DDA chapter 21

Good morning, DDA!

Gotta head to the showers in a few minutes so I'll be ready to take Terra to her party soon, but needed some quick prayers.

Terra hurt two toes jumping into the pool yesterday. I can't quite figure out what happened, but I think they just hit the bottom of the pool wrong. I figured they would be better this morning, but she still can't bear any weight on them and I can't put her sneakers on without pain. We've gone the Motrin and ice route, but the doctor wants us at Urgent Care if she still can't put weight on them in and hour or so. So, if by party time she still can't walk at all, I guess we're going straight from there to Urgent Care. I really don't want to have to do that since I can't see any issue (no bruising, swelling, redness, etc) and I don't think there's much they can do for toes, but at the same time I hate that she's crying about not being able to walk. "I want to walk again, Mommy." :sad1:

Hopefully, this will do the trick

:wizard::hug: to Terra. I hope her toes feel better soon. :grouphug::wizard: It is better to have it checked out then not.

Thanks for the well-wishes all. I ended up staying at the party with her to carry her around as needed. It was a tea party at a local tea house and just way too cute. They took the girls upstairs to pick out jewelry, purses, hats and gloves. The girl also put some makeup on those who wanted it. Then they went back down to the tea room for sandwiches, tea, dessert, etc. After that, it was back upstairs to open presents.

After the party, I had her try walking again and she was able to stand on her foot this time. She could walk some too, but she said that it still hurt some. With those improvements the nurse said that we didn't need to go in today. If there is still pain on Tuesday, we'll see her regular doctor just to make sure there isn't a hairline fracture or something. We'll also go in if it gets worse again.

Tammi I do hope you enjoyed the airshow today!

Tia I hope Terras toes are better :wizard:

Deb good luck with finding decently priced parking during your cruise!

Well it was pretty nice out, but now it is raining. Kristine did you bring this back with you lol Oh well at least it is warm out.

Elizabeth enjoy your time off!

This weather is absoltely gorgeous here today...i stayed by the pool for a couple of hours and now im watching the phillies vs yankees!

Tia-glad Terra's toes are better hope they continue to heal.

I so love dealing with a moody teen girl:headache::rolleyes1 She is being such a snot. Arguing with me just to argue I think, complaining about nothing and the eye rolling,:snooty: I didn't want to go to the other grad party she was invited to this afternoon....oh my heaven you would think I had said I wasn't taking her anywhere anymore. :scared:

We made it, unfortunately my lungs are not cooperating, I can only hope tomorrow will be better. :sad2:

Oh Debbie sorry to hear this, I do hope tomorrow is better

So how did Brandon react?

So...............

I think gouging my eye with an icepick would have been just as much fun as the airshow.

We drove an hour to get there, then waited in a line to get into the base that moved a half inch every minute. It took about an hour to get parked. Then we had to wait in another line to go through metal detectors. That probably took 20 minutes. We walked and walked, found a place to set up our chairs and blankets. It was now almost 2 PM. I hadn't eaten anything yet. Nicholas and Bob went to get pizzas and water. I think they waited in line for at least a half hour. I sat in the chair and the girls fidgeted around on the blanket, occasionally checking out a plane that was going overhead. The Blue Angels started around 3, and that lasted until maybe 4. Then we packed up, walked back to the van, waited in another line to get off of the base and drove home. Thank goodness the kids were good sports about it all, but I would have much preferred to be elsewhere, having bamboo slid under my nails.

I'm sorry but he is just going to have to get over it if he wants to do something/go somewhere that I, or my kids, have absolutely no desire to do. All 3 of us would have rather spent this beautiful day at the pool. "Just being together" doesn't make the unbearable bearable. I'm sticking to my guns next time and won't be guilted into anything. And quite frankly, I don't think he is being fair.

