I agree! We even had a freeze warning last night. Brrr!

Thought I would share some pics DH posted on the photo forum.![]()
DH attempted to grill chops, but we have no propane. So he cooked them on the stove instead.
My kids, comparable to Sophie and Daniel, have to help set the table, put things on the table, clear the table, make their bed, clean their bathroom, take out the trash and recycle (and bring the bins back into the house after pickup), put their laundry away (I do the folding), and vacuum. They also have to do general pick-up. Whatever they take out to play with gets put away. I can't stand clutter. It is so very difficult for me to TEACH them to do other things, because we are so short on time. It is just quicker and easier for me to do things myself instead of taking the time to teach and have them do stuff.Parents of 8-tweens..what chores do you have your kids do? I am making a list of what I want the kids to do for their allowance now that everyone is older they can help more.I was also going to "up" their allowance based on the added chores.
Katie is always pressed for time at night due to homework so I have her empty & reload the dishwasher & fold/put away her clothes. The little ones clean up after dinner (clean the table, sweep) & lately Daniel has taken out the garbage..he is so cute cause the bag weighs more than he does...any other suggestions that would be age appropriate? Thanks!
And you, Terry and I go to the beach this month! Thanks, Anne Marie!
You move to your new home this month!!![]()
Did you find out anything about this? I just went through every day on the August calendar, and Wishes isn't listed for any day in August. Maybe they just forgot to code something for the month.

I've discovered that BenGay is equivalent to catnip. I put some on my forearms and my cats are rubbing their heads all over my arms.

Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom are all things my girls did at that age. Some things weren't done exactly the way I wanted them to be done but they got better as they got older.

Nicholas' class is having an SOL feast on Friday, to celebrate the end of SOLs. They are requesting food donations, but want things that start with either an S, O or L. Other than oranges or Oreos, does anyone have any suggestions? Mind you, it has to be simple and something that he can transport to school. TIA!
