DDA chapter 21

I am so tired today, and I don't really know why. I do need to get in gear and head to the grocery store, library, and propane place. The bed looks awfully inviting, though.

Parents of 8-tweens..what chores do you have your kids do? I am making a list of what I want the kids to do for their allowance now that everyone is older they can help more.;) I was also going to "up" their allowance based on the added chores.

Katie is always pressed for time at night due to homework so I have her empty & reload the dishwasher & fold/put away her clothes. The little ones clean up after dinner (clean the table, sweep) & lately Daniel has taken out the garbage..he is so cute cause the bag weighs more than he does...any other suggestions that would be age appropriate? Thanks!
My kids, comparable to Sophie and Daniel, have to help set the table, put things on the table, clear the table, make their bed, clean their bathroom, take out the trash and recycle (and bring the bins back into the house after pickup), put their laundry away (I do the folding), and vacuum. They also have to do general pick-up. Whatever they take out to play with gets put away. I can't stand clutter. It is so very difficult for me to TEACH them to do other things, because we are so short on time. It is just quicker and easier for me to do things myself instead of taking the time to teach and have them do stuff.

Did you find out anything about this? I just went through every day on the August calendar, and Wishes isn't listed for any day in August. Maybe they just forgot to code something for the month.

I didn't pursue it. It is what it is - either there will be fireworks, or not! :rotfl2:

I just popped down to the fitness center for my very first time. It's nice! :) They have treadmills, bikes, and some other thing that is probably like a stair climber. Also free weights, but I want no part of that. I did 2.8 miles on the treadmill. That was enough. :rolleyes1

I am having some sort of issue with the bones in my big toes, back into my foot. I *think* it is because of the way my foot hits the Fit. When I step on the Fit I go toes first, which is not a natural strike pattern. Typically your heel hits first. So I probably have some sort of stress injury. And I read that you can not wear shoes on the Fit, either. So for this week I think I will be in the fitness center instead of on the Fit.

Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom are all things my girls did at that age. Some things weren't done exactly the way I wanted them to be done but they got better as they got older.

Good morning :)

Well it seems like morning to me anyway lol After working yesterday I had to go back in & work the overnight(got called in & I had just laid down to go to sleep) & I was scheduled to work in the office today. So I did what I could & left at 8:30 this morning. I need to go back & finish up the end of month paperwork. I am so tired, I am so not cut out for overnights.

Elin your flowers are very pretty!

Tammi I will vote as soon as you have a link for us!

Becky I hope you are feeling better :wizard:

I know there is more, but my brain is not functioning yet.

:wizard: & to all.

Thank you both.

Elizabeth-DH's photos are great!:thumbsup2

On the photopass resort shoot thing....I've never done it but just wanted to say I thought Joe & I got some really great shots in the lobby of AKL. They were set up there every night. We didn't see them on the first night and then I think we only missed one other night because we were out. They told me they have simular set ups at GF, Poly and someother place. I have to say I never saw them at Poly the week I was there with Lizzy. I was going to have our photo taken at GF but we were running late for our Narcoosee's dinner so we didn't seek it out.

Tammi-cute poster! When does voting begin?

Elin-nice garden!

Debbie-sorry you weren't feeling well on your trip-you need a do-over for sure!

What were you doing looking at the August calendar?:confused3;)

I've been driving myself crazy again with photopass borders. I still have about 70 more photos to put borders on.

Nicholas' class is having an SOL feast on Friday, to celebrate the end of SOLs. They are requesting food donations, but want things that start with either an S, O or L. Other than oranges or Oreos, does anyone have any suggestions? Mind you, it has to be simple and something that he can transport to school. TIA!

I could not get into the doctor today as they were filled up. I have an appointment on Tuesday afternoon, it was the earliest I could get in. I did go into work today for several hours. I will go in tomorrow after my appointment as I have a meeting tomorrow night.