Debbie, I am sorry you aren't feeling well! I hope tomorrow is much better! :wizard:

Tammi, the air show would have sent me over the edge. I can remember trying to get on the naval base in FL for some event or other and it was HORRIBLE. I do think Bob needs to understand that there are some things you simply do not enjoy. Weekends are too short to spend them doing things you don't like.

I was supposed to babysit tonight but the little girl got sick so her mom asked if we can switch to next weekend. Fine with me! I went to the mall for awhile, came home and had a nap, then DH, DS and I went back out to some more shops and had dinner at Applebee's. We went to Kohl's, Dick's, Sports Authority, Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx and came home with NOTHING! Slim pickings out there today. I saw some fabulous shoes at Kohl's but they didn't have my size. I tried on some that were too small and some that were too big - not happening. I really need the right size.

Tammi...I give you credit for going! That's sounds totally unpleasant....and that's exactly how the air show is here....and this is also why I don't go!

So...............

Tammi sorry the air show was a bust for you. Tell Bob next time it is your turn to choose what to do ;)

I'm off for 2 whole days :cool1::cool1: The restaurant was very slow tonight so 3 waitstaff got to leave early. We drew straws so to speak and of course I lost. It worked out in the end as I had a few more parties and it made the night worthwhile.

The boys were in bed when I got home. We need to be up by 7 to head to the fishing derby. For me this is like going to the airshow, but the kids really want to go so Chris and I will comply. These fishing derbies are the only time we take the kids fishing.

So who can provide us with siteseeing ideas for Cozumel or Costa Maya Mexico? We are looking for fun things to do and/or see while onshore.

I was able to find a wonderful private touring company on Roatan that is extremely reasonably priced and it offers a spectacular day. We can do a canopy (zipline)tour, snorkel, shop, meet and interact with monkeys. It really is everything we want to do :goodvibes They customize each tour to accomodate yourr specific interests. I'm fairly certain we will book that one. Now we need to find fun things at the other ports. I want to make the most of our land time and feel that we saw the sights.

Oh Debbie sorry to hear this, I do hope tomorrow is better

So how did Brandon react?

Thanks, I'm up at 3:00 am taking a breathing treatment, I've made the hard decision to spend the morning in the room and let the boys go to Animal Kingdom without me. DH didn't want to leave me but I would feel much worse if I felt like I was ruining the trip for them. I think this is best, it will be my third day on the antibiotics, and as gross a's s it is I've started coughing up crud, which is actually a good thing as that means it's breaking up.

Brandon's reaction wasn't what I had hoped, he did break out in a big smile when I told him and asked if we were leaving "right now", but then he got sad and said he didn't want to go. He had been talking to his Mom about Disney World the prior week, and he didn't want to go and leave her home alone. She did convince him that she wanted him to go and have fun, I don't think I'll pull another surprise trip on him though.

I can tell you a couple of things not to do, our first time we did the shopping and site seeing tour in Cozumel, that was horrible. I loved snorkeling but Colby would probably be too young.

:hug:I hope that you feel better very soon. I'm sure it is very hard to be stuck in the room. I'm sure that Brandon's only hang up was leaving Mom, but once out the door I bet he won't look back :goodvibes

I plan to get Colby Snorkle gear here and get him into the pool over the summer. He is a great swimmer so I think I can teach him before then. We may all take a scuba class too, if one if offered at the Aquatic Center. I'm told that he is old enough to do that too :confused3 Whatever we do as far as snorkeling goes I'm sure it will have to incorporate a glass bottom boat since my Mother doesn't swim. Colby can always stay on the boat with Grammy

We're off to the fishing derbby. Thunderstorms are possible so we'll have to grab our rain suits.

I hate that you are still having so much trouble breathing! Hopefully you will feel like going out this afternoon! :wizard:

Damn fly got in last night and was buzzing my head early this morning.

Debbie sorry you are still not feeling well. I hope as the day progresses you will start feeling much better  I agree with Deb, it sounds like Brandon did not want to leave mom behind. Hopefully he will have a wonderful time!

Deb enjoy your 2 days off :cool1:
