Beth - I hope you can come up with a vacation plan! :wizard:
DS tested for Gifted back in 4th grade, but he didn't get in. That was before we had him on meds for the ADD. His friends who were in it all said it was just project after project, so I am glad he didn't get in!! In middle school it counts as an elective, so he wouldn't have had room for it in his schedule.
They tested Nicholas for our school's FOCUS program last year. I'm not sure what it stands for but it is essentially the 'gifted'. They said he was on the edge and would retest him this year. It hasn't happened, and I haven't pushed it, because that teacher is very project happy too, but their term for the projects are Independent Study. I call it Dependent on Mom's help.

Anne Marie - I'm so sorry. I'm with you on the slathering, but I think I would have been fooled by that much fog too even knowing UV rays go through clouds. I hope the kids are feeling better soon. Bathe them in aloe.

Deb - I hope you can get into the doctor this week with Hunter. Sounds like a good hypothesis at least considering your findings.

Debbie - Hope the Sea World Tour today is fun and that you're feeling better.

Vicki - Good to see you. Good luck figuring out what to do about setting up an apartment, etc.

Elizabeth - I'm glad DS got his project done and in a better way this time, I'm sure. Have a nice day off.

Elin - I take it she's not quite that cute when the clock reads 4am?

Bernadette - Beautiful pictures!

Anne Marie - Clinique makes a good "after sun" lotion that I have used on DS when he gets sunburned. I managed to sunburn my scalp last week, and now it is peeling. :scared1: Lovely.

My scalp used to get burnt all of the time. The peeling part of that is just terrible. Maybe that's why I rarely go without a hat anymore. Too many scalp peeling nightmares. ;)

Exactly! So many of the kids projects are exactly that anymore. Rachel has so many, especially in elementary school, that would have been impossible without major parent help. I'm all for projects, but not continuously and with more ability for the kids to actually do them.

Good morning, DDA!!

It is a good morning here! Terra came running in a little bit ago and yelled, "Look, Mom! I'm running. And watch this...I can jump. If I can run and jump, I can do ballet!" Woohoo the toes are better!!

I was totally expecting to be at the doctor's office this morning with some xrays and who knows what else.

Kristi has a very promising interview today so fingers crossed for her! It would only be part time, but it provides her required supervision and the timing would also allow her to join a private practice and build up her own clientle. Things are really tight for them right now so I'm really hoping it all goes well today.

Phil has a doctor appointment today as well. He's got several returned symptoms right now and they've stuck around a lot longer than usual this time as well. I'm hoping that if they run some bloodwork while he's got symptoms maybe it will shed some new light on things.

I guess I'd better get this baby down for her nap. She's sounding about ready. After that, I think it's time for me to get some quality time on the computer pounding out a few things that I've been needing to get to. Catch you all in a little bit.

Tia - I am glad Terra's toes are better!

I know DS's project is FAR better than it was, but not sure what kind of grade he will pull in. Better than it would have been, no matter what!

I dropped him off, did 45 minutes of exercise, and now I should be headed for the shower. It is so easy to exercise on my off days. I am REALLY hoping that when I go back to work I will find the willpower to drag myself out of bed at least 2 or 3 mornings a week to get on the Wii Fit. I know - no diet or exercise on the Dark Side. I had ice cream last night. Luckily it wasn't that good, so I think I will be able to stay out of it. The thing is, I have lost 8 pounds and still can not tell ANY difference. Which pushes me to wonder how much it will take before I can see it! It is irritating me and motivating me at the same time! I do think my watch is a little bit looser, so maybe I have lost 8 pounds from my forearms and wrists.

thanks for the dittoable!!

If anyone is looking for a good read, I just finished J.D. Robb's "Strangers in Death" and enjoyed it very much. Somewhere in there I think I have missed one or two of the Eve Dallas series so I need to go back and fill in the gaps. There were a couple of characters I didn't recognize.

I just finished that one a couple of weeks ago. I remember the first Eve Dallas book I picked up was very hard to get in to, but once I stuck with it, I found myself really enjoying the character.

Good morning....I am so mad at myself. When we went to the beach on sunday it was so foggy you couldn't see more than 50 feet ahead of you, it was cloudy with a chance of rain & cold. So I did not slather up my kids as I usually do with sunscreen..I am so anal about sunscreen that I normally follow them around the beach reapplying while they are playing, after they eat & after they get out of the water...well for some reason I assumed that since it was so overcast & cold that they did not need it...WRONG!!! All 3 of my babies are burnt to a crisp & hurtin'...& I feel awful. :headache::headache::headache: They have never had a sunburn before let alone ones this bad.

I hope Motrin and a good after sun lotion help.

Tia - I am glad Terra's toes are better!

Good for you -- keep up the good work. Eight pounds is terrific! And I'm sure it's not just the arm area... :rotfl:

Deb -- I hope you get the answers you seek for Hunter. It sounds like you may have found the diagnosis yourself. If that is it, it's fairly easy to treat and more common than most people realize.

I've been keeping up and sending you all good thoughts and congrats in my head... just not getting it typed out. I have much better range of motion in my shoulder now, but because of the stretching/pulling in PT it still hurts... a lot... The great news is they think I'll get all my range back, so I keep doing my exercises and trying to use that arm/shoulder as much as I can.

My boys are still incredibly busy. I'm averaging 5 hours of sleep at night, even most weekends, and we have multiple events in multiple cities several times a week. Rec soccer and Rec baseball should slow down in the next couple of weeks, and school is out for Jake this Thursday, and for Andrew this Friday. Andrew is really struggling with reviewing for finals which isn't a surprise with his memory problems. We'll all be glad when they're over.

Have a great day everyone. :)

I'm sorry. I'm really not good about applying sunscreen so summer doesn't really start until we have sunburns:blush: That must mean that summer has hit NY, maybe we'll see it here someday. We woke up to a heavy frost this morning. I had to scrap my windshield :headache:

You can do it Elizabeth. It becomes easier when you've done it for awhile:wizard::thumbsup2

You really need your schedule to settle down. Hopefully summer will bring some down time for you and your family. I hope that your shoulder continues to progress

Aw she looks so sweet :rotfl:

Looks can be deceiving! Yesterday she dragged a brand new 5-pound bag of sugar out of the pantry and through the kitchen into the living room, behind the couch! Luckily it was in a Ziplock bag and she barely got into it before we caught her. She was mad that we were outside without her.

She has not always behaved this way. I think she has her own DoggyDementia as well as being on lots of heavy drugs. She is acting like my Mom did in the last few years of her life. :sad2:

We got our first ever Disney Files Magazine today.
Can you tell I am a newbie? excited about a magazine. :rotfl:

Deb - I am still thinking of you and Hunter. I hope you get answers this week.

Anne Marie - OUCH! for the kids. Poor Mom... I burn so easily thta I always have sunscreen on. I still end up with a burn sometimes. :(

Marci - I am glad your PT is helping. I hope it continues to increase your range! :)

Has anyone heard from Lindsay lately? I have been thinking of her a lot! :goodvibes

And with this post...

Deb,
Hope you can get some answers at the dr's for Hunter.:wizard::wizard::wizard:

Good to see you, Marci! I'm glad the PT seems to be helping. I hope you get some down time soon! Good luck to the boys on finals, etc.
