Thanks everyone. I was trying to think of something a little more filling than the lollipops, licorice or skittles. I think I'll go with the Lay's Potato Chips. :)

We're Home,

Actually we were home yesterday but I haven't unpacked my computer yet, I'm using my DD's right now.

Nicholas' class is having an SOL feast on Friday, to celebrate the end of SOLs. They are requesting food donations, but want things that start with either an S, O or L. Other than oranges or Oreos, does anyone have any suggestions? Mind you, it has to be simple and something that he can transport to school. TIA!

finger "s"andwiches

ants on a "l"og

gosh, I got nothing else right now.

I got in the shower at 2:15....when i got out I was covered in a rash. I called Kaiser and told them about it....and asked if I should take Benadryl and see them in the morning. The LPN got on the line and asked if I could be in at 4.

After learning I have gained ALL of the 40 lbs I lost last year and have a racing heart, and elevated blood pressure....:rotfl2:I then kept the dr's (I had a 3rd year med student as an observer) in stitches while answering their questions. :confused3 I was officially diagnosed with Pityriasis Rosea....or spontaneous rash....I itch and am exhausted. It will probably stick around all summer long. Thankfully, it isn't contagious and should only stay on my trunk...:scared1:

I did have to admit to not being there in a long time and I have to make an appt for my "yearly" exam (it's been 2 years:rotfl:)

You all are in my thoughts and prayers and I am going to get off and have somebody lather my back in lotion.

Parents of 8-tweens..what chores do you have your kids do? I am making a list of what I want the kids to do for their allowance now that everyone is older they can help more.;) I was also going to "up" their allowance based on the added chores.

Katie is always pressed for time at night due to homework so I have her empty & reload the dishwasher & fold/put away her clothes. The little ones clean up after dinner (clean the table, sweep) & lately Daniel has taken out the garbage..he is so cute cause the bag weighs more than he does...any other suggestions that would be age appropriate? Thanks!

My kids are responsible for completely cleaning their own rooms, they also help pile wood. Nick is now mowing our lawn on the riding lawn mower.

I am SHOCKED that they are running Spectro every night during our trip. I guess that is to offset the Fantasmic debacle?

So I need to come up with 3 rounds of things for Fear Factor for Relay. It can be really gross and nasty.

The first round needs to be relatively easy to set up and that a large group of people potentially 40 or more can do at one time, not expensive. This activity needs to reduce the number of contestants to 12.

Next activity is for those 12 people and needs to reduce the number of contestants down to 3.

For the first activity I was thinking of filling balloons with water, some or all of them would have dirt in them so they would be muddy. In 12 of those balloons there would be an object, I was thinking small wood ice cream spoons. Everyone would need to pop the balloons with their rear end. The first 12 people to get a spoon would win and move on to the next round.

Nick's team lost their last game. Actually they lost all of their games this year, but they learned a lot, had fun and best of all...it's over ;) Hunter has one game left on Wednesday night. His team lost their game tonight too. It was a very long day, but I survived.

I like it, but you kinda miss the FEAR element. How about arming everyone with spears and having a free for all? ;)

It will be a free for all. No spears;) Ages 12 and up.

Some people are scared of popping balloons and getting dirty.:confused3 So I need scorpions in the balloons??

I am not really sure. last year the first group activity took over an hour to go through the different groups as there were so many people and it was not conducive to a large size and took a long time. I am trying to come up with something for the first group that can go as a big group and is easy to determine winners.

Then need two other activities. Normally I am good at thinking of this stuff but am really struggling.

I would fear having a wooden ice cream spoon jammed in my, um, tushy.
Oh, yeah. Those splinters could be dangerous. ;)

Becky - I have no ideas for you now, mainly because my brain is mush at this hour. I'll think about it and see what I can come up with.

Forget the water, fill them with shaving cream. Much more messy for all :rotfl2:

How about filling a small pool with water (or slime), setting up teams and giving each team a sponge and a bucket marked with a fill to line. Each team has one member fill the sponge with water, then pass the sponge down the line of team members to the last one, with the bucket being held on their heads. The sponge gets wrung out into the bucket then passed back to the pool person, repeat until a team (or however many teams) wins.

This weekend I got the new book The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World. I read somewhere about people talking that it was good, and even gave veteran travelers new bits of information. The kids and I laid down in bed and started reading it together. I got to page 5 and found the first mistake. The author states that the wooden bench with Goofy is in front of City Hall. Unless they've moved it, it is in front of Exposition Hall. Aside from that, the kids already want to bring it with us and find some of the things the author is referring to, and we've only got to page 14.
