, anyone else feeling that way?

I don't feel that way, but I am reading a LOT of threads where people do. I still flatly refuse to rent a car, so onsite is the only option for us. I did plan 4 nights of CS instead of TS every night, and we are only doing 3 TS breakfasts (plus the Sunrise Safari breakfast at AK). Overall we have scaled back a little bit, and we are returning to our favorites.

:scared1: Chris and I just talked about it. Since we are only doing one week at WDW next year we won't get the cd, instead he said I can get a new camera for myself which I can use for WDW, Cruise, US and Seaworld :cool1: That sounds like a good deal to me.

Hunter had his last game. They lost. Hunter played very well, everyone said he was on a mission to get a goal. Unfortunately he didn't get the opportunity, but man he tried to make it happen. Hopefully some of our nights will free up now.

Don't forget, you can still have the Photopass people use your camera also.

I think part of my problem is my diabetes, I have so many restricitons that the menus are way too limited. We'll be driving so transportation is not an issue, and I really want to go to Joe's Crab Shack, it's just outside of Disney.

I found this on Stitchkingdom.com...

PhotoCD - There are a couple of big ways to save on the PhotoCD. First is by pre-purchasing PhotoCD up to 60 days before your vacation. The codes are set to expire after 60 days after purchase, so please allow yourself ample time after adding the photos to order the PhotoCD (i.e., it's best to order no sooner than 30 days prior to your vacation's start). Note that although the coupon code will expire after 60 days of purchase, some guests have reported success by getting it re-activated by Disney's PhotoPass support

Elin - did you get any sleep? All I did was listen to thunder and rain pelting against my windows. Plus I had both kids in bed with me, who I don't think heard a thing. If they are sleeping when the storms start they are fine, but if it's storming when they are TRYING to get to sleep, fuggeddaboudit.

I got almost no sleep at all. If tonight continues as it appears it will, I may go absolutely CRAZY with two nights of no sleep! :sad2::eek:

I know which makes it even better :goodvibes I want something with a decent zoom and image stabilization. The ability to do video would be a plus too.

You must get sleep. Functioning on too little sleep is not good for anyone.
