DDA Chapter 20

I've got to admit that the swine flu has me in panic mode. Things like this usually don't phase me, but for some reason this does. Since I work in two very public places and the boys are in a public school I can't imagine that we won't catch it. I went out and bought a ton of dry goods tonight as well as lots of fluids. We are all set with supplies just in case. We needed the dry goods for the camper anyway, so I just bought them a bit earlier this year.

no...still waiting. so far they have done an EKG...a doppler test on her leg and have given BP meds in the IV.

Waiting for an update...and not sure if I am supposed to drive there,,,,if they are keeping her or what :confused3

Kristine any news yet?

I'm not ready to panic yet. It is a serious situation though. We all do need to be prepared to be isolated. Good thing we have our family online to keep us sane if that happens.

Excellent point. We will certainly need online friends to keep us sane.

Well my mother was rushed to the ER.....her BP is 206/116. Waiting for an update. I do not need a crisis right now

Chuck's mom went back in the hospital yesterday. Her heart was racing again. She is still in there as they are monitoring her.

Very cute, Beth!

Alyssa loved all of her birthday messages. Some of you she remembers. I have to get out the pictures from Tusker House and CMC and point out who sent which message. She loves remembering you all, but she couldn't understand why some of you weren't in them! :rotfl2: Thank you so much!

I'm sorry Kristine. I hope whatever it is, that they caught it in time. Sending lots of prayers her way. :wizard:

How far from you is she?

I'm not so much panicked about catching it, I'm more panicked about how I'm going to handle it if school and daycare close. I burned a ton of leave with Alyssa being sick earlier this year. I don't want to have to burn more because someone else is sick!

Ih ope Alyssa had a great birthday!
She did. We all went to IHOP for dinner and then rushed to Nicholas' soccer game. I'm not at all happy with his coach this year. At what point do we stop becoming a nation of pacifiers? If a team gets creamed 0-5, and they haven't scored a single goal in the last 3 games, should you STILL be patting them all on the back saying "good job?" These kids need to COACHED, have their egos pumped up. Yes, they need encouragement and praise, but they also need to be told when they suck so they strive to be better.

Afterwards we came back here for more cake and birthday presents. Nicholas got her a Pucci Pet and I got her the new Jonas Brothers CD. I guess she was pleased, as there was a lot of shreiking and jumping around as she opened them both. ;)

the girls have about 3 weeks of school left, we really don't need anything closing down right now. But our neighborhood would be the one to get quarantined....we definitely have the itinerate workers and the girls schools are the most diverse except in Denver proper.

Good thing tomorrow is grocery shopping day....we have nothing in the cupboards....better be ready for anything.

Since you work for the government I would think if they mandate schools and daycare closure than they should fully understand why you can't go to work.

Tammi-what is a pucci pet?

Argggh!! At this point I am praying that Abi doesn't want to do marching band when it's time.....nepotism is truly rearing it's ugly head.:sad2:

Oh there wouldn't be a problem with me getting off, I just don't want to use my leave. I want to save it for vacations and taking several weeks off in the summer again. :) It's paid leave, not just a day off of work.
